- namja23, on 11/11/2009, -0/+37Wow, I didn't expect so many of the turnouts to be, "World still here".
Sorry if that was a spoiler. - badqat, on 11/11/2009, -1/+29lol...I predict that we're all doomed! Doomed, I say!
However, I'm not seeing a date or time...I just know it's going to happen. - brad3378, on 11/11/2009, -1/+28Has there ever been a time in the past 100 years when somebody was not trying to scare the ***** out of somebody else?
In the 1910s we were terrified by World War 1
In the 1920s it was Prohibition
In the 1930s it was the dust bowl and the Great Depression.
In the 1940s we were frightened by WW II
In the 1950s we built bomb shelters in our own backyards
In the 1960s we learned to hide under our desks during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
In the 1970s we were frightened by Gas prices and Global Cooling
In the 1980s we were afraid of Russian commies and inflation.
In the 1990s we were afraid of the hole in the Ozone layer, Global warming, etc.
In 2001 we feared terrorists.
Now it's health care, the economy, and Glenn Beck.
Some things never change. Some people will say anything to sell a newspaper.
Call me a skeptic, but I think we will somehow survive. - ILoveBoobies, on 11/11/2009, -2/+29Sheeple

- ThatNeilDude, on 11/12/2009, -1/+18My prediction for 2012: The United States will have a Presidential Election
Did you know I can see the ***** future? - buttle, on 11/11/2009, -0/+162012 predictions are often not about the end of the world. it's an end of a cycle. and a beginning to a new one. it's an interesting concept. but, but nothing more.
- Harabeck, on 11/11/2009, -2/+18You couldn't think of anything stupid enough to say about the article, so you say something stupid and unrelated? You are one devoted man.
- jayjayjoni, on 11/12/2009, -0/+12what the hell?
- trolleyfan, on 11/12/2009, -0/+12Good luck with that...given no one seems to have made that connection the *other* twelve-hundred times prophets were shown to be *****.
- eastwood24, on 11/11/2009, -1/+12That's a prolific screen name you decided on.
- JediPilot, on 11/12/2009, -0/+9WHAT THE *****?

- Zarokima, on 11/12/2009, -0/+8I predict you missed the joke.
It's okay, that may have already come true in the past, but I'm from there so it still counts. - ICDWILL117, on 11/12/2009, -0/+8............................................________

- R3publican, on 11/12/2009, -0/+7***** hell?
- mentallyinhell, on 11/12/2009, -1/+7When nothing happens on December 20, 2012, maybe, just maybe, we'll all realize these prophets are ***** and humanity will make real progress.
- theavenger3, on 11/12/2009, -11/+17Here's a FOOLPROOF way to survive any apocalypse scenario!
When I have REALLY BAD GAS, i get some GOOD bubble gum chewed up. Then, i take of my pants and aim my naked ass up in the air. I pancake my wad of bubble gum and adhere it to all the butt hairs around my anus. Then I have blastoff. I make a baloon. Now, most people only get to enjoy a fart with 2 senses, maybe even 3 if they are lucky. Not me. I get all 5.
I can see my fart, smell my fart, taste it when I rechew the gum, hear the fart rip real fierce like, and touch it via balloon. It was my sheer genius that discovered this. If you really dig on farts and have a flatuence fascination, I suggest using my fart balloon method. Just imagine, you can flavor the wet fart to match whatever you choose to chew. Its quite exciting. You havent lived till you stuck a fart in your mouth and popped it out your nostrils. Its the inverted, "inverted sniff" Enjoy!
Eating this bubble will protect you from ANYTHING!! - HunterKiller, on 11/12/2009, -2/+7It would be interesting if the apocalypse will indeed happen in Dec. 2012... That will really shut up all those naysayers and skeptics...Unfortunately it would shut everyone else up too, since it would be the apocalypse... *sigh*
- Eastlygod, on 11/12/2009, -8/+13Suckelback Nicks.
- macslut, on 11/12/2009, -0/+5You confused me at "BAD GAS".
- sychodan, on 11/12/2009, -0/+5i thought the movie 2012 sucked when i first saw it 5 years ago as "Day after tommorow"
- Dealjobber, on 11/12/2009, -0/+5Anyone else get a book in the mail called "The Great Controversy"?
*looking right behind the cover*
-----------------------------------------------------------
Can you look into the future and see what God is planning for you?
For this country?
For the whole human race?
This book provides a fascinating look at a longstanding war between God and Satan that will soon come to a dramatic climax. This is a very real battle that has spilled the blood of millions of men and women. In these pages you will see the historical events of the last 2,000 years in a new way. And you will glimpse the future as it is revealed in the biblical books of Daniel and Revelation.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Oh, I'll bet. Is this from the same guy passing out Origin of Species with the 50 page intro? - rushiku, on 11/12/2009, -0/+4"Mayan prophecy"?
Oh, you must be referring to the small print at the end of the Long Count Calendar.
They've just recently deciphered the text, it reads "goto line 1". - Blinker1315, on 11/11/2009, -3/+7Agree, of course. But who was afraid of the "Russian commies" in the 1980s? Maybe afraid that one more picture of Donald Trump would make us barf, but not the crumbling Soviet Union.
- GregLoire, on 11/12/2009, -0/+4Do we really need to be told how previous doomsday prophecies turned out?
- HolyMan28, on 11/12/2009, -1/+5Highly interesting read. I was never aware of these other predictions, of which have obviously gotten less hype. Let's see what happens.
- mdavidson98, on 11/12/2009, -0/+3All the prophets are bull *****. can you see the proof that they have failed many times. lets leave everything apart and live life a king size
- eh123, on 11/12/2009, -0/+3Amazing how many diggers seem to be pushing 2012. Are you on Emmerich's payroll, too?
- jayjayjoni, on 11/12/2009, -1/+4I always wanted to take advantage of the stupidity of the people who believe in the 2012 doomsday and make some money off them. Unfortunately, Roland Emmerich beat me.
- gfryesc, on 11/12/2009, -0/+3here's one to add to the list:
Global warming destroys Earth in 2015
by Al Gore and worshipers
Result:
Earth still here. - BESTenemy, on 11/12/2009, -0/+3 Every time some hyped up movie is about to come out, Digg gets flooded with directly related or seemingly unrelated articles dealing with the theme. All to get the buzz going, people talking, minds going in the general direction of the marketed product.
2012 is coming out soon and you'll be reminded of that every single day on Digg, so you better go see it, or yap about it all day long so that someone else not familiar with Digg goes to see it as well. If you fail to mention the year at least 5 times in your daily conversation, terrorists win. - duffmanhb, on 11/12/2009, -3/+6My prediction that came to me in a dream about Dec 21st 2012:
Santa and Jesus start an epic battle over who is going to host this Christmas. Jesus is clearly ticked at Santa for taking all the lime light. Meanwhile, The Google secretly releases the new "Google Skynet Beta" (google will keep it in beta for another ***** 10 years like everything else they develop) while the world watches the epic Santa vs Jesus battle on UFC.
Since Santa and Jesus are figments of our imagination, yet people still seem to be watching something that is impossible to watch, the Google Skynet realizes how dumb people are and starts employing monitoring services for all humans for our own good. It starts out great and we begin implementing the tech in all things digital.
And well, its all downhill from there. - rushiku, on 11/12/2009, -0/+3So...they're sending out books to advertise for Supernatural?
- cuervoman914, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2i just realized that it sounds like im banging everyone, what i meant to say was im already TRYING to do so. and failing pretty hard.
- Trollbane, on 11/12/2009, -1/+3blinker, go to former East Germany, Poland or any of the Baltic states and speak to some of the older generations there and tell them that Communism was never anything to be afraid of with regard to their freedoms or way of life. Just because the system was economically flawed and inevitably doomed to failure doesn't mean they were never a threat to people.
And brad, although they have been a lot of things which Governments have used stirred to stir up fear with over history, you can't seriously believe that it was wrong for people to be afraid of some of those things. Do you really think WW2, the holocaust and fascism was nothing to be afraid of in the 1940s? - daveruiz, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2Not like I believe anything is going to happen in 2012, but if even the slightest thing happens, you can be sure the blame will go something like this: http://www.comedycentral.com/videos/index.jhtml?vi ...
- Megadeth222, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2Ugh scrolling down to read the whole list was such a pain, i wish they would have had it in 5 easy pages. That way i wouldn't have to scroll.

- Harabeck, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2You are truly idiotic if you cannot see the difference between doomsday prophecies as discussed in this article and climate change claims.
- yacks, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2Sextus Julius Africanus was wrong...
- Enterres, on 11/12/2009, -0/+1How about "Children of Men"? That's the same thing - or was that too subtle for you?
- iVisionX01, on 11/15/2009, -0/+1I hate you.

- bigtex1, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1Dont do end of the world phrophecies but do Orwell view of future in 1984 as can see ithappenig all around me. You have been warned
