- sciencebase, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1It's funny how it's all the so-called 2.0 sites are the biggest source of online procrastination...
I've even created a version 2.0 of sciencebase.com to help in this endeavour - Sangatious, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Seems like a good article, I'll read it, eventually...
- devmode, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I'll read it later.
@Sangatious: beat me to the punch ... guess I procrastinated commenting longer than you. - ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I know it's been said, but seriously. Ditch Digg (there's a pun dying to come out there..).
I installed the TimeTracker extension for firefox, which simply counts the hours/minutes in the day in which firefox is open with focus; excluding a whitelist of valid sites (such as your corporate site, etc).
In the average 8 hr work day, I get between 2-3 hrs in firefox; mostly because of digg. That's about 25% of my day.
I reset my settings recently, but over the course of about a month, I believe it said about 40 hours wasted.
I'd say we should all install it, and hav contests for getting the lowest time wasted. But then... that sounds kind of like a waste of time. - tomisina, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2amphetamines.
