gotta agree with this part - you don't get inspiration everyday - but just writing, without thinking of what people might think of what you wrote, can do wonders for your writing skills. Just write. You'll never know what gems you might find in the trash ;) - jcaino, on 10/22/2007, -0/+157 is the new 10.
"now with 3 less steps!" - cokelly, on 10/29/2007, -0/+13I agree with every single one of these points - As a writer by profession, getting “stuck” isn’t an option.
- anjamerret, on 10/22/2007, -0/+12Good points. Especially the one about writing rubbish. Many people don't carry on cause they want to write perfect material every time.
- akatherder, on 10/22/2007, -0/+9I just wanted to leave a comment about this arti... I really enjoyed reading this article and wanted to... I was having a bad day until I came to digg for these tips on writ... DAMNIT!
- taintedzodiac, on 10/22/2007, -0/+8If all seven are "can't miss," why do we need the other six?
- ritubpant, on 10/22/2007, -0/+7well written
- aaronmp2003, on 10/22/2007, -0/+7I like the one about being able to write crap guilt free. If you don't feel like every word has to be a masterpiece, you'll get into the flow much more easily.
- Mouse13, on 10/22/2007, -0/+7Great article but did anyone else notice it was written by Dave Navarro? Surely not the same one from Jane's Addiction.
- reversekilled, on 10/22/2007, -0/+6I find heavy drinking melts writer block right away

You don't know how many emails I get for him .... - betterfasternow, on 10/22/2007, -0/+4Anne Lamott says it best:
"For me and most of the other writers I know, writing is not rapturous. In fact, the only way I can get anything written at all is to write really, really ***** first drafts."

Because you might not be in the mood to do several of them. Writer's block is psychological ... and you're in different moods at different times.
(Good question though!) - neko6, on 10/22/2007, -0/+3Remind me that NaNoWriMo is coming soon, perhaps I shall participate this year?

Spoon-meister kinda sound like a 12 year-old anyway. - betterfasternow, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2Perfection doesn't get you anywhere ('cause it doesn't exist). Just write constantly and your writing will always improve.
- jophillips, on 10/29/2007, -0/+2oh I see what you did there....

- alperea, on 10/22/2007, -3/+2If you run out of headlines--write a top ten list about the Iphone or Apple. Then post it to digg. Better yet, just post someone else's list and put it on your personal blog, then add a couple of sentences to claim it your own.
- crashflow, on 10/29/2007, -3/+1just make they end up in the trash...
- Spoomeister, on 10/22/2007, -2/+0FTA:
1. Write nothing but headlines.
2. Write ‘crap’ without feeling guilty.
3. Schedule regular time and show up, even if you think you can’t write.
4. Write about how you solved a problem.
5. Edit older articles.
6. Type out other people’s articles.
7. Add your tips to this list in the comments section below.
In other words, to kick-start the writing habit... post to Digg regularly.
