- akkibaba, on 10/10/2007, -3/+69And here I am, using my own two legs like a sucker.
- Cyberbladewolf, on 10/10/2007, -1/+43The visiting nurse became concerned about his health at 900 pounds? She doesn't sound to be that good of a nurse, I would think that health concerns would start popping up at at least 400 or 500.

- ZombyWoof78, on 10/10/2007, -8/+43How could he get that fat if he could not leave the house to get more KFC.
- SlackerCSB, on 10/10/2007, -5/+38Alright, if this wasn't embarrasing enough for the guy... "They covered the man with a blue tarp to shield him from onlookers"
A blue tarp?!? LOL - Desolite, on 10/10/2007, -6/+36Do you have any idea of how many bars of soap you could get outta that guy?
- satx, on 10/10/2007, -9/+31They should have used a harpoon.
- ctshrt, on 10/10/2007, -4/+20I understand that he may have a medical condition but WHO is feeding him? Do you care about him or are trying to help him kill himself?
- Vicujozobenaxod, on 10/10/2007, -36/+47We all wish Michael Moore the best.
- Sneakernets, on 10/10/2007, -8/+191+1=2... wow
- crushtheenemy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13the stench of that must have been awful
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13I'm afraid in a few years this will be common.
- reed311, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11They probably are "disabled" and get a check from the Government.

Where the fu** was she 700 pounds ago? - justinjacobs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9"Onlookers" quoted as saying:
"WTF is that fat guy doing under a blue tarp?" - sovereign3, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9We don't do "stones" here in the US.
No need to mock him guys. He's just doing a conversation for our Commonwealth friends. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8I thought that was a Bart Simpson reference.
- superguysteve, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10Ironic that they had to use a fork lift because the guy could not stop lifting his fork.
- Biskino, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Not sure why you got the digg down, I've got the same question myself. If the guy has a condition that compells him to eat then I've got a certain amount of sympathy for him (he obviously can't be happy) but who keeps bringing him food?
- AdamFromMyspace, on 10/10/2007, -8/+16delivery?
"just set it on one of my flabs" - nagumi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8So we're clear, he has a disease that makes him constantly feel like he's starving to death AND causes mentally retardation!
So, retarded man constantly feels like he hasn't eaten in days. I'd say he has a pretty good excuse for being fat...
What's your excuse for being an *****? - Gustomucho, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Prader-Willi Syndrome has no cure, however, several treatments are in place to lessen the condition's symptoms. Growth hormone replacement therapy improves body composition and increases linear height. During infancy, subjects should undergo therapies to improve muscle tone. Speech and occupational therapy are also indicated. During the school years, children benefit from a highly structured learning environment as well as extra help. Throughout their lives, the subject's food should literally be kept under lock and key, since the largest problem associated with the syndrome is severe obesity.
From wiki, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prader-Willi
That is a sad genetic disorder. - Eljefedeath, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Every few years one of these stories pops up. It always makes me wonder what they do for a living, they have to pay rent and a huge food bill.
Ideas? - JBCougar, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9This story has been weighing heavy on my mind all morning.
- timusca, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Sadly, most of these people have a family member feeding them all of this crap. The fat-one typically guilts the family member into giving them food. Its horrible because the family member likely knows he/she shouldn't give any food to him, but the fat-one will use pyschological tactics to get what they want. The only way to break the habit is to hire a 24-hour live-at-home dietician and chain the refrigerator.
I saw all of this on Discovery Health one night. - moofer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Another pic:
http://tinyurl.com/229ya6 - housecoat, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7He has Prader-Willi--so along with an insatiable hunger, he's likely to be mentally retarded. I'd consider those two things before I accused someone of being lazy.
That said, someone should do a better job looking after him. I've worked with people with Prader-Willi, and I can't imagine giving one of those people their own credit card. - EzarKun, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9in the computer world 'Prader-Willi Syndrome' can be related to a Memory leak...
- moofer, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8it reminds me of those frogs that crawl into a hole in a tree and start eating bugs. Pretty soon, they're too big to get out of the hole the entered through, so they live their whole life inside the tree.
- minorthreat, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6bloggers
- nagumi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5why didn't he think to get help? prader willy also usually causes mental retardation.
*****. - Hayes, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6PIC: http://www.boxcarpress.com/us/images/newspace-1215 ...
Okay, seriously though, here's a real pic:
http://news.yahoo.com/photo/070919/480/926d42e921a ... - silveravnt, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6And by "Government" you mean "Me and you buy his KFC"
- Exodust, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6He has a disease honey... chill, have a cookie
- sl33stak, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5To me what is just as disturbing as this man's state of being is the fact that something so humiliating needs to be broadcast to world and labeled as "news". This SHOULD have been a somewhat private matter and not a sensationalized media event. Sad.
- fhernand, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5reminds me of human Bender
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Welfare and/or social security.
To be fair the guy has a disease, Prader-Willi Syndrome. From my little understanding of it even gastric bypass surgery can't fix this. - reed311, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5He's in the US, so only pounds are an acceptable form of measurement.
- skankyBacon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Maybe it is in your time zone.
- choppinbroccoli, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Dirty, you say?
Need some soap? - moofer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4His name was Robert Paulson.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Hambone references should always be dugg up.
- Tebixan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Prader-Willi is a very real mental illness. People who have it never stop feeling hungry, and some have eaten themselves to death. It's very sad, and the blame should rest on this guys family for letting him eat as much as he wanted
- doktorzee, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Only in America is there some BS medical condition on the books for EVERYTHING!
- ncmcdonald, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4They had to cut a square hole for a round man
- moofer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+32nd reference here to his diet being confined to KFC. Love it.
- nagumi, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4prader wily, the disease he has, causes mental retardation and constant, 24/7 hunger. The person feels constantly ravenous and usually barely has the mental capacity to understand it.
So, he has an excuse for being fat. What's your excuse for being an *****? - omnithought, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3So, did he get the Sword of a Thousand Truths?
