- Khast, on 12/01/2008, -0/+7Diamonds are overrated. Personally I don't see what makes them worth anything, other than the craftsmanship which goes into the finished stone, and for industrial uses.
- clintmaher, on 04/21/2009, -0/+4No more diamonds for this little Digger. My girl is going to hate my Digging that little bit more now :-)
- godspeed843, on 12/01/2008, -0/+4I'm glad i didn't spend more than a $1,000 on an engagement ring....
- Trekhawk, on 12/01/2008, -0/+3Diamonds: Nothing says I love you like an over-valued rock clawed from the guts of the Earth by African slave workers.
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Indeed, your Mother and I were just discussing that.
- Aeaus, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Real vs Inflated Values. People will buy and sell gold within a few % of the spot price, people will not buy and sell diamonds for the same price.
- glinsvad, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1Good luck with that
- cobophers, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Buy organic diamonds: you can find them next to the stinking hipster on aisle 4 at your local co-op. JK.
But seriously, I'd rather give my wife an apron. - TeachX3, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1
I love my diamonds, I just find the glitz of the stone so gorgeous. But my husband and I do not spend outlandish amounts of money on them... we search the PAWN SHOPS! :D - fasda, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Bugs me too but I know a few people who will rant about something similar. That being said is there a Ron Paul supporter who can explain why gold is valuable?
- inactive, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1Cubic Zirconia a rational symbol of romance and love.
- DonJuanAussi, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1I used to have friends that were manufacturing jewelers... they rarely paid over $5 for a diamond, and never paid more than $50 for their biggest and best diamonds.
If you want a cheaper ruby, demand to buy a red sapphire. Rubies are red sapphires, but jemstone wholesalers have lower prices for red sapphires than they do for rubies, because the experienced jeweler knows how common they are. Emeralds are the one rare stone, but even then, they are a lot cheaper than you ever believed at wholesale prices. - inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+0FTA:
De Beers was founded by Cecil Rhodes, who also founded the state of Rhodesia which later became Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Rhodes Scholarship is also named after him, and funded by his estate.
Cecil Rhodes is one of the founders of the New World Order ideology.
"The modern use of the phrase New World Order originated in the early 20th century with Cecil Rhodes, who advocated that the British Empire and the United States of America should jointly impose a Federal World Government (with English as the official language) to bring about lasting world "peace"
