http://www.snopes.com/photos/boats/badlaunch.asp - SillyRabbits, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9From TFA, it's 1.2 million base, but about 2 million once it's outfitted with the typical additions (some people like to actually have NAV equipment, furniture, working faucets, and stuff like that on their boats).

- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7...Almost as fast as this website went 404.
- CatsAreGods, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7Try this link for better photos and droll humor:
http://www.cargolaw.com/2007nightmare_marquis.ride.html - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5i can has a picturez section already?
- Beaupedia, on 09/28/2008, -2/+3Dead already. 124 Diggs. Any alternatives?
- Specul8, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2This appears to simply be a botched lift. Anybody with a little marine experience can tell from the pics that the wind isn't blowing very hard and I sure can't understand how wave action (conspicuously absent in the photos BTW) could possibly effect it when it is 45 feet in the air.
- CatsAreGods, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Better put some ice on that.
- joshf52, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2GOB?

- Error601, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Doesn't look like it got any major damage...just a bit moist on the inside.
- madmariner, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1That's why the site hired a reporter to look into it and that's why the story was written - the pictures are almost too good to be true, but they check out under intense scrutiny.
- madmariner, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0There are so many marine terms that make me laugh. That's just one of them.

- spawnfree, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2i wonder how much an extra strap to go underneath and hold the two slings together would have cost.
Seriously; a curved wet boat is supposed to grip onto a sling? what were they thinking? how long have they been doing this? - FaT32, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1It's a motor yacht, so I don't care :)
