- jtq1, on 01/11/2008, -3/+96I have to return some videotapes.
- JLecker, on 01/11/2008, -1/+58Dugg, but I really think the background music should have been some Huey Lewis & The News.
- fthead9, on 01/11/2008, -4/+57That was awesome, someone did one hell of a good job on that edit.
- Mikey9oo, on 01/11/2008, -1/+49This is the father of them all: http://youtube.com/watch?v=KmkVWuP_sO0
The Shining as a romantic comedy. I am sure you have all seen this before, but if not, check it out. - smacksaw, on 01/11/2008, -6/+44Nothing compares to The Wicker Man trailer:

Even if you didn't see it, it's hilarious.
ps - American Psycho is one of the best movies in a long time. Criminally genius ^^ - AntiClimacus, on 01/11/2008, -0/+38Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
- ZombieSociety, on 01/11/2008, -1/+26Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.
- hungryfoolish, on 01/11/2008, -1/+20its meant to be a dark comedy....very very dark....magnificent acting by chirstian bale....but the movie left out quite a few details....read the book if you truly want to know the story...
- Supurcell, on 01/11/2008, -1/+20I really like The Shining as a family drama.

- cusoman, on 01/11/2008, -1/+17
I have to admit, the first time I saw the part where he drops the chainsaw on the girl from the stairs, I totally LOL'd
- chkdg8, on 01/11/2008, -0/+16I don't think we should see each other any more.
Why? What's wrong?
I need to engage in homicidal behaviour on a massive scale. It can not be corrected but I have no other way to fulfill my needs. - jmpeagle, on 01/11/2008, -0/+12random fact about the book: Gloria Steinem, who is Christian Bale's Stepmom was a leading feminist who opposed the release of the original book because of its content on violence against women.
- mywhitenoise, on 01/11/2008, -0/+11You mother *****. I usually hate quotes...I think you may have just persuaded me to go out and buy this movie in hi-def.
- DeadRooster, on 01/11/2008, -0/+10Dumb and Dumber trailer recut as a horror film:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQUeo-_8Xow - quiznos, on 01/11/2008, -7/+17Same type of thing, but with requiem for a dream http://www.videosift.com/video/Requiem-for-a-Dream ...
- ScottyMcBaggs, on 01/11/2008, -0/+9Ahhh dude, it is a dark comedy. A huge element of it is a satire of 80s yuppie culture. I actually can't even see how anyone would think it's a thriller.
- spammishking, on 01/11/2008, -0/+9Ass to Ass...the most mind burning line ever
- yersoocrust, on 01/11/2008, -0/+9Patrick Bateman: Do you know what Ed Gein said about women?
David Van Patten: The maitre 'd at Canal Bar?
Patrick Bateman: No, serial killer, Wisconsin, the '50s.
Craig McDermott: So what did he say?
Patrick Bateman: "When I see a pretty girl walking down the street, I think two things. One part wants me to take her out, talk to her, be real nice and sweet and treat her right."
David Van Patten: And what did the other part think?
Patrick Bateman: "What her head would look like on a stick...” - fstorino, on 01/11/2008, -0/+8That's really cool. But for me the most creative of them all is the one that made a sequel: Titanic 2!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vD4OnHCRd_4 - enzobot24, on 01/11/2008, -0/+7I can't believe that Bryce prefers Van Patten's comment to mine.
- Mikey9oo, on 01/11/2008, -1/+8Scary Mary! http://youtube.com/watch?v=2T5_0AGdFic&feature=rel ...
- yohnstoppable, on 01/11/2008, -0/+7Top Gun is already gay
- thecrazyd, on 01/11/2008, -0/+7See, that was good. The first one linked was pretty terrible.
- mywhitenoise, on 01/11/2008, -0/+6That one's the best one I've seen, nothing comes close.
- imakecomments, on 01/11/2008, -0/+6Why are you sorry? Is it your fault?
- yomamaisfat, on 01/11/2008, -7/+13Apparently the song that is played in a preview determines the film's genre.
- gurm, on 01/11/2008, -2/+8BTW what's the deal with successful American movies being directed by non-Americans?
American Psycho - canuck directing (and brit starring)
American History X - brit directing
American Beauty - brit directing
American Pie - okay, finally a true yankee movie, wee - epiccollision, on 01/11/2008, -0/+5I thought the original was a comedy...it was so over the top...me and my date couldn't help but bust a gut the whole way through...it was hilarious...Huey lewis commentary before hacking someone to pieces...now thats funny
- kashem, on 01/11/2008, -0/+5That was perfect... Movie great, book awesome -- to be able to cut the movie + voiceovers like that... I applaud you.
- itspuddingtime, on 01/11/2008, -0/+5I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with you there... This movie is absolutely hilarious
- Hermiod, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4Do it! Then just re-edit the trailers for all the movies you want to watch to make them look like rom-coms. You'll never have to sit through anything with Jennifer Aniston or Jennifer Lopez in it ever again!
- TrevorBelmont, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4Feed me a stray cat.
- catch-22, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4I find it sadly ironic that the only full-blooded American movie in your list is also the lowest common denominator one...
- RedReplicant, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4The book is boring. Intentionally boring. It zigzags between boring and extremely nasty.
As much as I like weird murder fantasy, the boring parts of this book were so excruciating that I couldn't even finish it. - JEWestbrookJR, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3I think Scary Mary is the best http://youtube.com/watch?v=2T5_0AGdFic
- hvyhitter, on 01/11/2008, -1/+4I have to agree.. it is VERY good as a Romance.. not a romantic comedy.. I dont understand the negative diggs.. oh well here is a +1. I see stupid people
- ScottyMcBaggs, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3I was in ***** tears at that part first time I saw it, he's just running around his building naked in socks, I mean, WTF
- ComradeMikhail1, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3Well this movie has a cult following among my friends. The first time we watched it we saw it as a dark thriller, but every time we've seen it since we've laughed our assess off. It is truly funny.
- crazycracker911, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3Dammit don't get me started.....I already annoy my friends enough with quotes from this movie.
- mywhitenoise, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2Oh *****, I forgot about that one! I was going to agree, Shining was my favorite, until you reminded me.
- ahuxley, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2Bruised?
You get stitches. - smacksaw, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2Ah, see I liked the movie because of Bale. Most people who say they like books better than films is because of their imagination, however I would rather see someone else's interpretation if done right. When you have all of these actors bringing their own characterisation to a role, the tapestry becomes so rich that using one's imagination would make the book take weeks to read. Of course most movies are just bad, but I loved Bale and Leto in that film. Leto was awesome in Lord of War as well. Very expressive.
- itspuddingtime, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2Thats the funniest part of the movie
- TrevorBelmont, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2What about The Patriot's all Aussie cast?
- Frailty, on 01/12/2008, -0/+2That is because it is a comedy, a dark comedy. The book is very funny.
- Thefatheroftime, on 01/11/2008, -2/+4So, a friend of mine is CONVINCED that the producers of the movie American Psycho made the movie as a dark comedy, not a dark thriller.
He thinks it was a comedy like the old Batman TV series were supposedly made silly and campy on purpose.
I disagree...any thoughts? - freshyill, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2That was great, but the font choices nearly ruined it for me. Note to self: Don't let film editors pick fonts.
- Rethcir, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2Well, I was trying to listen to the new Robert Palmer tape when I saw this article. This trailer isn't terribly important to me. I have to return some videotapes.
