- cyberdork, on 10/10/2007, -1/+61The name of the village is Torri Superiore located in Liguria, Italy.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torri_Superiore - unicronband, on 10/10/2007, -0/+42It's not "dilapidated", it's a fixer-upper.
- eternal464, on 10/10/2007, -6/+45paintball anyone?
- 0crabby0, on 10/10/2007, -2/+39It's not totally abandoned - someone's taking care of the grapes.
http://www.abandonedbutnotforgotten.com/an%20abandoned%20village%20in%20Italy/21.jpg - onionizer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+35For those of you wondering, the "Torno subito" writing on the door means "I'll be right back" in italian.. quite ironic, isn't it?
- mb3581, on 10/10/2007, -2/+35these look like some of the maps on COD
- cusoman, on 10/10/2007, -2/+26Looks like the perfect site for the next Silent Hill game.
- jontando, on 10/10/2007, -0/+22Heaven forbid he calls someone by their username.
- skelterskelter, on 10/10/2007, -2/+22ah, brings me back to the days people still used words like dilapidated...
- mikkobc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15looks like people are trying to restore the village, but i'm curious as to why it was abandoned in the first place?
- redlemon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13dilapidated > amazing
- ChickenOfDoom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Why exactly is it abandoned? Was there a chemical spill or something? That looks like some potentially expensive real estate to me.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Flip this Village with Bob Villa
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Looks like you'd run into Michael Corleone if you were there 50 years ago.
- XxIronhidexX, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Well there's usually a feature on camera's called "zoom".
- 44Bigs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I wonder why it was abandoned in the first place.. neither Wikipedia nor the village's official site make any mention of that. They only state that it was abandoned over the twentieth century.
- Mossman85, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Resident Evil 6
- xister, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Nowwww who's the cyberdork!?!?!?!?!

- Regulator980, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6An abandoned 13th century Medieval labyrinths/fortress, hmm? That's sounds awesome! Dugg!

- jellygraph, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Funny, all the information I've tried to find about this place strangely enough do not discuss why it was abandoned...
Perhaps the new people trying to restore it will find out soon enough (and provide Stephen King with some inspiration for his next novel) - simplenation, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7and Counter Strike
- x00x, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5This is an eerily fascinating story. What is most compelling are the circumstances that lead to what seems inexplicable abandonment of a quaint lovely little village something that historically I think is quite rare in Italy, where families stay together fo rmany, many generations.
Sure there are plenty of ghost towns out in the American West but that's because those towns that arose as a result of the mining discoveries in the area were eventually abandoned after the mines were depleted. The wikipedia article doesn't provide any indication why abandonment occured. Rod Serling, where are you? - CraigCarlyle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4When I first looked at the picture gallery, I was amazed by the beautiful scenery and wondered why no one would live there. After looking at the Wikipedia article, I'm glad to see they're working on some restoration, it would be a great place to live.
- HanSolo69, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4What part of that is eerie? It would be eerie if there were still people living there, kind of peeking out of the shadows. now that's eerie.
- parasitewasp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4everywhere is a good place to grow weed, well......you know
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -6/+10Looks like a good place to grow some weed..
- fuzed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4That's very cool. Whomever took those must have had a great time exploring all by themselves (from the looks of it). Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Wish I would have seen more things like that on my trips through Italy...
- snypa, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Don't you mean trailer?
- spect3r, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6im in ur village chasin ur ppl, ciao:

- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Airsoft FTL, paintball would be fun
- operator99, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Would love to see a talented photographer cover this place.
- blackjack75, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Some areas of Italy were very poor early in this century. Poor enough for all the children to leave and move to the closest city and for all the old people to die alone.
- aukxsona, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I live in one of those "ghost towns" kinda. Our population is roughly 6 families. I home school or my children would have to go to the county school. We have no stores, no post office, ...only a town hall which we vote at. Most of the people are old.....80's and 90's.
- TheAcclaimed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Or maybe its their cat....
- theholycow, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'd hit it.
- jftitan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I call dibs on the abandoned Hotel and CAT. who knows, when you will need a veteran cat that knows the lay of the lands.
Anywho, could any of that be purchasable? I doubt it, but if I look hard enough I bet I could fix me up a new home from one of those abandoned buildings. - TwwIX, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Ghost Towns ftw!
- donald347, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Looks like Gymkata
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2No. *There* wolf. There _castle_!
- jiggidy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+223 Buildings, 42 degrees north - 19 degrees east = 23! 23 ruined this village!
- bluenash, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Where wolf? There wolf!
- Skooma714, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2STALKER: Shadow of Liguria.
- sgr215, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Looks awesome, makes me wish I was a billionaire. I'd buy it and completely restore it.
- Wolfie351, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2There's also one right outside of Monte Casino, destroyed as the Allies battled north through Italy. It's never been restored and you can walk through it all, looks like it came right out of a movie. I hear they will be making it more tourist friendly and will soon be charging admission.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It looks a bit like the lost coast bit from Half Life 2
- ScottoGato, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Uh oh. I see the "death kitty" and it looks like it's about to curl up next to you...
