- dgcarbs, on 05/14/2009, -1/+56I'll take a wild guess and say that it was ammonia and bleach which when mixed create chlorine gas
- gvoakes, on 05/14/2009, -0/+31I ***** hate it when people leave their ***** in the fridge at work.
- twiztidsinz, on 05/14/2009, -0/+25Ammonia + Bleach for that extra clean clean.
- CaptObvious, on 05/13/2009, -2/+20Reporting fail. They don't mention what two chemicals were mixed together. What if I mix the same?
- Pinkertinkle, on 05/14/2009, -0/+9Fair enough, since it was probably those employees that left all that food in the fridge for months.
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -0/+9So you threw away my gnats?
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -0/+8The only reason anyone would mix those two chemicals (I'm assuming ammonia and bleach here), is because they didn't know that it was dangerous. Who the ***** would mix them for ***** and giggles?
- foursixseven, on 05/14/2009, -1/+9Ammonia and bleach mixed, I bet. I have done it accidentally.. I used a cleaner like CLR in a really stubborn toilet and then poured in bleach afterwards to soak. Instantly created chlorine gas, made me light headed. I had to sleep elsewhere that night because of the noxious fumes.
- themastersb, on 05/14/2009, -0/+7Beat me to it.
- madk, on 05/14/2009, -0/+6Inaccurate title police here to save the day!
- CrazySpaniard, on 05/14/2009, -0/+5I thought it would be about a very ugly fridge =(
- Calcularius, on 05/14/2009, -0/+5Reminds me of a Cowboy Bebop episode.
- JohnnyMarr, on 05/14/2009, -0/+4You know what probably did it? Ammonia and-- oh, wait...
- npba45, on 05/14/2009, -0/+3We have this problem at work. Best solution: clean everything out on the last day of the month. Tell everyone to get everything out or it's all gone.
I have seen six month expired milk, plates full of mold, completely decomposed fruit, gnats, etc.
On the flip side people feel the need to put cans of soup, ramen noodles still in the package, bottled watter (when we have a water purifying system), ketchup (when we get it for free), and lots of other stupid things in there. - jakeny, on 05/14/2009, -0/+3OK!!! Who fapped in the fridge?
- megaton, on 05/14/2009, -0/+3They mention the woman doing the cleaning didn't have to be treated because she had surgery and couldn't smell anything.
Chemicals don't give a ***** if you can smell, so it wasn't them. The people were just being wusses.
EDIT: Didn't realize the linked article wasn't the one I read earlier. Check out a better (read: doesn't make asinine assumptions for the sake of sensationalism) article/video that mentions the above here: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090513/ap_on_fe_st/od ... - Spanq, on 05/14/2009, -0/+2*****, for sure.
- cowsgonemadd3, on 05/14/2009, -0/+2weeeee
- bradmw2, on 05/14/2009, -0/+2Yes. PANIC!
- Carlheanerd, on 05/14/2009, -0/+2This is somehow Dwight Schrute's fault.
- bradmw2, on 05/14/2009, -0/+2Are you affected by the Fridge Pandemic?
- jasonresno, on 05/14/2009, -4/+6FRIDGE PANDEMIC ALERT WHO
- gnixon70, on 05/14/2009, -0/+2Why our fridge at work is emptied every Friday at closing and food is thrown away at that time.
- redxii, on 05/14/2009, -0/+2I dunno.. Ghost Busters?
- volitor8555, on 05/14/2009, -0/+1I once worked at a place where a woman literally left her ***** in the fridge. Claimed she needed a stool sample for her doctor visit later that day. Crazy.
- mine4321, on 05/14/2009, -0/+1Bitch threw out my Kimchi
- bizkit00, on 05/14/2009, -0/+1oh man, i work with koreans, and old kimchi does not bode well for a fridge... worse, they tell me they prefer it 'aged', and leave it on purpose.
- bcr8u, on 05/14/2009, -0/+1nah
- surindravg, on 05/14/2009, -0/+1or in a dorm
- Torx, on 05/14/2009, -0/+1Baking Soda.

- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -0/+1Is that the episode where it ends up being Lupus?
- Calcularius, on 05/14/2009, -0/+1Toys in the Attic.
- CaptOblivious, on 05/14/2009, -0/+1If you deep fry them they taste just like gnat flavored popcorn!
They're hard to make by the bucket tho... - inactive, on 05/14/2009, -0/+1At my work, it's only the boss that does that. Freaking annoying.
- CaptOblivious, on 05/14/2009, -0/+1Thats exactly how my wife feels about the stuff!
- elperegrino, on 05/14/2009, -0/+1*I'm* sickened by this fridge (=29)

- kingmustard, on 05/14/2009, -1/+1This article reminded me of an episode of House.
- indyfilmaker08, on 08/19/2009, -0/+0Maybe someone left cat food or something in the ref.
http://www.wysong.net/ - Ebacherville, on 05/14/2009, -1/+1here we go blaming a object for people getting hurt, It was the person that sickened the people.. not the refrigerator.. Refrigerators can't mix chemicals or even open there own door!!
The dumb ass mixing chemicals sickened the others... not the fridge
Just like the "guns kill people" argument.. no guns don't kill people, people kill people!!
WHat kind of a magical world do people live in where fridges mix chemicals and guns walk around aiming and shooting at people? - 1smartguy, on 05/14/2009, -3/+2Pro tip from 1smartguy: If you have fridge that breaks down and stinks, use an electronic air cleaner that does not have a catalytic converter on it, like Ionic Pro to deodorize and kill mold and other microorganisms in it. They generate ozone which is actually used commercially to deodorize and kill molds. It wont generate as much ozone as a dedicated ozone generator, but you can place the offending refrigerator in a closet or other small room with the electronic air cleaner. Of course leave the door closed, and let it run for a couple of weeks.
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -6/+4why? Seriously..WHy do people feel the need to post ***** headlines?
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -11/+1Comment fail..(and not just for using the word FAIL as a noun which was NEVER clever. let alone 6 months later) They intentionally don't mention it so people won't try it out.
