- thatsmyaibo, on 10/11/2007, -9/+230I heard if he got 1 more right, he would have passed. Unfortunately when they asked him what the farthest planet in our solars system from the sun was, he said Pluto.
- drinkGreen, on 10/11/2007, -9/+136he's not doing it for the accomplishment. he's doing it for money and women.
- darkyplasma, on 10/11/2007, -15/+128a couple things I'm going to say.
1. this man is obviously trying his best to make an accomplishment before he dies
2. he is strong willed and will inspire a lot of others out there to keep trying.
3. and those of you that will put him down>shame on you! - helinism, on 10/11/2007, -4/+113Job and marriage prospects at 73? After all those years of anticipation that would be a marriage with a lot to live up to!
- d00ley, on 10/11/2007, -15/+106Breaking News: Spoiled kid in America thinks he's better than other people.
- dmegivern, on 10/11/2007, -7/+92This man needs a better tutor.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+69he made it to 73, must have been doing something right all those years.
- d00ley, on 10/11/2007, -1/+61You understand that he NEVER had any formal education, right?
- secleinteer, on 10/11/2007, -4/+61For those of you that don't know much about the high school exams in India, the 10th grade board exam is an extremely difficult test, which Indian high-schoolers spend all of 10th grade reviewing for. It's not like this guy is failing 10th grade in the US (now THAT would be pathetic).
- THX1212, on 10/11/2007, -0/+40Poor bastard. Just give him his diploma already.
- EmiranS, on 10/11/2007, -11/+49Not fans of Mike Judge films, are we?
- rhoadesb, on 10/11/2007, -2/+35"A 73-year-old man ... vowed ... to try again ... in the hopes that an education will improve his job and marriage prospects."
He's no quitter. And he's a heck of an optimist. I can admire that with or without a diploma. - NumberFour, on 10/11/2007, -3/+36tell me where you go to work at after med school so I can make sure never to go there
- nreynolds, on 10/11/2007, -3/+31people dugg it. that's how the website works.
- FJRRulz, on 10/11/2007, -3/+30There is NO WAY Kevin Federline is 73 years old.
- nreynolds, on 10/11/2007, -3/+26he's not doing it for the money/women, he's doing it so he can prove to himself that he deserves the money/women. That's pretty noble.
edit: maybe not, but that would make a better story. - sanman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24And the sad thing is, it's the same exam questionnaire being given every time.
And every time he takes it, his score gets lower. - skydivingdutch, on 10/11/2007, -0/+22"he's not doing it for the accomplishment. he's doing it for money and women."
How is that not an accomplishment? - ch33sehead, on 10/11/2007, -2/+22I dunno why the ***** kelp is getting dugg down. He was replying to woobster's obviously naive comment that this old man needs an Asian (to tutor him or cheat for him or whatever) while failing to realize that he is Indian, and India is part of Asia. That makes him Asian.
- melikbilge, on 10/11/2007, -1/+19That's sad, but I think he should attempt another method to study for the test if he can't pass for the 40th time.
- JimV, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17He's almost 80. It doesn[t say that he's taken it every year.
- DAVIBE, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16no wonder, he didn't even do his 1st through 9th grade, He didnt receive a formal education as a child.
too poor for school, i guess. He problaby had to work to support his family.
and its harder to learn something especially when u age.
Props to this guy for trying. - THX1212, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15This guy needs some tutoring. I wonder how hard the Indian SAT is. I'd be willing to chip in a few dollars to get him a high quality tutor. It can't cost much over in India.
- THX1212, on 10/11/2007, -5/+18He gets an 'A' for effort.
- bobangitanov2, on 10/11/2007, -48/+61Don't worry scro.. now there are plenty of 'tards out there living really kick ass lives. My first wife was 'tarded. She's a pilot now.
- cdharrison, on 10/11/2007, -8/+21@bobangitanov2 ... sad that so many people are unaware of the genius that is Idiocracy.
- dRuNk3nIrIsHmEn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11dugg down for being too stupid to hit [reply]
- luckynas, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10this man deserves a diploma because of his courage
i dont even think most of people are actually qualified to pass high school
i've got a female friend who passed highschool after doing hengky pengky with my teacher - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9The guy should move to America where he can get a GED just for spitting on a schoolyard, then return to India and develop software for Microsoft.
- THX1212, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10The guy is probably a poor fellow from the lower castes who never got enough to eat as a child. India has real poverty, not like American "poverty," where the poor are more likely to be grossly obese than paper thin. Undernourishment has probably impaired his brain development. Not his fault, but unfortunately it puts him in a tough spot when it comes to getting an education.
- scabbers, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9The trouble is that this might be the thing keeping him going. A lot of people die shortly after they retire - maybe he'll pass the exam and promptly die.
Or he might have another 30 years.
Quitting IS for losers. - TeamRocket, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Will Harvard give the man an Honorary Degree Already!!
- korashime2001, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10"Sometimes, your purpose in life, is simply to serve as an example to others."
- dRuNk3nIrIsHmEn, on 10/11/2007, -4/+11Since when is being 73 years old almost being 80? Is 13 almost 20?
- leetdood, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10coasters2k: You say that... but have you ever heard of the Darwin Awards?
- BugMeNot2, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9It's like something straight outta The Simpsons.
- tehbored, on 10/11/2007, -2/+81. create some kind of device for extracting the pure essence of failure
2. Find this man
3. Extract his failure in pure form
4. ???
5. Profit! - Ibox, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6FTA: "atav passed only one subject — the ancient language of Sanskrit — and he said he scored just 103 out of a total of 600 in the examinations."
how long is this test?... anyone have any insight? - Anthem26, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7obviously that guy isn't the only one who hasn't passed tenth grade....
cough* woobster cough* cough* - tehWyman, on 08/19/2009, -3/+9What's that quote about people making something idiot proof but the universe always wins by making a better idiot?
- yoshitomi, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8No, but 13 is going on 30!
- GawtMilk, on 10/11/2007, -20/+26@kelp
I think I speak for all of Digg when I say, what the ***** are you talking about? - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -8/+14You americans should elect him as your president.
- jasonliman, on 10/11/2007, -5/+11"Still, he has no regrets. "I am a happy and contented person," said Jatav."
good attitude - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7@naidwell
What? The guy lives in India. Life expectancy in India isn't *that* much lower than it is in the US. He's doing better than average, but he's not a miracle. - wonkavsn, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9Wow! Thanks detective!
- therightclique, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7do you get any bonus for being a douche?
- milkbot, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6This sounds like Ricky from Trailer park boys.
- Fooord, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5"If you make something idiot-proof, the universe creates a better idiot."
- benjaxez, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Aww I think this is sad.
