Wife: Here's a phone, call someone who cares.
Me: Does this mean no chocolate syrup??? - mateo60, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I'd be so afraid to know how much digg.com really kills my productivity. Now, I should get back to watching Scrubs.
- devmode, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I'll read it later.
@Sangatious: beat me to the punch ... guess I procrastinated commenting longer than you. - IronKurton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Unless you work in a large company, where a clean desk is a result of the clean desk policy...
- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5A clean desk is a clean mind.

Yeah, cause my wife always gets freaky with me when I meet my goals. - ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I know it's been said, but seriously. Ditch Digg (there's a pun dying to come out there..).
I installed the TimeTracker extension for firefox, which simply counts the hours/minutes in the day in which firefox is open with focus; excluding a whitelist of valid sites (such as your corporate site, etc).
In the average 8 hr work day, I get between 2-3 hrs in firefox; mostly because of digg. That's about 25% of my day.
I reset my settings recently, but over the course of about a month, I believe it said about 40 hours wasted.
I'd say we should all install it, and hav contests for getting the lowest time wasted. But then... that sounds kind of like a waste of time. - tomisina, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2amphetamines.
- PaulOwen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+253: Don't read digg articles aimed specifically at writers but advertised as being for everyone.
Especially when the number one is:
"Set a quota of pages written per day."
(what?) - IronKurton, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1152. Digg down redundant and unneeded comments.

Done and done!!! - pbaehr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Thank you. As much as I love being linked to blogs which post a tiny fraction of a story before linking to the original, I appreciate a shortcut.
- nixdoctor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Nice tips... Many of them apply for non-writers too.
- diizy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i was to say, it really is not very usefull to link to lifehacker which simply re-links you back to that site, thanks!
- dopesick, on 10/12/2007, -9/+7Stop reading self-help / modivational websites and get your ass off your PC and get some work done.
- sciencebase, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1It's funny how it's all the so-called 2.0 sites are the biggest source of online procrastination...
I've even created a version 2.0 of sciencebase.com to help in this endeavour - CaptShmo, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Put an axe through computer monitor.
- Snowcone, on 10/12/2007, -23/+951. Block digg.com at your gateway/proxy.
