- Division, on 10/21/2007, -1/+139Well that makes my refrigerator box castle look like crap...
- DiggDugglas, on 10/20/2007, -1/+79Incredible! I used to make cardboard fortresses when I was a kid. You basically just get a cardboard box and go inside of it. I'm not gonna lie to you though, this guy is probably better.
- woods620, on 10/20/2007, -6/+62And here I thought art meant chaining a dog up until it dies
- graemee, on 10/20/2007, -1/+50Too bad, as soon as Bond, James Bond uses the ashtray the car bursts into flame.
- maou, on 10/20/2007, -2/+32That cardboard Aston Martin DB5 is amazing. Complete with guns in the front AND rear!
- FyreGoddess, on 10/22/2007, -2/+27More pics at the sculptor's website: http://www.chrisgilmour.com/en.opere.html
- inactive, on 10/19/2007, -4/+26Those are absolutely FABULOUS.
- MerryMortician, on 10/20/2007, -1/+23When I'm homeless.. he is going to design my mansion.
- anjamerret, on 10/19/2007, -3/+24That is some work of art.
- cryptomystic, on 10/19/2007, -1/+21Where's the starving dog?
you call this art? (sarcasm) - jeremyduffy, on 10/20/2007, -2/+21That must take a looong freaking time.
- chewbacca77, on 10/20/2007, -1/+16I never thought I'd see someone's occupation described as "Cardboard Sculptor."
- DarkDx, on 10/19/2007, -0/+11Art: http://digg.com/offbeat_news/AMAZING_Realistic_Car ...
NOT art: http://digg.com/offbeat_news/Artist_Chains_Up_Dog_ ... - kaimana, on 10/20/2007, -1/+12wow, guy... she's standing there. How's your life going?
- awtripp, on 10/20/2007, -0/+10No no, Absolute Recycling.
- jf518, on 10/20/2007, -4/+13at least this guy is making a creative attempt, what are you doing?
- peterjmag, on 10/19/2007, -0/+9Dugg down for assuming that he actually uses a Dell. It's common knowledge that Dell is the best when it comes to cardboard boxes for forts, so how do you know that he's not just intelligently hoarding them from other, less-geeky people?
- chicaneuk, on 10/20/2007, -2/+10Better than starving a dog to death in the name of art at least!
- spudnic, on 10/19/2007, -0/+8I think that was the joke he was making. People seem to have missed it though...
- thall, on 10/19/2007, -0/+8Sarcasm and DIGG don't mix well
- vornan19, on 10/19/2007, -1/+8and the cardboard house I made for my cat from Dell computer boxes.
- Amazetbm, on 10/19/2007, -1/+8Man, that 007 Aston Martin DB5 is on point.
- inactive, on 10/19/2007, -1/+7The level of detail is pretty wild.
- Insomnya3AM, on 10/19/2007, -1/+7Chris' worst fear: Water.
- Flamekebab, on 10/20/2007, -2/+7THIS IS ART(A)!
Yeah, I'll get my coat.. - Spars, on 10/19/2007, -1/+5That's a lot of paper cuts.
- inactive, on 10/19/2007, -0/+4: |
...Read? Really? - bmc31190, on 10/22/2007, -0/+3When he sits in cars, he imagines himself in cardboard boxes.
- has2k1, on 10/19/2007, -3/+6Simply brilliant. The endless forms of art never seize to amaze me.
- kaimana, on 10/19/2007, -5/+8...and I thought my work was good.
http://img141.imageshack.us/my.php?image=n10912224 ..." target="_blank" - hammerpants, on 10/22/2007, -1/+4Yeah, I love the art, and I actually buried this story as spam. Reubenmiller just stole the pics from the artist's site and put them on his own with some ads. That's shameless.
- b16madman, on 10/19/2007, -0/+3jk, i can't read... that's not his blog
- RadicalEdward, on 10/19/2007, -1/+4Holy crap, at first you think this is just gonna be jank crap, but it's actually really amazing.
- tehseanzor, on 10/20/2007, -0/+3ya the bike chain alone must have taken forever
- hammerpants, on 10/19/2007, -1/+4I'll sell you my Xbox 360 box for half what I paid for it!
- xtc46, on 10/20/2007, -0/+2I wonder what the fortresses he built as a kid looked like. /jealous
- gak001, on 10/19/2007, -1/+3If for no other reason than the DB5, that gets a digg.
- TailsTheMan, on 10/19/2007, -0/+2I wonder if he jumps on it when hes done... cause I'd be way too tempted to do that.
- inactive, on 10/20/2007, -0/+2Great art! However I feel so tempted to smash it and pretend I'm the incredible hulk......
- MemoryDump, on 10/19/2007, -2/+4now I understand why my kids always rather play with cardboard boxes instead of all the toys I've gotten for them.
- DangerStepp, on 10/19/2007, -0/+2Proof that art and dedication to creativity is far from dead
- ryan899, on 10/22/2007, -3/+5I love the irony in the sculptures of the church!
- ellecon, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1Hey,Tate Gallery! I think we found something to replace the pile of bricks and the urinal!
- murkieworld, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1This proves that there are crazy people out there...
- thecurebr, on 10/20/2007, -0/+1This guys diserves a TV Show just like American Choppers. I would love to see him putting all this together. Amazing!
- hedgehog001, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1Awesome work!
- nullcodes, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1It kinda looks like 3D graphics renderings (and no I am not saying hey are), Pretty damn good .. I'd like to see his construction process .. must be quite involved.
- Kefka0, on 10/20/2007, -0/+1Crazy? This is just how this man chose to express himself and spend his spare time, and to judge that as crazy is a little closed minded. If you take a step back and look at the items he chose to recreate, auto's, bicycles, mostly expensive mechanical things, who's to say he wasn't trying to make a statement about the dependence of society today on truly spiritually weightless materialism and consumerism and the time spent working to buy these things? Perhaps that's reading way to much into it, but who knows... It's definitely great art though.
- tcpip4lyfe, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1Amazing is the only word available to describe these.
- TXaggie09, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1why?
