- Hermiod, on 12/28/2007, -0/+34Buried for the sheer amount of clicking I had to do to get to the actual article rather than a blog post about a blog post about the article.
- allaboutdatiki, on 12/28/2007, -0/+30the big list: http://crummy.com/writing/TheFuture/
- Flashman, on 12/28/2007, -0/+19Zaibatsu, you're a pretty knowledgeable submitter. Why didn't you link straight to the list, instead of the blog spam?
- cococooky, on 12/28/2007, -0/+14I always find it odd that web page designers link the title to the page you are already on, in case you feel like refreshing it or something...
- Frei, on 12/28/2007, -0/+13I just want a hoverboard.
- samzklub, on 12/28/2007, -1/+10***** blogs. why does everyone feel the need to have a blog? furthermore, why do people feel the need to submit a blog with a link to another blog with a link to the actual article? web 2.0? this is web stupid.0
- Hoov, on 12/28/2007, -1/+9Blogspam like woah.
- fusuke31, on 12/28/2007, -0/+7I am constantly amused at how little a grasp people have on economics, physics and engineering. Some of those inventions are likely to never appear (let alone in 10 years), unless there is a radical breakthrough in technology (think Star Trek).
- samzklub, on 12/28/2007, -0/+7lets get this trash off the front page already.
- Gradoner, on 12/28/2007, -1/+6good thing this links to a useless blog post and not the list itself, *****
- twitchr, on 12/28/2007, -1/+5blogspam overload!
- scabbers, on 12/28/2007, -0/+3Zaibatsu is a group of illegal immigrant workers in a room somewhere.
- skankyBacon, on 12/28/2007, -0/+3Agreed. You shouldn't have to hunt through the paragraph trying to find out which of the half-dozen links will actually take you to the story.
Better yet, let's stop blogspamming in our digg submissions! - brjndr, on 12/28/2007, -0/+3Digg should let users suggest alternate links for stories, and have people digg them up. That could end blogspam.
The problem is it could also cut submissions buy a lot. - screensnot, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2Well, you don't know how to use apostrophes, or spell 'sense' and 'their'.
You might want to cut them some slack. - CaviMike, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2Water battery? Whoever heard of such a thing?!
What's that you say? Every motor vehicle has one? They've had them for decades? Even before this article was made you say? Well blow me down. - animalmuther76, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2i constantly amused by people who think they can predict the future.....
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2What the *****, Digg...how on earth can you digg this BLATANT blog spam to the front page? IT is nothing more than one paragraph mentioning that there is a site that has the list!
Don't get me wrong. I know how it got to the front page. valleywag has enohg paid diggers with mutliple accounts to get it here. But it is still getting diggs now that it is on the front page for all to see, and if they are smart, bury.
And Kevin cries another tear. - freehunter, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2Not just the fact that it's a blog, but what really gets me is blogs like this that have fifty ***** links in the article (like engadget), but not a single one at the bottom going to what they are talking about in the article itself. I can't tell what link is the real link when they link every word.
- tidu, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2the american dream could never be more defined.
- Kronos6948, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2It's so that those people who don't have AdBlock or don't know how to see what the link is for will click and generate more ad revenue.
- widgetmaker, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2http://crummy.com/writing/TheFuture/
The actual page not just blog spam. - slayerab, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1Mr. Fusion, ftw!!
- Darkhacker, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1By any chance did you happen to see IBM's list of "five in five"? It's another one of those insane lists. My jaw dropped at how incredibly stupid the people at IBM must be to come up with this crap, and to think that it would happen in five years. http://www-03.ibm.com/press/us/en/pressrelease/226 ...
- TheFiestyFaun, on 12/28/2007, -1/+2dude the first comment already has this
- Jahweh, on 12/28/2007, -2/+3It's not thier fault Emo's lack common sence ^^
- Jahweh, on 12/28/2007, -1/+2Me and my skater friends have discussed this before, a hoverboard = *****, compared to one with wheels :D
- Kronos6948, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1Anyone have a link to the actual ARTICLE and not this blogspam?
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1This site was last updated THIS year and it only knows of that one robotic lawnmower? There are lots of differnt ones to choose from. And they have been around for longer than the Roomba. And Robomow is not the primitive thing he makes it out to be.
- blackjack75, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1You should blog about it and link to this comment.
- hybrid11, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1Ray Kurzwell has made more accurate future predictions, some of them which were dead on, his books are definately worth reading for anyone interested in future technolgy.
Some more info about him http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Kurzwell#Future_P - fusuke31, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1Haha. A wish list that must have been written by engineers. The technology certainly exists, but the authors are naive in thinking that industry/government will easily adopt new protocols and regulations on car-car communication, cell-phone banking, food safety etc.
This is sort of the flip side to my earlier comment. People with the technology know-how but lacking a social and political perspective. - NoQuarter, on 12/28/2007, -1/+1I counted about 300 predictions. Where are the other 1689?
Buried. - loganhid, on 12/28/2007, -1/+1where's my jetpack n flying car n my waffles
- Onimal, on 12/28/2007, -1/+1Kiss Moisturizer:
a microscopic, synthetic sphere that can be programmed to release cosmetic or pharmaceutical agents in response to pressure, time, or temperature."
Guess you could take that as a correct assumption that in the future, theres gonna be far more scientists with too much free time. - jubilee123, on 12/28/2007, -2/+1if you're going to link to a blog, at least link to something that isn't ***** ugly
- rainierbeer, on 12/28/2007, -1/+0God, people in 1989 were so stupid!
- evilgoatbob, on 12/28/2007, -1/+0Man, it's a good thing you and your skater friends figured this out for us. Sure helps me sleep easier.
- slipkn0tz23, on 12/28/2007, -2/+0"It gets a few things right, like Viagra and flat-screen TVs"
In the end, isn't that all that matters? - Norante, on 12/28/2007, -9/+2The actual list: http://crummy.com/writing/TheFuture/
