- dwsampson, on 07/13/2009, -14/+477They're laughing because they think they're part of something great and wonderful.
He's laughing because he can wave his hands at people and make them act ridiculous. I wish I could do that. - felman87, on 07/13/2009, -5/+339WTF did I just watch?
- nipplash, on 07/13/2009, -6/+323I just blame stupid people in general.
- Gareth321, on 07/13/2009, -16/+301I'm a Christian and that creeps me out.

- mlvassallo, on 07/13/2009, -13/+198Because this isn't Christianity.
- Archcoder, on 07/13/2009, -25/+197And they have the audacity to call Muslims crazy.
- Farmer77, on 07/13/2009, -4/+174The Scientology people are still more insane.
- Malik112099, on 07/13/2009, -8/+136Was the one girl moaning having a holygasm?

- williemain, on 07/13/2009, -15/+137I don't know if I want that 2 minutes and 47 seconds of my life back, or if I want to go find that church and join it...
- willr91, on 07/13/2009, -5/+112Ah, the great power of suggestion...
- purecheese, on 07/13/2009, -1/+106It's called "Holy Laughter" it was a "movement" that hit in the mid 90's. Its really crazy, this coming from a "twice a week attending, BA in youth ministry" Christian. This is best site I could find on the topic. http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm/Psychology/cha ...
- Ruger11mcrdpi, on 07/13/2009, -25/+128I logged in to digg you up. What a stupid bitch.

- detrascion, on 07/13/2009, -12/+90Err....he didn't say "everything is wrong in the US" he said "everything wrong in the US"
- covertbadger, on 07/13/2009, -8/+82They're free to do their thing. We're free to point and laugh. Take your own advice.

- ThinkBox, on 07/13/2009, -4/+74They gave out X before the service
- TheSavant, on 07/13/2009, -14/+79Your anger is misguided, alanocu. This IS what is wrong with America. While the rest of the world suffers, we do this stuff. While people children starve in the dirt, Americans give money to this. The title doesn't suggest we are suffering in America. The title says America has a problem. This is just the tip of the iceberg. These idiots are the same people who want to bomb Iran and wipe other religions of the face of the planet. Do you remember the poll that showed up on Digg a little while back that discussed who thought torture was alright? Guess who? These people. Instead of taking 10% of your income and giving it to huckster churches, take that money and make the world a better place, or find a church that works for a better world instead of putting on a show. When times are hard so many people retreat into churches for comfort. ***** your comfort, and get your hands dirty to fix things!
The title is accurate. This is definitely part of the problem in America. - UltraMegaFilms, on 07/13/2009, -2/+62The problem with this comment is that it sounds stupid seriously, and it sounds stupid sarcastically. 0/2
- RedSaber, on 07/13/2009, -17/+75America's Bible Belt is one sick place to live.
- bales2552, on 07/13/2009, -0/+51You just watched a man with the power to shoot laughter waves at people.
- giveer, on 07/13/2009, -2/+53Just for your reference, you're watching "Kenneth Hagin & Kenneth Copeland Ministries" running on full tilt. (Kenneth Copeland is the guy in the beige suit that started "jigging" and ran to the very front.)
These guys are absolutely bonkers. They are the driving force of prosperity preaching (y'know, the whole televangelist "God wants you to be rich" nonsense?) The copeland guy even wrote his own version of the bible to justify everything that you just watched. You know those crazy people that phone up women they find hot and say "God told me in a dream that we need to be married" and will continue doing it until you get a restraining order? yeah... odds are, that guy is a Copeland follower. (This happened to my former roommate - just offhand.)
I realize on digg anything bible-related is considered pretty thoughtless anyhow, however, these two and the people they dupe are the defining examples on what kind of garbage you can come up with if you have no actual training on how to read old translated documents and how to translate them into today's language.
It looks stupid, but it's actually a scary, scary movement. - datastorageguy, on 07/13/2009, -5/+56I am as well and have never seen this before in person. I don't get it. As a matter of fact it kind of pisses me off. This isn't Christianity any more than the Muslim guy you see on the street is a terrorist.
- virtorio, on 07/13/2009, -5/+52What in the mother ***** is going on in this video?
- lacrimosa2008, on 07/13/2009, -19/+65The difference between the holy laughter guys and the obama-woman is, that the laughter guys are institutionalized and organized with a "speaker" doing stupid stuff on purpose while the obama-woman is just a recipient and too stupid to...well....everything.
The church guys are dangerous. - roodammy44, on 07/13/2009, -2/+47A very large part of what happens in american churches isn't christianity.
I read about some churches who have malls inside them. How convinient to ignore some of Jesus' main teachings.
I hear of christians demanding war, opposing tax schemes that help the poor, and treating money as it were a god itself. What would Jesus, a peace-loving hippy sort of character, have thought if he were around these days?
Just how many of the most basic fundamental teachings do they ignore every day.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a religious person, but it seems to me that a lot of religious people know a lot less about living a good life than I do.
I guess in most places, being christian is doing what the priest tells you to do. - gllopc, on 07/13/2009, -5/+49There will be some planted fakers up front, but people in these churches don't want to be left out, and so they'll subconsciously participate; especially when a television camera is on them. Not wanting to admit that they feigned the fainting spell, they'll say anything, even against their own suspicions, to make themselves right for doing it. This often continues for the rest of their lives, causing them to give up thousands of dollars, if not more, proving their belief, for the purpose of making themselves more and more "right" for their original participation.
Religious faith is a hell of a drug.
From Wikipedia - "Slain in the Spirit":
"Being slain in the Spirit is a term used within charismatic Christianity. It describes a religious behaviour in which an individual falls to the floor.[1] This usually happens during an event they perceive as a personal encounter with the Holy Spirit, often associated with the practice of laying on of hands."
"Other sources of the phenomenon can be autosuggestion, peer pressure, or a desire to experience what others have experienced."

- MikeRiley, on 07/13/2009, -0/+40I was watching one of those Christian masses on TV one Sunday morning and they had this guy selling some sort of miracle water. I remember there was this old sickly person with a cane that the speaker had stand up and walk to the stage. He made a big show of how weak the person was. Bopped him on the forehead and threw the cane away and the weak guy started doing a jig. Everybody was cheering.. It doesn't get much more fake than that.
- kaminariko, on 07/13/2009, -0/+40Force Orgasm is now at the top of my superpower wish list.
- shifty2, on 07/13/2009, -0/+36That would be a good Force power to have: Force Laughter
Others would include:
Force Defecation
Force Vomit
Force Orgasm - johnomaz, on 07/13/2009, -3/+38You watched some moron make a mockery of Christianity.
- mnemy, on 07/13/2009, -3/+34The smart people that exploit the stupid people are also to blame.
- reparsed, on 07/13/2009, -3/+33Jesus was touching her naughty place.
- NorrisOBE, on 07/13/2009, -7/+37I was watching this with my Christian friend.
And you know what he said?
"Only in America" - lipocs, on 07/13/2009, -9/+38@alanocu uhh i dont know why people are digging you up. You're kinda missing the point. I also blame stupid people for everything wrong in the U.S.
Just because we have less serious problems here doesn't mean we shouldn't complain or try to fix things. This is ***** America. Let's set an example and start criticizing morons more. Imagine if those people in the video are running the country. scarrryyyy - evilesttoast, on 07/13/2009, -3/+30Next time I go to church, I'm going to just start laughing like a ***** in the middle of the service.
- SirBruce, on 07/13/2009, -3/+30Actually it's hurting a lot of other people, most likely starting with their children.
- mnpilot, on 07/13/2009, -7/+33Ever seen the sheep who freeze and fall down at loud noises, same thing here.....
- PPCG4, on 07/13/2009, -0/+26That's one evil laugh.
- ZimbuTheMonkey, on 07/13/2009, -2/+26jwquinlan, do you really not see a difference between saying "Muslims" and "Muslim extremists"?
- nedzeve, on 07/13/2009, -9/+33People who are hopeful that the economy will improve? I don't blame them. I blame the greedy corporate ***** who manipulated the economy into this mess to begin with.
- jp83avalanche, on 07/13/2009, -3/+27Agreed.....
