- analog, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14For the most part, truth.
- GeniusCube, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I just love the picture of the "angry man". Looks a little like an agitated Fonz in a business suit.
- Dujoducom, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Yeah, it seriously seems like the digg algorithm is messed up. I think that the frequency of diggs is really being blown out of whack because of how many new diggers there are, and I know time plays a role in promotion. I've noticed a lot of really really stupid stories being dugg to the front page - this one included.
- jellygraph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7This article is certainly true of some women I know, but thank god I married someone beautiful, smart and doesn't conform to these negative stereotypes.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11Wait, digg me down for this. Sorry :(
- Carbito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It is probably because its in a category that does not get many diggs. There is probably an individual promotion algorithm for each category.
- Dujoducom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6You can, report it as lame.
- prophx, on 10/12/2007, -10/+16Just seems kind of nasty and stereotypical...
- spydrlink, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Only 10?
- 81v3d07g0d, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10Sounds like the voice of inexperience. My ex and I had a conversation day before yesterday about this very thing. She hates women, cant stand all the ***** that it means to be one of them. She says at least when its comes to a guy at least she know he wants one thing from her and it doesn't go far beyond that. With women its head game over head games, layered so deep that its disturbing. Most people might think I am kind of sexist but far from it, I just know the truth.
This list is even full of generalizations, which don't address underlying gender issues. So unfortunately though it makes some of the points for what is wrong it doesn't address why the problem is there in the first place, which often time seems to be completely unrelated. Also though I can agree and be happy that the issue is out there, this kind of list just make the problem worse, because it is just so short sighted, with its assumptions.
Most women think guys don't understand them, its not true we just really don't like what we do know. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Now Pravda is making it to the front page of digg?
- Experiment626, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Considering that this is from Pravda, I wonder if the article is reflective of Russian stereotypes of what men hate about women. However, what I find most suspect about the article as a whole is the author: I'm pretty sure that the writer - "Oksana Anikia" - is a woman. (Remember skater Oksana Baiul?). A woman writing about what men hate about women seems a bit disingenuous.
- draxenato, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Was this written by a teen who'd just been dumped by his first serious g/f ? Either that or an emotionally insecure individual.
Take your time folks, don't pledge undying love to the first girl who puts out. The sexiest girl ain't necessarily the best one. We all get burned in relationships, it's part of growing up and how you deal with it plays a big part in becoming a man. All good relationships need both parties to work at it, and more importantly to *want* to work at it. It takes two to make a relationship work but only one to break it. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7A fine example of why I need to be able to negative digg a story.
- TheCatsPants, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The article seems to describe teenage girls of a sub-average intelligence. Also, some of the behaviour could equally describe some males I've met. Was it written by a man or a woman?
- x713, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3true for me... and many other gf's i've encountered. If you have not experienced at least most of these... than well you haven't experienced a relationship.
- superbird, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Lol, you need to meet better women
- shadowsurfr1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I look at just about every else in a relationship and laugh when they're not happy. My girlfriend never does this and we're each happy.
Go ahead, mod me down. Don't be jealous ;) - FishPoisonCon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1for the most part this article *is* right... but, switch out a few words and it could be 10 things women hate about men, or men hate about other men, or people hate about other people... if you find yourself unexpectedly dealing with any of the issues mentioned in the article, it probably means youre with the wrong person.
- erll, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd read most of this article when I realized that this is the first article I've read in Pravda, the classic Soviet newpaper (the name apparently meaning "the Truth"). Things change. Cool.
- sixlocal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1THEY'RE not THEIR.
- domusvita, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ugh ugh...me man....me agree.
- yahoofrom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If it was about 10 Things Women Hate About Men, it wouldn't be front-paged on digg.com.
No it woudn't. - richpav, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1When a women asks you, "What are you thinking about?" the correct answer is, "If I wanted you to know what I was thinking, I'd be talking."
- Klinky, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This man speaks truth, don't digg him down...
- awalles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0And i thought this was gonna be a funny story. Just wasted 10 seconds of my life.
NO DIGG - whackaxe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2NEWSFLASH: Men and women are different, and not just because of vague stereotypes
- Scopitone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I love how the only comment in here by an actual woman was dugg to the bottom. Well done, guys.
- spott, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll agree with you, relationships do take time. But unfortunately, I also have to agree with the article. There are a number of women who exhibit a number of these traits, and a lot of men don't like these specific things. But there are also a lot of women who DON'T exhibit these particular traits, and if they get on your nerves, DON'T DATE THOSE WOMEN.
But that's life, for every idiot man, there is a bitchy women, for every idiot women there is jerk guy. - supanaturalhigh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My girlfriend is the opposite of all of those... she especially could not care less about hugs.
- elizoid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Give me a break. This is a fluff piece in a Russian tabloid, and clumsily translated, at that. Lame.
- sakuraz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Erm...what about Rules like 1."whores/unlucky women only meet jerks"
Coupled with 2."99.99999% of men are jerks"
I'm one of the non-jerks
call me :D - ladymix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Somebody is obviously fond of boys.
"Men do not like diffident women; they say it is even worse than self-confident and independent women."
But oh writer please tell us how we should bee! - poshsuicide, on 10/12/2007, -9/+8Wow, that isn't obnoxious at all. Bitter much?
- schleufer, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2The great thing about stereotypes, is the fact that they carry a certain amount of truth. Nobody pulls stereotypes out of their ass, and there isn't a committee designated to creating new stereotypes out of thin air.
I actually like stereotypes, both positive and negative. They are absurd little things that sometimes shock us when they aren't true. Imagine if stereotypes were never true- the world would be one big homogenous society, and truly boring.
In fact, if a woman doesn't meet these stereotypes, I'd probably think there was something wrong with her. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+5I'm just saying... 13 diggs and frontpage? Anyway, don't digg me down for that; I thought the article was wondeful :D
