- Boshow, on 11/15/2007, -2/+50I don't have a problem with the outdoor pools but for some reason the indoor ones freak me out a little. I think it has something to do with that 'Are You Afraid of the Dark' episode.
- abandonedhero, on 11/15/2007, -0/+26The photograph of the pool in Pripyat (Chernobyl) is absolutely stunning.
- greenlight2001, on 11/15/2007, -2/+24no it's not.
- look4alec, on 11/14/2007, -1/+22Dugg for the people in the comments posting more pictures of disused pools than there are in the body of the article. Who knew there was so much interest in the dilapidation of contemporary natatorium infrastructure.
- Wamzlee, on 11/15/2007, -0/+20That picture of the swimming pool in Chernobyl is in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Nice!
- Rahodeb, on 11/15/2007, -0/+18I've finally found my fetish! fap fap fap fap.
- ophello, on 11/15/2007, -1/+17There's something terrifying about old, murky, algae-infested water in a pool.
- FilosopherStone, on 11/15/2007, -1/+16It is, and whats cool is that exact same pool is in Call of Duty 4 Chernobyl level.
- inactive, on 11/15/2007, -0/+14Only really breathtaking if you fall in and drown.
- Shawn4168, on 11/15/2007, -0/+13The Z-Boys would be all over this.
- Asianwaste, on 11/15/2007, -0/+11What's breathtaking is how you're easily amazed.
- BleedingEars, on 11/15/2007, -1/+12Never knew an abandoned pool could be so creepy. amazing pics
- natedouglas, on 11/15/2007, -0/+11Dugg for reckless sesquepedalian loquacity.
- bobman2007, on 11/15/2007, -0/+9Here's that episode: http://youtube.com/watch?v=XLmnSkT8BRw
- woofers07, on 11/14/2007, -0/+7did anyone else recognize the first pool from CoD4 (One Shot)?
- skyfire1, on 11/15/2007, -0/+7Would make a great skate park.
- Bakie, on 11/15/2007, -1/+8http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1341/538509044_a3ca ...
This pic reminds me of the pool in COD4 in Chernobyl. Its probably where they got their ideas. But I see no rabid dogs in the pic. - Jrepass, on 11/15/2007, -2/+8Reminds me of those pictures emo kids take, then tell you it expresses their souls and is true art.
- FriskDown, on 11/14/2007, -0/+5Someone needs to put a screen shot from Call of Duty 4 when you're escaping from Pripyat with MacMillan. There's a cool abandoned swimming pool with wild dogs in it!
- Azimuth1, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5The one with the red monster things? Scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.
- RainNIU, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5Cool, but looking at that ***** saddens me.
- charleyfeher, on 11/15/2007, -1/+6"Pictures of old, forgotten about swimming pools..."
...to skateboard in. - bmarc, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5This will hit CNN next.
- Asianwaste, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5To think, some of those places used to be nice neighborhoods.
- toppgun, on 11/15/2007, -1/+6this show is for the eighteen to twentysomething year olds back when nickelodeon was awesome
/ahhhh real mosters was my favorite - bobman2007, on 11/15/2007, -0/+4Here, this is a link to that part of the episode (part 3 of 3): http://youtube.com/watch?v=aK9HTYvdlzE
- nroth, on 11/14/2007, -0/+4Yep that sure brings back bad memories.
- FriskDown, on 11/15/2007, -0/+4Not a screen shot but here it is.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Prypiat_Pool.jp ... - xaryss, on 11/14/2007, -0/+4I agree that pic is creepy. Of course I find that most things that are abandoned are creepy (especially Cherynobyl).
- edstate, on 11/15/2007, -0/+4McGill. Trackers. 97a RatBones.
- phazon88, on 11/15/2007, -1/+5Pool's Closed!

- Boshow, on 11/14/2007, -0/+4I remeber that one, but I was actually talking about a different episode. Forgive me if my memory is off, but it was the one where there is some cult trying to bring back their leader by mixing certain chemicals in the schools pool at night. I know nightshade was one of the things in the recipie but I can't remember the rest.
- jboeke, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3Shameless plug for my flickr group: League of the Empty Pool

- inactive, on 11/15/2007, -1/+4What a waste of perfectly good skating potential!
- RealmDown, on 11/15/2007, -1/+4Close. It's sesquepedalian verbosity.
- greenamp, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3Something about the filled in pools with grass growing on top that really creeps me out.
- HyperDav, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3There's an entire abandoned water park by my house. It was called Racing Rapids, part of a theme park that was called "Santa's Village", which is also abandoned. I should go take some picks of that place.
- steppingrazor, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3Another shameless plug for my Rt.66 empty pool tour.

- DesuKN, on 11/15/2007, -1/+4This is someone's fetish
- unknown32, on 11/15/2007, -1/+3I got two reactions from these pictures.
1) COD 4
2) isn't it a little sad , how much land is wasted ? pricing of some places are going up because their is not enough of it, but places like these are just left to rot ? I understand if it became a ghost town but damn. - troycott, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2no diving
- nroth, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2I'm so glad there's other people out there with this problem.....this episode freaked me out when I was a kid! So funny....
- Sirlolalot, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2This is outragous! abandoning swimming pools like that, those poor pools :(
Remember people a pool is for life, not just for christmas! - Lapper, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2Where are all the rabid dogs?
- HeyArnold, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2Who would've thought that looking at abandoned pools would be so int resting?
- steppingrazor, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2And completely emptied and dry.
- dwninjungleland, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2One of the posters: "I have an interest in photographing old swimming pools but unfortunately never get to see any. I never get to see any though."
How, exactly, does one develop an interest in photographing old swimming pools? Especially if you never see any? Just my thoughts... -
