- feshmania, on 04/29/2008, -3/+226I think it helps that all Chinese people know how to fly, too.
- synystar, on 04/29/2008, -1/+214He is using props "such as metal wires". Uh...I wouldn't do that and so he is ballsier than me. Props or not.
Art? Dunno. Ballsier? By far. - gill003, on 04/29/2008, -2/+191He's also a huge fan of the white t-shirt, jean shorts look.
- farTart, on 04/29/2008, -0/+73I was going to give him props, but I see he already has some.
- inactive, on 04/29/2008, -56/+119Where the hell does Dailymail get their information from? The photographer, himself, said a LONG time ago (when these were all taken about seven years or so ago) that they're photoshops.
- mxmj, on 04/29/2008, -2/+52And thats a real Giants arm too...
- purplehaze420, on 04/29/2008, -3/+42Uh-huh... and where do YOU get YOUR information from? Reference to this? Links? If not then stop ruining our fun.
- green94, on 04/29/2008, -3/+40I've been known to hang out of buildings horizontally in my spare time, what's the big deal?
- pentupentropy, on 04/29/2008, -10/+47that's pretty sweet. good find
- Namaha, on 04/29/2008, -1/+28[citation needed]
- GregFD3S, on 04/29/2008, -0/+26He hangs off of buildings and structures with WIRES! Then he uses Photoshop to EDIT OUT THE WIRES.
Either way you look at it, he is still hanging off of buildings with freaking wires! Thats ballsy in my book! - vcudigg, on 04/29/2008, -2/+25He's an amazing artist. There is a lot of talent in China today. He is one of my favorites! Here's his (Li Wei) website: http://www.liweiart.com/
- mjpanzer, on 04/29/2008, -0/+22Tobias would be proud of those cut-offs
- seantubridy, on 04/29/2008, -3/+24"I dont think any one has told him we have photoshop now......"
That's like saying no one should learn to cook because we can all buy frozen meals. Sometimes it's more fun and more worth it to create photographs without the assistance of Photoshop. - bgrah449, on 04/29/2008, -5/+24You can see the wire bumps in their shirts. Did he photoshop those in?
- inactive, on 04/29/2008, -5/+22I dont think any one has told him we have photoshop now......
- sciz, on 04/29/2008, -1/+171.) If by "they're photoshops" you mean that the artist does not shoot on location with extensive use of wires and props, then you're incorrect. (See artist's website, cited above, which includes "making of" photographs.)
2.) None of the pictures in the article where taken more than four years ago. (See artist's official photo page, cited above, which includes dates.)
It's a shame to see such an inaccurate comment so dugg up... I suppose slighting Daily Mail is enough to get approval 'round here regardless. - Heavypettingzoo, on 04/29/2008, -1/+16nevernude?
- corkdorkdan, on 04/29/2008, -2/+16Maybe you should get a life and not be on Digg 24/7.
- Shadowdev, on 04/29/2008, -1/+15Jeez... just looking at that picture gives me slight vertigo.
- efitz11, on 04/29/2008, -2/+15dugg for sparta kick
- yournightmare, on 04/29/2008, -2/+15You know how I know it's fake? Because the artist says it's fake, that's how.
- andyhite, on 04/29/2008, -0/+12I see that first photo on ImageChan a lot - interesting to see the story behind it.
- FoolsRun, on 04/29/2008, -0/+12There are dozens of us! DOZENS!
- Jwoey, on 04/29/2008, -1/+13make sure to let us know all the reasons you digg stories.
- Khevenhuller, on 04/29/2008, -0/+12Those photos are fun to look at, but they cost $8000? Wtf? I guess we all just got about $50,000 worth of entertainment reading this article.
- wantknowledge, on 04/29/2008, -0/+11Check out his website. These images are not being faked.
www.liweiart.com/ART/liwei/ARTISTBIO.htm - Mercedes383, on 04/29/2008, -0/+10You're dead right, but what a lot of people are getting at is that they think the artist himself is composited into the scene.and that he never used rigging to hold him in those positions in the first place.
I may be pointing out the obvious, but for some reason certain Digg articles tend to a attract a particularly resilient strain of retard. - wantknowledge, on 04/29/2008, -0/+8It isn't photoshop. On the bio section of the artists website there are photos that show the prep work being done for some of his performances.
www.liweiart.com/ART/liwei/ARTISTBIO.htm - KimonoThief, on 04/29/2008, -1/+9Everybody does.
- Scape89, on 04/29/2008, -2/+10Not to mention the extremely short jean shorts...
- tnoy, on 04/29/2008, -0/+8so?
- inactive, on 04/29/2008, -0/+7Yeah, thats true, but the implication when someone says they're shopped is that he was never actually in the predicaments depicted. In fact, if he was just hanging on wires, they he was. It just wasn't in a dangerous, uncontrolled way that it appears. i would call removing wires post-processing, not photoshopping.
- TexasFlood93, on 04/29/2008, -3/+10Very good work, sir.
I award you ten internets. - purplehaze420, on 04/29/2008, -1/+7Link or it didn't happen
- inactive, on 04/29/2008, -2/+8If it was supposed to be real... How the hell would he be on an angle like that? Idiot.
- artisresistance, on 04/29/2008, -2/+8I do.
- brettmurf, on 04/29/2008, -0/+6They are PERFORMANCE pieces as well. People get to walk by and go WTF.
- checkacheck, on 04/29/2008, -1/+7I really hate Digging pages from the Daily Mail, but these images are cool
- elshizzo, on 04/29/2008, -2/+7actually they ARE photoshopped. If you go to his websiite it shows videos of how his pictures are made, and they shop out the wires/ropes holding him in a lot of them.
- Failchan, on 04/29/2008, -2/+7I'm sure you know everyone. Jackass.
- kihadat, on 04/29/2008, -0/+4no ***** *****. Read the goddam article.
- inactive, on 04/29/2008, -1/+5The big deal is you didn't take pix like he did.
- Cl1mh4224rd, on 04/29/2008, -0/+4I'm pretty sure this is the same guy, too: http://www.stealthbadger.com/content/images/gtfo.j ...
- mxmj, on 04/29/2008, -8/+12It is photoshop. The dailymail is retarded.
- ZanCakes, on 04/30/2008, -0/+3Looks like Yves Klein's work "Leap into the Void" from the 60's except taken to the extreme. Super neato.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Le_Saut_Dans_le ... - boombye, on 04/29/2008, -0/+3Thanks for the link anyways, that one had some interesting shots in it that weren't in this one.
- crossmr, on 04/29/2008, -0/+3still waiting for someone to pony up the evidence on that.
- spleen22, on 04/29/2008, -0/+3***** brilliant. The one that made me chuckle is where his head the only thing submerged in the water.
- sashapave, on 04/29/2008, -0/+3Not a lotta room for mistake is there?
