- Spetz, on 11/06/2007, -0/+6One thing that's helped me a lot is that I know I am more productive in the mornings in terms of quality of work. So I schedule the mornings to do all the important main tasks and tie up loose ends/refine stuff in the afternoon.

- jnosanov, on 11/06/2007, -1/+5Check email once per day? Its very easy to be efficient if you ignore customers, colleagues, friends, family, etc.
- zeromancer, on 11/07/2007, -4/+7"I'm sorry, but there's no such thing as multi-tasking."
My ass there's no such thing as multi-tasking. How about smoking a joint, answering a phone call, and driving a manual all at the same time.... WITHOUT DYING. That sounds like a lot of tasks to be done at the same time. - MattS, on 11/06/2007, -0/+3FWIW - Stop thinking about time in a work context and a personal context. Whether you are planning a personal event or a professional one - do it when you can. Don't be afraid to do personal during 8-5 and work 5-8. Its the result that is important - not the time of day. Once I stopped trying to artificially segment my time and focused on the result - the guilt about the time on the clock dissipated.

:) - tibbon, on 11/06/2007, -1/+3I disagree with #9 that he does admit is a person thing (He suggests to work alone so that you can concentrate).
I work by myself on occasion, but I normally work in a pretty large co-working loft in Cambridge, MA. The creativity flowing through there is amazing. Today I'm headed to co-work with someone else at a coffee shop, just because working even in pairs is really efficient. The more people the better imho, as long as everyone has the same goals and understanding. Luckily, all of the people at our loft fit into that well and everyone is turning out very productive work. - glucoseboy, on 11/06/2007, -1/+3Stay off digg
- GerryBot, on 11/06/2007, -0/+2Heh, I keep forgetting this kind of advice, that's why I keep digging articles like this...
- Bwackv, on 11/06/2007, -3/+5It's funny to me that so many obvious "self-help" pages get dugg to popularity...

- diggdowner, on 11/06/2007, -1/+1Buried as Lame...
MAN this is lame. Wow. - anonadmin, on 11/06/2007, -2/+2I have 2 simple ways to do it.
#1) Cut the time you sleep to 4 hours. Giving you an extra 4 hours a day, or 28 hours a week.
#2) Once you have adjusted to your new sleep cycle, learn to manipulate the space time continuum to slow the speed at which time moves. Allowing you to achieve a 7 to 1 compression ratio. This will let you get 7 days work done in 1 day and 1+ months work done every week.
Easy and simple.
P.S. If anyone can get #2 to work, please give me a call. I need more time to work on my project. - clockdist, on 11/07/2007, -0/+0You're not multitasking, you're just task-switching at a high frequency.
- Buddybot111, on 11/06/2007, -1/+1I have to disagree with settings tasks in "blocks of time". I've noticed that if I do this I end up waiting the extra 10 minutes untill, lets say 2pm instead of 1:50pm, to start work. Then if I'm watching TV and go a little over by habit it begins to feel funny to start at a time like 2:05pm so I end up not starting till 2:30pm. Eitherway, the simple advice is... JUST DO IT
- shucklak, on 11/06/2007, -1/+1nevermind - digg down
- GunsGermsSteel, on 11/07/2007, -1/+1I'm surprised they left off the tip: pee in the shower.

I would add the boss to the above list. This article is utter fluff. Just try to work this way in an environment with customers, external or internal, and see how far you get.
