- geekchic, on 10/10/2007, -7/+281You'd never see that in America, as there are too many steps for the average McDonalds customer to be able to walk up.
- supermanred, on 10/10/2007, -6/+137We have a similar one downtown Toronto in an old building, and the ones in Poland are real cool and have patios and menus and table service. Oh, and the burgers taste like real food in Europe. Nothing like what they do here. Consistency my ass, if you tried to sell the ***** they sell here in Europe you might as well burn the restaurant down to get some money back.
- calebhawk, on 10/25/2007, -2/+102this mcdonalds is fit for a burger king...
- krolm, on 10/25/2007, -13/+75where are all the obese people? oh wait..this isn't in america.
- Eslamicolt3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+52pretty cool indeed. Though this isn't the first time a McDonalds has conformed to its surroundings. I was in Salzburg and saw this. I thought it was pretty cool...

- dgrant, on 10/25/2007, -27/+66Europeans think McDonalds tastes like real food?
- openthink, on 10/10/2007, -2/+39looks like the federal reserve. they must have a couple atms, at least!
- BobsYourUncle, on 10/10/2007, -2/+33He didn't say he ate there exclusively. Christ, get your head out of your ass. Lots of people would eat something they are familiar with just to see the differences based on the country they were in. It's called curiosity. Get over yourself.
- Quaitemp, on 10/25/2007, -0/+25I think this is rather common in Europe. This is the local McDonald's where I live;
http://p.vtourist.com/2293497-Stock_Exchange-Drammen.jpg - rejoined, on 10/10/2007, -3/+24Looks like a McDonald's from the Roman times.
- moryarti, on 10/10/2007, -0/+20"Would you like to have the regular, super-size or our Gladiator special?"
- macl, on 10/10/2007, -0/+20Inside.
- bitcloud, on 10/10/2007, -6/+26So now this is not the only difference between Europe and the USA...
http://rgh.cc/displayimage.php?album=2&pos=-1995 - 35263526, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21What?
I'm British and there isn't a bit of difference between our McDonald's burgers and the ones I get when I cross the pond, nor is there any difference between the ones here and the ones I've eaten in France/Germany/Spain/Italy. - ngmcs8203, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18Technically it is. It isn't the US however.
- mypreciousss, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18and those aren't exercise shorts, those are capris.
- WoollyMittens, on 10/10/2007, -3/+20The fact that you kept trying 4 or 5 times is what keeps McDonalds in Business. Everytime I eat there is the last time.
- bluenova, on 10/10/2007, -2/+18Check out this one in Milan, Italy:

and from America:
http://www.wayodd.com/funny-pictures2/funny-pictures-new-mcdonalds-ad-zXj.jpg - MasterThief117, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17I wonder what the inside looks like.
- htaler, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14In Europe it's quite common to locate McD in old buildings, it's nothing special here.
- tim2788, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13To be quite honest that McDonalds is nothing compared to the one in Rome, Italy just outside of the Spanish Steps. It's the poshest McDonalds you will ever see! And they serve beer on tap!
- bubba9999, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Give them some time. It takes a while for McDonalds to take effect.
- Kyouto, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11@RoshanK
i dunno, that's a pretty big 403 from where i stand. - Twist05, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11There's also one in Shrewsbury, England. One of the exterior walls on the lower floor dates back to the thirteenth century.
- TygerrTygerr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10I think the main difference you don't see this sort of thing in the US is because in Europe you're going to looking at some buildings which are pretty old, possibly vaguely historic and so companies may make efforts, probably because they're forced to, to preserve the historical aspect. The US simply doesn't generally have buildings that old, certainly not scattered your average high street, to make it worth bothering with.
It's certainly more frequent for a business/shop to crap all over the architecture regardless of that, at least in the UK it is. Big plastic lighted signs, massive plate-glass windows replacing the original front of the building. You get the idea. - sizbo, on 10/10/2007, -9/+18I took a trip through Europe not long ago and ate at a McDonald's in 4 or 5 countries, and I've got to say that they ALL tasted pretty lousy. Burgers were oozing grease, fries were always soggy, and it may just be the country custom, but most of the drinks were flat and served sans ice. And I couldn't get a damn quarter pounder, of course (don't care what you say, the Royale is diff'rent!)
- librejustitia, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9You won't find many of those in Norway. None actually. It doesn't even have Starbucks. McDonalds and Burger King are as far as I know the only american food franchises currently in place. I could be wrong.
- suxmonkey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9I'll take Corinthean pillars over Golden Arches anyday
- iknoritesrsly, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10Title should be, "I'm an American who's never been abroad." :P
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8That image is as old or even older as the internet itself.
- Jaque, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8The reason it looks pretty decent, even on the inside, is that the building, the old National Bank of Kristiansand, is on the government protection list. Hence, its untouchable. Not uncommon in Norway.
- hasansexy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8WeDO have the quarter pounder.
- hulez, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9OHHH MAN, I'D LOVE TO GET FAT THERE
- Drevor, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8lets play find-the-fast-food ...

- Radnad, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8"I've got to say that they ALL tasted pretty lousy" Hum, remember, you're talking about Mc Donald's... nothing more normal than this.
- kent1146, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6No, it's not French. It's a play on the quote "Et tu, Brute?" from Shakespeare's Julius Ceasar. Which was in Latin. Educate yourself before you try to correct others.
- zaphod707, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8must say as living in europe: lot's of people do not got to this kind of fast food restaurants. these people who eat that crap...like everything
- nwoantibody, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6That's because nothing new with style is being built in the American continent. It's all being shipped to Dubai, China and India. Soon you'll have McDonalds in cardboard boxes, selling you hottdogs burnt with a lighter.
- benramadan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6By the same logic, then, that has to be one of the funniest digg comments i've ever read.
- TokenUser, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7McD's in Australia tastes better than the ones in the US. It has a lot to do with where the meat and produce is sourced ... some countries just have better quality produce. The burgers are all made the same, but if you start with crap, you end with crap - so putting better quality produce between the buns makes a huge difference in taste. Try a McFeast downunder - its almost as good as a real hamburger. Yes, I am an expat Aussie now living in the US. I have also eaten at McD's in Paris, London, Auckland, and Tokyo (because sometimes the in/out convenience allows you to get on the steets sightseeing a little faster).
- krisdt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Yes, we do. At least here in Norway!
- Error601, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Yea, BS. It's basically the same stuff everywhere. Some of us do travel and know Europeans willingly eat the same greasy crap so don't try to pull the snob thing.
- Kelmon, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8It all tastes pretty evil over here and, shockingly, looks nothing like the picture. If the ones in the US are worse then I'd rather eat the packaging. Come to think of it, that's a better option here as well...
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8The McDonald's in India is interesting as well...They friggin have people at the door to open it for you...oh and they have dishes like the Chicken McCurry Pan: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/151/359036031_4f121140e0.jpg
Seriously though...McDonald's is a luxury for these people
http://www.stateofnature.org/indianMcdonalds.JPG - srgtTarantula, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Someone had the munchies!
- TomUU, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5ahahah
- supernovasky, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Uh. There are two Americas. And there are many countries in them.
- ironlung, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Its in Pakistan: the police uniforms are Pakistani.
