I was also pretty stylish for my age if you can tell ;) - fatcat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4
http://aotscalvinneedstherapy.ytmnd.com/ - zebov, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3ThinkBox, you did not; those are totally photoshopped.
EDIT: Note, sarcasm. - Arramol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Why is Devindotcom getting Dugg down for the sound of scientific progress?
(If you don't get it, it's a line from the comic, not an attack on modern science) - Hypermarkalan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Maybe it's his duplicate digging him down. Those pesky duplicates...you just can't trust'em!
- theRIAA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2LOL, my math teacher puts calvin and hobbes up on the projector every day before class, this month she was putting the snowman ones up.
- kevinmotel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6There's treasure everywhere!
- sloof70, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11This is absolutely my favorite comic strip. I own them all. It's great to see them get some appreciation.
- kewlito, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I really like the snowman ones. As you can see in my avatar.
- MEbuDDy6, on 10/12/2007, -18/+8http://www.torrentspy.com/torrent/800578/Calvin_and_Hobbes (Complete Series)
- VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38Alternatively, if you have 80 or 90 bucks to spare, The Complete Calvin & Hobbes is really quite nice.
- danz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13One of the few good things worth paying for.
- Hypermarkalan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Well, that, and the complete Far Side.
- theyat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow I haven't seen some of those in a long long time
this will keep me smiling for days - bergur1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1someone forwards me an email of those pics every year. JUST LOVE EM
- JesusIsSatan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30LOL. That made my Christmas. :) The real, true innocence of a child, unlike the lame puke of Family Circus and Charles Schultz' Peanuts.
- silversword990, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I agree Family Circus sucks, but Charles Schultz's Peanuts is a great comic. Peanuts is what inspired Bill Watterson to create Calvin as a character.
- rocketxsoul, on 10/16/2007, -0/+0Watterson recently wrote an article in the Wall Street Journal about Schulz, in light of David Michaelis' biography

- Hegemony, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Well, on that note I'm gonna go play a game of calvinball. First one to Q wins!

- sola, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Holy Smokes... I wrote those rules like 10 years ago. The site and rules(with images) now resides at:
http://www.simplych.com/cb_rules.htm
(Haven't dones anything with the site in in years...)
- Twango, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2LOL! THANKS! I needed that after working on Xmas all evening.
- 404notfound, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4As much as I enjoy Calvin and Hobbes, I don't see how this classifies as a "tribute."
- MrSunshine, on 10/12/2007, -18/+2The comic strips made me laugh, but...
> The man was a genius.
...made me mark it as inaccurate. - hartley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Here I was hoping for pictures of a real snowman tribute.
I'm slightly disappointed.- JamesConnolly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was too. I'd like to see this done, but where I am there's never enough snow.
- jakobmn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Here you go:

http://digg.com/design/Real_Life_Calvin_Hobbes_Snowman_Creations_(Direct_Link_)
- DigginTuesday, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Love it, I love "Boy on a stick and Slither" too, which was partly inspired by C&H.
- mrfloppy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7oh Mr Watterson, you never forgot what it was like to be a kid.
Why'd he have to go and retire like that :~(- LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7It's sad, I know, but what if Watterson had kept going past his prime with C&H like Garfield, Cathy, and Peanuts did? I, for one, am glad that Bill Watterson and Gary Larson ended their strips when they did because it leaves us with fond memories of the comic instead of "oh god, why are they still running this strip?"
- Hypermarkalan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2More cartoonists, authors, televisions shows and movie franchise owners, should follow their leads.
- tekmage3000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree, nothing last forever and I can't even look at the Sunday comics since they are so un-funny now! Better to have good work and leave than doing years worth of crap.
Tek
- mrfloppy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27...and while I'm at it - best Calvin ever:
- Calvin hammering nails into a coffee table
- mum: "Calvin, what are you doing?"
- Calvin: "Is this a trick question?"- a0me, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Dug. That's my favorite C&H quote ever too. Buy the books!
- Leviss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2its good to see that other people apreciate calvin and hobbes as much as i do!
- TheBlackNinja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Man I would love being able to do that AND do it, but it doesn't snow here. ):
*****, I have a whole ditch to do it where alot of people walk! - ruded0g, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The only bad thing about Calvin was when the strip was retired...........
Was and always will be the greatest cartoon strip every created! - bossm4n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I don't care how many times I see these, they never ever get old.
- emptysea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bill Watterson probably did the right thing - retire from drawing the strip while it was still "alive" and fresh, and not degenerating into some stale dreck like Family Circus or the like - reminds me of John Cleese and "Fawlty Towers" - he knew when to quit...
- wicheese, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3My Tribute - http://homepage.mac.com/wicheese/snowman/PhotoAlbum61.html
- Protean1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Argh, no snow in Portland :(
I always wanted to make that huge snowman peering over the hill :D - MrShmee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think I'll have to go dig out my Calvin and Hobbes books now... man they were awesome! Good link!
- samcloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The best time to read C&H is a rainy day
- sandbird, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1These just never get old... (raises a mug of hot cocoa to Watterson)
- CrashProof, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14The site missed one of the best snow art strips:
http://bbs.wiredminds.org/images/user_files/421b39e442220a229f04a.gif - redthumb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is wonderful, thanks for posting.
My daughter is a big fan and recently bought a Mini Cooper S. She always names her cars but was stuck on a name for this one. I christened it "Hobbes" for her spirit of exploring. - MeekoTheRaccoon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love Calvin and Hobbes.
I love these strips further, becuase growing up in Georgia (USA), an inch of snow closes everything, when we get it. - crashflow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3damn, i was hoping someone made these into real snowmen...
- GunsGermsSteel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I will always digg anything Calvin and Hobbes.
- kd1s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Bill Watterson was a perpetual six year old. I loved Calvin and Hobbes and was always particularly thrilled by the macabre snow man installations. Diggity digg digg digg!
- blastin311, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have the complete set of books. I love Spaceman Spiff and whenever he was in school. I could relate to his feelings of teachers. Plus, I'm a dreamer.
- AutumnDank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is awesome. I just wish that the strip with Calvin's battlewith the 2-headed snow goons was included...personal favorite right there!
- glowcat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No matter how many times I read Calvin and Hobbes, I still laugh. Best comic strip ever and always will be to me.
- yunfat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Watterson stopped writing Calvin and Hobbes because people were ripping it off and he was tired of going to court and enforcing his copyright. People made millions off of Calvin pissing on the "Ford" logo. Watterson never made a cent, and abhorred the use of his icons for such capitalistic purposes, it negated the purpose of the strip.
So, if you wan't to know why it's gone, its partly because of people ripping his strip and putting it on their site without paying royalties to Watterson. In essence, this Digg helped destroy Calvin and Hobbes forever, and increase the enmity Watterson has toward people copying his work.
It's not a tribute at all, more like a desecration.- molochi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You can walk into most national chain auto parts stores today and buy a "Calvin pissing on a Chevy logo." That Chevy logo is trademarked. I think GM should follow Watterson's lead and demonstrate this awful transgression of their intellectual property by ceasing production of Corvettes. Wait, that just sounds retarded. Nevermind.
What GM should really do is continue to produce cars as long as they want to. As finances permit, they should defend their trademark. I would think this would include a decal of a GM Trademarked character pissing on a Chevy logo, preferably one they paid Watterson to draw for a million bucks in licensing fees. Ford and Chrysler/Daimler should follow suit.

- yunfat, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Furthermore, I am disappointed in digg for allowing copyrighted works to be distributed illegally via their front page. It's disgusting. Wattersons words and images are copyrighted, and he deserves better than to have some bozo hand them out for free because he has a scanner and decides a "tribute" is in order. There should be moderation of comments that include copyrighted materials.
Digg should be held accountable.- molochi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Who is paying you to say this?
- BWhaler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I miss reading a new one each day like the day is long.
