- awesometown, on 11/05/2009, -0/+33This article runs contrary to its stated purpose. Now I'm MORE tempted to try these. Especially the electrified pickle.
- Xiru, on 11/06/2009, -0/+28Watt an awesome article.
- ftc08, on 11/05/2009, -0/+26I'm sorry cracked, but your don't do this at home warning is not going to stop me from trying to illuminate every vegetable in the produce aisle.
- ygugsa295, on 11/06/2009, -0/+13I thought it was oddly revolting. If I were to try these, the resulting fire would push me out of house and ohm.
- airwalke, on 11/06/2009, -0/+12Articles like these are bound to meet some level of resistance... although, I'm not sure many people would have the capacity to try these expiraments on their own.
- sock2828, on 11/06/2009, -0/+9The plasma speaker blew my mind.
- TrainByte, on 11/06/2009, -0/+8Frankenfrog? I think I just puked a little.
- ihatediggcom, on 11/05/2009, -0/+8its pretty obvious that the label don't try this, especially when used by cracked, is not really what it means.
- ricksite, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7I <3 Tesla.
- tdmeth, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7Science: It Works, Bitches.
- nocturne81, on 11/06/2009, -0/+6You have to wonder who would try and conduct something as silly as this...
- CaptainCumshot, on 11/06/2009, -2/+7K. Go make a glowing pickle and eat it while it's glowing.
- dvsbastard, on 11/06/2009, -0/+5I'll be trying most of these at home...
- 0tis, on 11/06/2009, -0/+5Well, it's not "trying it at home" if you leave them in the supermarket while you do it.
- johneyoung, on 11/06/2009, -0/+4Most of them just need an outlet, that's why.
- yocouchdigga, on 11/06/2009, -1/+4"Hold me now"!?
- gadgetlust, on 11/06/2009, -0/+3Apparently "Hold Me Now" is now badass.
- Worktruck, on 11/06/2009, -0/+3Funny, in high school we never got so fancy with our pickles we would just cut a cord off of any random appliance and just stick both ends in to the pickle. Well when I say we my friend did. This seems a whole hell of a lot safer that what he did.
- davin3000, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2I was beginning to worry that the plasma ball in the microwave would start a resonance cascade...
- theonlywizdum, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2That wire that goes under the "suction cup" is charged with over 25,000v, with enough amps to fry you and a few hundred other people. That wire can stay charged for many years.
- CrimsonFlash, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2I've made a lifter (#4) many times before. It's not as crazy as it sounds. Quite easy to make. How I got the power was actually a CRT monitor. You attach the positive wire to just after the capacitors (or in some cases, directly under the suction cup that comes from the power cord,) and the ground wire is attached anywhere else. We figured we got around 50K volts out of it. (Most models you need at least 40K to have thrust.)
If you are smart around electricity, I don't see what you can't do/make any of these. - haikuFU, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2I thought it was a Bohr.
- Maxman92, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2Ohm my god guys....
- Turris, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1We did the electric pickle in my high school physics class. It was ***** awesome.
- tacojohn48, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1The pickle lamp stinks. It smells like a burning pickle.
- koldmilk, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1sure.
- dawgma, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1Yep. Buildin' a plasma speaker now.
- PhillyOC, on 11/06/2009, -2/+3I just did. See, nothing happened.
- denizen42, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1No *****?
- irishjays, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or as random as a blaster, but an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.
- demonicume, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1yup, i'm headed to lowes to get the ***** to build me a plasma speaker. will someone sing Danny Boy, record it and then play it thru my speakers at my funeral?
- Fr0stbyte124, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1That frog in the last video was being moved by servos, which somehow makes it even weirder.
- zip000, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1It is interesting, but I'm not sure I buy that video. I need some more examples.
- Damion67, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1Great article, nice to see something fresh. I love the potato one.
- PhillyOC, on 11/06/2009, -6/+1This article is complete *****. These experiments are not dangerous in any form at all.
They just don't want us to have any fun.
