- granolajoe, on 06/20/2008, -0/+1I don't know...I'm not a big fan of being mean to the people on the other end of the phone. Yea, they're annoying, but they're often people without the necessary level of education to have a better job. I know because when I was 18, I worked in customer service (I know...different from telemarketing, but still) while I put myself through school. And I couldn't stand every self-righteous person who thought it was OK to be abusive to me when I was trying to help them out.
Also, I did some work for the Muscular Dystrophy Association...requesting donations. And I got death threats from people who were so bothered by someone calling them. Just hang up...and work to get yourself off of lists instead. There's no need to be mean. - usedboxes, on 06/23/2008, -0/+0I don't know. This is funny and all, and I have been frustrated by telemarketers just like anyone else, but I just can't be mean. My first job was telemarketing. I HATED it. I didn't want to be the annoying person on the other end. It sucked. High pressure, low pay, people hating my very exsistence. Not fun. Anyone think about that.
