  • skywake, on 10/16/2007, -1/+8Some of the stuff shown in the video at the bottom looks promising. The 2D-ish Bowser Castle style scenes... actually, the whole thing in general looks beautiful with a hint of nostalgia. Having said that, plastic acting is instant fail.

    mario 64 was SOOOO much fun.
    i hope nintendo can bring back that same magic.
    sunshine was pretty lame.
    watching the video shows how ambitious and polished this game looks.
    i'm excited for a great gamer holiday season!

    now if only i could FIND a freaking wii

The system came out nearly a year ago, and we're still talking in terms of "I heard a store had them in stock a month ago". It's unbelievable. I rarely (if ever) see a Wii in the store, even now.
    • zwilliams, on 10/17/2007, -3/+20Why does everyone hate Sunshine so much? I quite enjoyed it; sure it wasn't the best Mario game, but it kept me entertained. Everyone seems to act as if it was some sort of pure abomination just because it didn't fit their unrealistic expectations.
      • imikedaman, on 10/16/2007, -2/+5The game was uninspired and surprisingly unpolished, plus the way they implemented the blue coins in the game made it nearly impossible to get 120 shines without a guide and a lot of tedious scavenger hunts.

It wasn't this gigantic evolution of the Mario series, but it was a really good, polished game that had some small flaws. The environments felt really alive and really cool (like that water/island world with the shell houses, totally awesome). I guess the critique comes from that it is a Mario game, and perhaps people where expecting the same big step as from Super Mario World to Super Mario 64 and well, yeah, you didn't get that.

        Oh, and Galaxy looks completely amazing. I need it!!!

Remember that manta ray level, where every time you attacked their shadow forms they split in two, until the whole upper level was just *covered* with hundreds and hundreds of tiny manta rays? That was some cool stuff.

      As far as finding a wii, I saw my FIRST WII on a shelf last night. There was only 1 in walmart and it was in a beat up box. Can't believe the first time I see it on a shelf is 11 months after release. Amazing

    Something else just increased my excitement besides the game itself, was seeing that beautiful girl at 00:21.
    I want her sitting next to me while I play the game...although if that were the case, it would take me two years to beat the game.
