- panicoffice, on 09/30/2009, -0/+17yo, no joke. I'm from Chicago and i'm at my wits end here. I'm ready to pull a crazy ass stunt like this myself. Our mayor is SO crooked it's ridiculous. First they changed all the parking meters to these automated booths, that you have to pay and then come back to your car and put a stub on your windshield. So now, I get one, but my windshield is facing the wrong way. So i put the stub in my drivers side window, in clear sight. i'm sitting at a table drinking coffee, and the meter maid comes by and writes me a ticket. I storm over there, going WTF?! There's the stub. It's right there! She says "you're supposed to put that on your dash. I'm ticketing you for improper display." I was like...so you saw the receipt and you're ticketing me anyway?! She says look I took a picture of your license plate, and your dash without a ticket stub. If you want to contest it and take a day off from work, and show up, and argue with a photograph of your dash without the parking stub, be my guest. $50. How you like that *****!?
Now, they install these red light cameras every 4 blocks. Here's the trick. You know how you pull into the middle of the intersection on green, and there's all this traffic. So you wait for the light to turn yellow/red, the cars coming accross stop, and you make your turn. Well these cameras snap you for that, and you get a ticket. And you show up to contest it, and there's 300 people there on the same charge. They say "to save time we're going to have one hearing for ALL of you." The judge says, "is there indisputable proof that the car is in the intersection on a red light?" The court assistant says "yes". The judge says "guilty. Pay the fine please"
Can you believe this *****?! Chicago has gone totally off the deep end with this mayor. Their budget is crap because they keep giving city construction contracts to the mob who do half the job for double the price, and then to make up the deficit, they raise our property taxes, and start implementing BS ticketing policies.
I'm seriously going to lose my mind with them. I'm voting for ANYBODY BUT DAILY in the next election, and anybody and everybody in Chicago needs to do the same thing! - Gudeldar, on 09/30/2009, -0/+15I was expecting the article to say that he got shot 35 times after pulling the BB gun out. This guy is obviously either senile or suicidal, sane people who want to continue living don't pull out something that looks like a gun and point it at a cop in the middle of a police station.

Chicago is ***** when it comes to traffic tickets. The entire city has red-light cameras with short yellows ($100 each). To park on the North side, you need a city sticker, a neighborhood sticker, and most streets STILL have parking meters that are on 15 hrs a day, 7 days a week. The minimum you'll pay to stop your car in the Loop is about $20. - jcrs, on 09/30/2009, -0/+2Seeing as that is one of the nicest Police stations I've seen in a long time, and that he looks fairly well dressed, and that the officer walked around and "took" the gun from him rather than tasering him or just shooting him in the face, I'd say this is a fairly nice area of Chicago's suburbs. Reilly probably thinks he runs the freaking place. I hope they give him jailtime... but they won't.
