- theMADone, on 04/09/2008, -6/+48well give yourself a slow clap, cause i cant be assed to do it for u.
- newsboys, on 04/09/2008, -54/+21Hurray Yahtzee Day! Seems like this week he reviewed a game he actually liked. Score another point for the Wii.
- woodychris, on 04/09/2008, -48/+8Yeah, but alas, the Wii is just a secondary system to the 360 and the PS3.
- sugarazor, on 04/09/2008, -6/+44Yeah, but alas, it outsells them both.
- Anonemousk, on 04/09/2008, -13/+15Then I guess the PS2 is clearly superior to all three, combined, times 2.
- sugarazor, on 04/09/2008, -8/+18Would be a decent argument if the PS2 hadn't been out for eight years already.
The Wii's been out for as long as the PS3 and it outsells them both, it's a simple fact. I'm not saying it's the superior system, I just find it amusing someone calls it "secondary" when it outsells both of the consoles it's supposedly secondary to.
- sugarazor, on 04/09/2008, -8/+18Would be a decent argument if the PS2 hadn't been out for eight years already.
- U186, on 04/09/2008, -1/+14The PS2 is soooo 1990s
- woodychris, on 04/09/2008, -10/+3It outsells them both because it appeals to all ages, and there are so many damn nursing homes in the world. The Baby Boomers practically make up 2/3 of the Wii sales as it is. Talk to any real gamer out there and they will own either the 360 or the PS3 along with their Wii. Then ask them which they play more, on a regular basis, and I'm sure the answer won't be the Wii. That's not saying that the Wii is crap. I own one and enjoy playing it from time to time, but I, like other gamers also own a 360/PS3 which gets played a helluva lot more.
- Netrilix, on 04/09/2008, -1/+5Personally, I love the Wii. I used to game a lot, starting back when NES Zelda was released, up until about the time Halo 2 came out. Now I can't be bothered to pick up a traditional controller and play a game anymore. But the Wii caught my attention, and it's brought me back into gaming at least a little bit.
- azimuthal, on 04/09/2008, -5/+3Real gamers have realized that xbox2 and ps3 offer nothing over their -1 predecessors. Real gamers play wii or pc.
- brstilson, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2 Maybe some people are more concerned about having fun than being accepted into the "real gamers" club so their balls can feel big.
- bagboyrebel, on 04/09/2008, -8/+3as someone who waited in line at launch for the wii, sales != quality.
- thecrazyd, on 04/09/2008, -0/+5woodychris - Citation needed.
- woodychris, on 04/09/2008, -4/+2The comment about 2/3 of sales going to nursing homes was just a little humor, it wasn't really fact.
- thecrazyd, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2Your point is still *****. I am, by any definition of the term, a Real Gamer, and my Wii gets far more usage then my 360. The only systems that beat it out in play time are the PC and the DS. I would be willing to bet that the majority of Wii owners are traditional gamers.
- BabyWookie, on 04/09/2008, -3/+3Brittney Spears and the Backdoor Boys, used to outsell a lot of better artists, by a wide margin. They and the Wii are still epic fails though.
- jgtg32a, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3U186 dude the ps2 was released in 2000
- Anonemousk, on 04/09/2008, -13/+15Then I guess the PS2 is clearly superior to all three, combined, times 2.
- krd1979, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3I only have the Wii and my secondary game system is a PC. When I eventually get a 360 (as soon as they eventually truly fix the red ring issue) then the Xbox 360 will be my secondary system. Now if I were a lonely gamer and had a really fast Internet connection then maybe things would be different, but having slow ass DSL and plenty of people to play with on Wii it'll be a primary console for quite awhile.
- sugarazor, on 04/09/2008, -6/+44Yeah, but alas, it outsells them both.
- D14BL0, on 04/09/2008, -3/+10He also liked Portal, too.
He also said something along the lines that if he ever gives a good review again that he will stab himself in the eyes with forks. Who wants to keep him to his promise?- mesasone, on 04/09/2008, -0/+5He's reviewed several games that he's liked recently, and what he said in the portal review is that if he ever used "those words"(forget what they were exactly) about a game, he'd stick forks in his eyes.
- manitoba98xp, on 04/09/2008, -0/+5I believe it was "absolutely sublime from start to finish".
- piwy, on 04/09/2008, -1/+7This isn't exactly a good review. It's more in the lines of "it's kind of bad but get it anyways".
- Cerebral, on 04/09/2008, -2/+5I don't think that was a good review by any means. He ripped the hell out of this game until about 3:20 when he did a reversal and said that he loved it.
- mesasone, on 04/09/2008, -0/+5He's reviewed several games that he's liked recently, and what he said in the portal review is that if he ever used "those words"(forget what they were exactly) about a game, he'd stick forks in his eyes.
- woodychris, on 04/09/2008, -48/+8Yeah, but alas, the Wii is just a secondary system to the 360 and the PS3.
- Trozz, on 04/09/2008, -13/+125Dugg for the Earthbound love.
- theragu40, on 04/09/2008, -1/+18I want a new Earthbound made for the Wii so badly I can taste it. Actually, I'd settle for the first one being remade. Hell, I'll take it being released on the VC. DO YOU HEAR ME NINTENDO?! GIVE US EARTHBOUND!
- KirbyMeister, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1Not happening. They even REMOVED the demo from Brawl.
If you want a new Earthbound, wait for http://mother3.fobby.net
- KirbyMeister, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1Not happening. They even REMOVED the demo from Brawl.
- gplpark92, on 04/09/2008, -4/+15Dugg for Muse
- superal1394, on 04/09/2008, -1/+7He's English, being a Muse fan is obligitory.
On the other hand, I did appreciate it. It was fitting.
/uber Muse fandom- daRoach, on 04/09/2008, -1/+2Oh that was Muse? I thought it was some Radiohead I hadn't heard yet. Sounds suspiciously similar.
- gplpark92, on 04/09/2008, -1/+3Well if u studied closer into Radiohead's music and Muse's music you'd notice a lot of differences. Radiohead's a band which is extremely hard to recreate. Sure, their more generic stuff can be imitated by Keane and Muse, (both of which put their own style into it), but true Radiohead is impossible to copy.
- WorldLeader, on 04/10/2008, -1/+1Sounded like Working for a Nuclear Free City.
/ultra pretentious indie name dropping - superal1394, on 04/25/2008, -0/+1Or you could stop comparing Muse and Radiohead because they both have high voices and play rock music...
- daRoach, on 04/09/2008, -1/+2Oh that was Muse? I thought it was some Radiohead I hadn't heard yet. Sounds suspiciously similar.
- superal1394, on 04/09/2008, -1/+7He's English, being a Muse fan is obligitory.
- hankydysplasia, on 04/09/2008, -1/+12Dugg for the guy running around "with glowing Dragonball Z hair seriously menacing the walls."
- Poochyfud, on 04/09/2008, -2/+10After listening to most of his review, I decided I might get the game. And then he mentioned EarthBound. I am now going to get No More Heros right now.
- theragu40, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2I purchased the game Contact for DS based solely on the fact that some review I read compared it to Earthbound.
- NaziHatinChimp, on 04/09/2008, -0/+10Earthbound isn't flawed.
- christoast, on 09/04/2008, -0/+5Dugg for the Earthbound
- theragu40, on 04/09/2008, -1/+18I want a new Earthbound made for the Wii so badly I can taste it. Actually, I'd settle for the first one being remade. Hell, I'll take it being released on the VC. DO YOU HEAR ME NINTENDO?! GIVE US EARTHBOUND!
- BlueSkyfish, on 04/09/2008, -16/+7You don't know how frustrating it is slashing through 30 enemies on hard mode and the LAST ***** ONE you kill is the one that gives you the darkside power.
- lansuggs, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4Cranberry chocolate sundae!

- adventchild08, on 04/09/2008, -16/+9I usually like his reviews passively, but this was dead on.
- dronkmunk, on 04/09/2008, -30/+1His reviews are pointless. Reviews should come out in a timely fashion with the game, not 3 months later.
- adventchild08, on 04/09/2008, -2/+9They are far from pointless. They may not help a buyer decide whether or not to buy a game, but his criticisms hold the art form to a higher standard. Maybe game designers will listen.
- BlueSkyfish, on 04/09/2008, -0/+19http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/wii/data/933024.ht ...
Look at the release dates and guess where Yahtzee lives.
(Hint: Australia)- Shawn4168, on 04/09/2008, -1/+7Is it Australia?
- DarkSamus, on 04/09/2008, -2/+11go back to gamespot
noob- dronkmunk, on 04/09/2008, -2/+3wow...sensitive bunch
- KirbyMeister, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4Yahtzee is an Aussie and therefore gets games months after they come out.
- dronkmunk, on 04/09/2008, -30/+1His reviews are pointless. Reviews should come out in a timely fashion with the game, not 3 months later.

- Exbzurq, on 04/09/2008, -11/+122Dugg, honestly just for the "***** baby seals" at the end of the credits.

- camintmier, on 04/09/2008, -0/+23Warranty void if seal broken.
- thejamabides, on 04/09/2008, -8/+61God I love Wednesday.
- riskybeats, on 04/09/2008, -1/+36I always forget about this. Then it sneaks up on me like a ... a... hooker with.. umm.. cake.. and it's delicious.
- kutateli, on 04/09/2008, -1/+21and moist.
- geoff1210, on 04/09/2008, -0/+11The hooker?
- MacEnvy, on 04/09/2008, -1/+5That sounds like a lie. Well, maybe not the hooker part.
- carrognia, on 04/09/2008, -1/+6look at us still talking when there's science to do...
- thejamabides, on 04/09/2008, -2/+1You know, last wednesday it really snuck up on me, and then I saw the Zero Punctuation logo on Digg right when I really needed it. So last night I was pissed because I had to do some after hours work and I knew I still had to come in today, and I just remembered that today would be Zero Punctuation day. it made me feel better.
- kutateli, on 04/09/2008, -1/+21and moist.
- xtremesisu13, on 04/09/2008, -11/+0the cake is a lie
- prophetpimp, on 04/09/2008, -3/+2But the Hooker isnt. Yhea baby yhea.
- Crosshare, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2Easy thejamabides, lets not take things too far, it is the middle of the week we're talking about.
- trogdorBURN, on 04/09/2008, -2/+3ugh i'm drunnk...what teh hell did that guy just say?
- Rikka, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1Let's just call it yahtzeeday from now on and leave it at that.
- riskybeats, on 04/09/2008, -1/+36I always forget about this. Then it sneaks up on me like a ... a... hooker with.. umm.. cake.. and it's delicious.
- woodychris, on 04/09/2008, -6/+85I wonder how many people catch the statement at the end of the credits. Like the one this week:
"You can make your own liquid pretentiousness at home by burning Limp Bizkit merchandise until Limp Bizkit starts crying, then mixing their tears with the ashes."
I think I like that part of all of his reviews the best. Either way, Happy Yahtzeeday to all, and here's hoping your week isn't too mundane until next wednesday.- jjremy, on 04/09/2008, -0/+20credits, credits credits, PAUSE!
- Intenseboredom, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4damn you man, i never noticed these lines at the end before.
now i have to go back and rewatch all of the yahtzee videos to catch up on what i've missed out on.
though not a necessarily a bad thing by itself, but i need to get a tire changed on my car and i'm not sure it'll fit into my schedule today anymore...- woodychris, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2I was the same way. I only caught it at the end of the Bioshock review and had to rewatch the ones before that.
- ChromaVita, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4This is like the time that i found the hilarious comedy hidden in XKCD's image titles...
- Philosomatika, on 04/09/2008, -7/+2I caught that yeah. Now im going to say something which im sure people will really rip ***** out of me for but.. whats with the limp bizkit hating (the fact they arnt around anymore)? OK hate Fred Durst he is a prick but the other guys Wes etc are cool and are good aritsts.
- woodychris, on 04/09/2008, -0/+7The hating is really geared towards Fred Durst, because he's such a douche.
- ahoyhoy, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4The one that mentioned Audiosurf is the one that introduced and subsequently got me hooked on the game.
- blademanx, on 04/09/2008, -2/+29Were those puppies coming out of the dead seal at the end?
- BlueSkyfish, on 04/09/2008, -1/+56Now why would there be puppies coming out of a dead seal? Those were obviously kittens.
- id000001, on 04/09/2008, -1/+1Yeah. I mean, puppies?! The hell where you thinking?
Puppies. Gosh. - jpop, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1Indeed, they were kittens. http://www.sluggy.com/daily.php?date=000629
- id000001, on 04/09/2008, -1/+1Yeah. I mean, puppies?! The hell where you thinking?
- Halokhan, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1Its like when animals come out for Dr. Egghead's machines.
- BlueSkyfish, on 04/09/2008, -1/+56Now why would there be puppies coming out of a dead seal? Those were obviously kittens.

- destro713, on 04/09/2008, -14/+5Wow, this many posts and no straight-up direct quote of one of his lines yet. I'm impressed.
- KevinRWright, on 04/09/2008, -13/+1There can be only one.
- EwMo, on 04/09/2008, -2/+3Highlander.

- agsinger, on 04/09/2008, -20/+4insert obligatory Wednesday Yahtzee comment here
- Trozz, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3It's not obligatory.
You're just a conformist.
- Trozz, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3It's not obligatory.

- Sirocco, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2If you haven't bought the game by now you're a ***** tool.
- Enfecktion, on 04/09/2008, -12/+159does anyone else hold off laughter just so they can catch everything he says?
- Akaji, on 04/09/2008, -0/+15Pretty much. But on the other hand, the thing that helps make it so funny is how fast he talks, so the laughter just keeps building and building until it explodes all my monitor.
- Tripper44, on 04/09/2008, -5/+1ok now that sounded sick lol u might want to think about how u word things in future haha
- Sparkster185, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1All your monitor are belong to us?
- AgentMull, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1Thats what she said?
- TekTrixter, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1I've had a similar problem, but it wasn't laughter I was holding back. It was also harder to clean off the monitor.
- rezonq3, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1No, I just watch it over and over until my sides hurt from all of the laughing.
Trying to quell the laughter is an exercise in futility, for me. - dudefather, on 04/09/2008, -8/+45people actually burst into actual audible laughter while watching this alone? I find the videos funny but I don't start guffawing all over the shop.
maybe the funny is amplified by a wacky British accent (which I'm used to) or I can't laugh because I'm dead inside- Verytastycheese, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4I do, laughing is awesome. You're missing out.
- magicaltrevor, on 04/09/2008, -3/+7Bleh, digg me down.
- EwMo, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3I normally get one good, audible chuckle out of his videos. But I think the accent does help.
- Twoje, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1I chuckled at "guffawing".
- DrWho520, on 04/09/2008, -0/+7I am going with dead inside.
- MooNinja, on 04/09/2008, -5/+2I was thinking the same thing, I don't LoL any longer while watching these, while humorous, they aren't side splitting laugh a minutes. The originals were pretty funny, the swap to the escapist has diminished that somewhat though.
- MechBear, on 04/09/2008, -0/+0I dont actually laugh out loud (hrmm, i could actually type lol, but i doubt it'd carry my message across that clearly).
Just the occasional chuckle or "hrmm hrmm" if you all know what i mean. - RandaII, on 04/10/2008, -6/+1he is not funny. he steals all his lines he a ***** retard
- Spr0k3t, on 04/26/2008, -0/+1Intelligence spews from this guy like a fountain.
- Akaji, on 04/09/2008, -0/+15Pretty much. But on the other hand, the thing that helps make it so funny is how fast he talks, so the laughter just keeps building and building until it explodes all my monitor.
- myansaphone, on 04/09/2008, -10/+3I would bear his children if he just kept telling me what to think.
- petebot, on 04/09/2008, -0/+5Ironically, your comment would hav been dugg up if you were a dude.
- magoblygoo, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1you can bear my children...SOOOO HOTT
- PawFox, on 04/09/2008, -16/+9Site Down? It's failing to load for me.
- UnWeave, on 04/09/2008, -0/+6Yeah me too. Site is still up, but it is slooooow. Seems to be similar to The Digg Effect. Or it just is the digg effect. Never noticed it before on Wednesdays, I'd have thought their servers would be able to cope with it. Apparently not.

- YellowSnowDemon, on 04/09/2008, -27/+2This review is a lie! Everybody knows the Wii is utter crap! How dare he say it has a good mature 3rd party game! BALDERDASH...

- TheRealDj, on 04/09/2008, -17/+4He hates Drake's Fortune, but loves No More Heroes?
- mlvassallo, on 04/09/2008, -1/+13I am no Yatzee fan, but that might be because Drake's Fortune is a Tomb Raider clone at heart and No More Heroes tries to be original? At least a little? I've played them both and that is what I think at least.
- BlueSkyfish, on 04/09/2008, -1/+13Maybe because No More Heroes is good.
- TheRealDj, on 04/09/2008, -9/+1Game Rankings:
No More Heroes: 83 percent
Drake's Fortune: 90 percent
which one is better again? - JudgeMonkey, on 04/09/2008, -2/+3I haven't picked up No More Heroes yet, but I have played Drake's fortune. it's an OK exclusive if you decided to go for the ps3 as your only game system for some reason.

- calvmari, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4What does he look like?
- frogman54, on 04/09/2008, -5/+13Does anybody know what those black creatures he uses are supposed to be? Are they some video game reference I'm not getting or just random fat black things with pointy limbs and no mouth?
- pradaaddict, on 04/09/2008, -2/+13supposed to be bad guys in the aforementioned game
- jpjandrade, on 04/09/2008, -0/+12Not necessarily, they are just creatures, or things, or something. I think it all started in his "The Darkness" review (not in the escapist, but on youtube), when he drew the minions you summon. Now he just uses it for pretty much anything. But for actual humans, bad guys or not, he draws them as humans for most part I think.
- TVarmy, on 04/09/2008, -0/+12They're generic enemies. I think he only draws humans when it's to make a point.
- MechBear, on 04/09/2008, -1/+1and those black thingies can even be girls- identified by the bow on the heads....
took me a while to realise those things were girls though... - EklektikMC, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1If you watch the Super Mario Galaxy review, he mentions at the end of it that it's an "imp", if that helps.
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/edit ... - Cowwan, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1I have always thought they looked quite alot like hobbes from fable. http://wiki.fable-2.com/Hobbes
- cuco, on 04/09/2008, -7/+2well, i just ordered this online... hopefully its good as entertaining as he says
- spyrochaete, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2I can't believe nobody else has said anything about the game up to this point. I bought it 2 weeks ago and I really love it. The game is so-so but the style, characters, storytelling, and boss fights are absolutely amazing. The dialogue is really excellent. This is one of those games I just have to finish just to see what happens. No More Heroes is definitely the best third-party game I've seen on the Wii.
- Takfam, on 04/09/2008, -3/+91Could any Brit Diggers help us Yanks out? WTF is branston pickle?

- Balath, on 04/09/2008, -11/+1When are you dolts going to learn that posting ZP to digg only makes it impossible for some of the truest fans to view the video?
- BN2L, on 04/09/2008, -0/+5If you were a true fan you would have some patience and appreciate the fact that people are promoting ZP.

- SSUK, on 04/09/2008, -0/+8No real spoilers unless you count the fact the game apparently has 'colourful bosses'.

- Shadic, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4I just realized today was Wednesday, and immediately went to Digg.
I wasn't disappointed. - Philosomatika, on 04/09/2008, -2/+3Whats with Yahtzee's hating of Limp Bizkit? Isnt he 5 years too late as they are not around anymore? Anyways another brilliant review.
- IndigoMoss, on 04/09/2008, -0/+27Dude, he lives in Australia, so they're just now getting Limp Bizkit.
- RussellDovey, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1Crikey, me ears!
Or it could be that although we've had those bastards on the radio since time began, the hate for Limp Bizkit rings like the flame of a well that never runs dry.

I mean guys he's hilarious and all but hauglalghual. It's not like fans are going to forget about it or something. And even if they do, they'll come back eventually to a bunch of new, stored up hilarity. It's like Christmas, but it rewards absentmindedness.- sobe86, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2I found out about zero punctuation through it being dugg to the front page one time a few months ago, and chances are a few people have discovered it today the same way. For that reason alone, its worth this being on the front page. Not to mention this one was pretty damn good...
- okcomputer1982, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2I second that.
