- wild, on 10/12/2007, -14/+317If I owned a $1.5 million dollar car, you sure as hell wouldn't see anyone else behind the wheel of it.
- Mudcrutch, on 10/12/2007, -4/+265"but thats a present day car so whoever the owner is can just get a new one"
No you can't. It's an Enzo. - NymphoChik, on 10/12/2007, -3/+220Now the Ferrari is just like his career.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -19/+234White men can't dance, Black men can't drive.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+169I wonder what they will do with the car. I'd take it off his hands and drive it around wrecked and all. I bet I could still pick up chicks with it.
- Yeabudy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+163The guy standing behind the barrier didn't even flinch. Balls of steel.
- DreKor, on 10/12/2007, -4/+98Why wouldn't you teach him to drive before giving him the keys? Don't hit the brakes in a turn like that.
- knupso, on 10/12/2007, -3/+96Understeer is a real bitch!
- Sairgem, on 10/12/2007, -4/+89Wait, people watched Undercover Brother?
- bizzysim, on 10/12/2007, -6/+88Man Law : "Don't crash a Ferrari!"
- doddilus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+76The lesson learned here today:
Tire Wall > Concrete Wall - drethedog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+67That'll buff right out.....
- ChronicColonic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+70"My Dad's a TV Repairman...he's got tools. I can fix it."
- glxyjones, on 10/12/2007, -5/+70@glasnostic
except the guys in Top Gear actually know how to drive...they didn't crash the Enzo that was lent to them
granted the one guy did crash a jet-powered car at 280mph - LiquidChimera, on 10/12/2007, -4/+57I wonder how Mencia will steal this.
- HalFTW, on 10/12/2007, -10/+55Insurance FTW?
- fordicus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+47looks like he slammed the brakes in the middle of a turn, a good reason to slide into a wall. At least give the guy some driving lessons before unleashing him on one of the best cars made in the last 20+ years
- cblalock, on 10/12/2007, -7/+42Are your tears usually audible?
- MrScience, on 10/12/2007, -3/+36@glxyjones: And Top Gear's case, the front tire blew out: http://kenvsryu.blogspot.com/2007/01/richard-hammond-crash-video-from-top.html
- thefirelane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32Why was there a barrier so close to the turn?
I went to a Mazda Zoom Zoom event that had more run off space than that. - levi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31@mcatrage
The problem with that statement is that you can't just go out and buy an Enzo. Ignoring the fact that their not made any more, you could not buy one to begin with. At no point could you ever walk in to a showroom and buy one. They were sold by invitation only to select VP customers that already owned at least 2 other Ferraris. - bill679, on 10/12/2007, -10/+39Spam. Dugg down. From your blog linked above:
"I got a sequence of photos of the Enzo hitting a concrete barrier and anyone who wants to buy a license for the photos can contact my photo agency, Landov in NYC." - MateyO, on 10/12/2007, -7/+35Never confuse balls with stupidity. I expect 5 minutes after the crash he was a blubbering heap.
- glasnostic, on 10/12/2007, -14/+41Did you hear that? That’s the sound of every exotic car owner who was planning on lending their irreplaceable car to Top Gear changing their mind.
- joeydoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26The car isn't really like his career... Before it crashed it was one of the best..
- kuj007, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28And admitted it in a public forum???
- darukhan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26Congrats to all the Enzo Ferrari owners out there.... the value of your highly collectible supercars just went up!
More wrecked Enzo Ferrari pics can be found over on Wrecked Exotics.com >>>> http://www.wreckedexotics.com/enzo/ - joerod, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28man that hurts to watch. such a nice car
- antifolkhero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25The funniest part of this headline is that they called him an actor.
- ChronicColonic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25If the CBS video link isn't working for you, try this YouTube link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=kvijGdyvRFs

In this interview afterwards he says a cone got caught in the wheel and he couldn't turn. Guess he should have been missing the cones to begin with but at least he has an excuse. - instntkrma, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22If by "free" you mean "$1.5 mil".
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21I wonder if Geico can still save him 15% or more on car insurance.
- dvddesign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19I guess he won't be able to opt out of that Deuce Bigalow 3 contract now, will he?
- Billiam627, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19Is anyone else starting to think those things are cursed?
- dvddesign, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22Whether or not he's selling photos, his line on his post is...
"I was at the crash and took pictures" I clicked the link, saw no pictures there, and went back and dugg it down. If you're going to brag about taking pictures of something, whether you're a pro photog trying to make a buck or not, on digg, the phrase that pays is: "pics or it didn't happen". - Cirrius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17By the way the barrier moves, it is obviously a portable barrier. Now why would ANYONE put a portable barrier near a turn on a cone track? A cone track is laid out on a flat concrete area, and one of the great advantages of doing this is so that you can spin exactly like he did with nothing to hit but cones.
- xlbartmanlx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16There is no way that was Eddie Griffin. The Undercover Brother can spin his car more then 360 degrees to parallel park without even spilling his big gulp! That had to be someone else. =)
On another note. The owners or the other Enzos must be happy...the value of their cars just went up a tad bit more. - terribly1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18The car shouldn't have had a problem in a turn like that. He wussed out, hit the brakes, locked them up and wrecked a nigh-priceless vehicle.
Nice goin'!. - glock22ownr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18He is going to have to pimp a lot of man-hos to pay that off !
- ZeroMP, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18What a douche-rocket. The car doesn't even belong to him and he seems pretty nonchalant about it after the fact. Bad idea to let other people drive your irreplaceable 1.5M toys.
- joeshlub, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17@mym6
No, you don't actually agree with him. What he said is that the idiot panicked on the turn, and instead of just taking it, slammed the brakes, locked them up, and slid into the wall. The least the ***** could have done is understood the concept of non-ABS brakes and pumped them. He clearly has been driving with ABS his whole life and doesn't know how to drive a real car. - ericdano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Idiot........you really suck now. Acting sucks. Driving sucks. Time to go work at McDonald's again dood.
- ScornForSega, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14What's that smell? Oh, it's prolly "Undercover Brother 2" released straight to DVD.
- marinist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14I think that was an idiot setup for all concerned.
Put yourself in a car like an Enzo, punch the gas, and you won't judge the braking distance either.
Then someone puts a concrete barrier that close to the course. WTF. - hunter360, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13In Eddie's defense: With all that track space they put, like, the only barrier at a tight corner. Why? On a race track, you PLAN for a driver to spin out, so you allow as much room as you can at corners.
LOL, we're all talking about this like it's a big deal. The producer is laughing at us cause he has 5 more Enzo's. - CedEx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14I didn't see any of the wheels lock up, nor did I see any cones stuck in the wheels.
He tried to corner too hot, and the tire lost grip and resulted in major understeer. Could be a whole bunch of factors like, cold tires, dirty track, and most importantly, inexperienced driver. - djm91, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12you know you have a nice car when people are more concerned about the car getting "hurt" than the person driving it
- glasnostic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13@glxyjones:
True true, the Top Gear guys do actually know how to drive, and I certainly would trust them with my own car then I would even trust myself, but still. That little chuck of video is going to play in the back of those car owners’ minds every time they had their keys over in the interest of good television.
With that said, I think there is an opportunity for a great show here in the tradition of “the crusher”.
Two uber-rich spend-a-holics are pitted against each other in a quiz to see how much they know about their own super car. The loser’s car is then handed to Eddie Griffin who then promptly crashes it into one of many obstacles chosen by spinning “the wheel of DENT-stiny”. -
