infendo.com — Remember Nintendo's E3 2006 presentation for the Wii title Project H.A.M.M.E.R? Well, after many rumours, a Nintendo exec has confired that it is D.E.A.D., she refuses to discuss the reasons. Details from the interview within.

- opnickc, on 10/11/2007, -12/+10Why? The entire game was based around hitting things with a big hammer. Am I the only one who thought this was a stupid title to begin with?
- JaybeasCorpus, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18Funny, based on just your description, my opinion would be just the opposite.
- Klowner, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9And asteroids is just flying a triangle around shooting at flying rocks, don't judge a game by its lame concept
- grumbel, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I wouldn't call it stupid, it might have made a nice hack&slay title (X-Men Legends like), but on the other side it surely never looked like a Halo/HeavenlySword/ killer.
- Weebs43, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Was H.A.M.M.E.R. even an acronym, or were they just giving a half-assed job at an interesting title?

- Easty, on 10/11/2007, -0/+21The bastards had better not do this to Disaster: Day of Criss too.
- xerus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14Well I dont know about this Criss fellow, but the Day of Crisis game is still under development.
- Easty, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Bah, damn my spazzy fingers.
- blackgt93, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2A whole Day of Peter Criss would definitely be a disaster.
- xerus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14Well I dont know about this Criss fellow, but the Day of Crisis game is still under development.
- Sirocco, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1Monolith Soft has been acquired by Nintendo, so the project won't go under. Don't worry.
- soot, on 10/11/2007, -17/+3This game looked retarded anyway, I'm glad its dead. LOL

- bittertea, on 10/11/2007, -7/+2maybe the graphic was just too good but the gameplay was lacking....
- Carsonauto, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.
- Zarxrax, on 10/11/2007, -3/+22I'm guessing it was killed because it sucked. I mean who actually watched the gameplay videos and still thought it looked like a good game? I mean all you did was wave the cursor around the screen, and then it translated into attack movements. There didn't really look like it had much depth to it.
- mattguy, on 10/11/2007, -14/+1I'm thinking it was axed because the wii couldn't handle the general processing or the graphics processing necessary for the game.
- rainergamer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8yeah I'm sure they made it with the Wii kit and the system couldn't handle it.
speculate2win - grumbel, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4The game already was up and running in a demo at last years E3. Wii could certainly handle it, it however never looked very good.

- travisvw, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Damn. Thats disappointing, it was one of the games I was looking forward to. Cant go wrong smashing the crap out of things with a giant hammer. Disaster better not suffer the same fate.
- djSyndrome, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2U can't play this.
- flclfan22, on 10/11/2007, -6/+0Ugh, both this and Disaster:day of crisis looked TERRIBLE from the start. Thank god it got canned.
- Shippwreck87, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Why is it that the first game I see when the main weapon isn't a gun, a sword, or a combination of the two, they cancel the game... when will my dreams of blunt weapon carnage come true?!
- E7ernal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Uh, buy a hammer?
or a H.A.M.M.E.R. for that matter
- E7ernal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Uh, buy a hammer?
- valis2374, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Gone the way of Xbox's Malice, eh? Seems like the world simply is not ready for a hammer-wielding protagonist.
- Hobofuzz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4But Malice was eventually released, and sucked some serious ass.
- mr_bako2, on 10/11/2007, -9/+3god damnit i wish nintendo would start taking gaming seriously again, enough of this "family friendly" *****, start trying to compete with microsoft and sony and put out a *real* console next time. One that's just as powerful as the other current jen consoles, they'd do spectacularly... the N64 was a true competitor in it's time, and it sold like hotcakes and people LOVED it, the wii isn't doing so hot on the game front, although wii sports does kick ass.
- b3mus3d, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Umm, the n64 is the reason that Sony is the dominant game console company today?
There is so much in your comment that is just plain stupid. Prat.

- Markpdotcom, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15Stop. Hammer time! :D
- KyleMistry, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Sorry, but as far as Nintendo's concerned, can't touch this.
- agentflit, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1Honestly at first glance I thought MC Hammer was dead
- locodude, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Doggammit!!! This is some ***** up news. I've been waiting for this game since it was first announced. First "Manhunt 2" gets shot to hell and now this. Geez, my Wii just can't seem to catch a break.

- Jukey, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1This was one of 3 reasons i got the wii.
This really sucks. - Denzal, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Project HAMMER hasn't been canceled, it's been put on indefinite hold. Which pretty much means "We will probably get around to doing it at some point, but at the moment it's not a priority"
- Jukey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2just like starcraft: Ghost?
- jasg, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5OMG NOOOOOOOOOOOOO !! : (

- CurlyHayami, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Damn. Looked like a fun game.
Oh well-waiting on Brawl. - HitmanJustin, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1Its because Nintendo decided they didnt want any good games on their system anymore
- B52doc, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Doesn't matter for me. The novelty of the Wii wore off a couple weeks ago and it's now a $200 bookshelf ornament keeping my books from falling over. Now I feel bad for punching that little kid in the face so I could get the last one.
- McTendo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Why do you feel sorry? It's not like he was any younger then you.
I never understood why eleven year olds feel like they need to act tuff on the internet.- E7ernal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Too much pwnage and not enough ball drppage

- mattfugitive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2That's worse news then my car windows getting smashed.
- Shaflugi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Project Hammer looked stupid, anyways. Seriously, flailing your arm around just to smash stuff with a hammer can only be fun for so long. They probably realized the game was gimmicky and had no depth.
- Sirhctopher, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1No S.H.I.T. Read this like last ***** W.E.E.K.
- smd31, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0This stinks...this game seemed interesting when they previewed it at/in E3 before the Wii was released....*sighs*
- trogdor57, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Too Bad, It looked like a decent game. There is something oddly satisfying about hitting things with a sledge hammer
- E7ernal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1F.U.L.L. S.T.O.P.
