- torrzilla, on 12/07/2007, -2/+85Duracell approves this message.
- Klarth, on 12/07/2007, -1/+48I'm kind of torn. If it works well, I might buy it, but the anal retentive in me wants to cry because it's third-party. :(
- Fatcheeseguy, on 12/07/2007, -0/+39I approve of rechargeable batteries.
- SublimeRuin, on 12/07/2007, -0/+35And the search to find a Nyko product you'd ACTUALLY buy continues.
- Schmapdi, on 12/07/2007, -1/+31I don't see the point - the wire from the nunchuk to the wiimote is rarely an issue, and it's not worth the extra power consumption and generally shoddy quality of a 3rd party controller to eliminate it.
- Hoogs, on 12/07/2007, -0/+22Great, another thing to eat batteries.
- phort99, on 12/08/2007, -0/+22Technically it's not a nunchuk anymore when you remove the chain, is it?
- a3r0, on 12/08/2007, -0/+18Couldn't they at least try to match the colour of plastic?
- nextyoyoma, on 12/07/2007, -0/+16boxing....boxing is a different sport than bowling, even in Wiiworld
- soccerman90, on 12/07/2007, -1/+17it doesnt make it thicker, it makes it longer. Please take the time to learn the definition of words
- moocow1452, on 12/07/2007, -0/+14What about the remote charger? That thing's just awesome.
- inactive, on 12/07/2007, -2/+16Does anyone make 3rd party controllers that don't suck?
- emjaymj, on 12/07/2007, -0/+9I don't know about you, but when I play Wii Boxing, I'm afraid of breaking the cord and it gets tangled. Maybe you're just a small person?
- MackPrime, on 12/08/2007, -0/+8it's two sticks
- inactive, on 12/07/2007, -0/+7When Nintendo decides to make one, I might consider it. Enough with the low quality, 3rd-party crapola.
- heypetray, on 12/07/2007, -3/+9I liked your article summary. :)
- JayBabs, on 12/08/2007, -0/+6I thought it was called the Nunchuk because of it turned the controller into a "nunchuk-like" object. Hence the cord connecting the two controllers...
- Gryffydd, on 12/07/2007, -0/+6Just get a 15 minute charger and a handful of NiMH batteries. On the downside, I've noticed the rapid chargers seem to kill batteries over time.
- adoggz, on 12/08/2007, -1/+7Logitech
- n8r0n, on 12/08/2007, -0/+6Nintendo does make controller grips. They are free. Check their website.
- nicko68, on 12/08/2007, -0/+5Who actually types out "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock". I mean really...
- shaun1018, on 12/08/2007, -0/+5advertisers.
- Ashex, on 12/08/2007, -0/+5Nyko actually makes surprisingly great hardware. I have the Wii recharging station and it works flawlessly for me. I sent them an email once when I was having trouble with it and they gave me some tips on what to do, and if that didn't fix it, so just send it in with a written explanation and they would replace it. No requests for proof of purchase or s/n.
- Narwaffle, on 12/07/2007, -0/+4Why are third party controllers always stereotypically hideous? This particular peripheral looks like it was carved out of wood.
- kss42, on 12/07/2007, -3/+7Om nom nom
- Schmapdi, on 12/08/2007, -0/+4Nope - 6 feet, pretty big frame. I've not played a lot of Wii Sports since I got it. But I did the boxing a few times before I got bored with it and no problems. Perhaps you have long arms :) Or you are over-exaggerating your punches.
- candafilm, on 12/07/2007, -0/+3Fish wasn't exactly the thing I was thinking of.
- tuxidomasx, on 12/07/2007, -2/+5i wish nintendo would get on this and build one to THEIR standards like they did with the wavebird. 3rd party controllers always seem to disappoint... but if nintendo started making wireless wiimote/nunchuck combos, i'd be first in line.
but this nyko thing... nah playa - zzzpoohzzz, on 12/08/2007, -0/+3i think i'll have to go ahead and disagree with you there... even with the batteries its just as light
- falstaff, on 12/08/2007, -0/+3My first one crapped out pretty quickly, but the exchange was easy and the second has been working like a godsend. Well worth it, overall.
- rebelphoenix, on 12/07/2007, -0/+2Hori, but that's all.
- TheSageBush, on 12/08/2007, -0/+2I wonder how much damage this can create without a tether...?
- audvisart, on 12/08/2007, -0/+2Well, thank God. With my 12 foot armspan, The nunchuck simply couldn't stretch far enough to accommodate the cable that hangs down to most other people's waists. Now I'll be able to operate my wiimote from different hemispheres.
- MasterThief117, on 12/08/2007, -0/+2Another thing I need to worry about charging/replacement batteries. Like hell I would get this. Plus the wired one could in theory help prevent the Wiimote from being flung into my TV.
- rebelphoenix, on 12/07/2007, -1/+3Great more frigging batteries.
- BenKenobi88, on 12/08/2007, -1/+3The fact that you were having problems with it keeps it from being "surprisingly great"...but the 3rd party stuff I have so far is ok.
It's ok because Nintendo doesn't even make charger stations or controller grips or whatever...if they did it'd pretty much be guaranteed to be the best. - Ignitedude, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1Shame it isn't first party.
- soulpiercer7, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1I wish I could digg this comment twice soccerman
- boldfire, on 12/08/2007, -1/+2Yes there should, else it wouldn't have been a nunchuck. Personally I don't mind using cables for the extensions at all. I can see it being much more convenient simply plugging it in that turning on the extension and re-synchronize with the controller each time.
- wiihuck, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1no way. if i can have a bluetooth headset for my phone that is smaller than the nunchuck and lasts 8 hours on a charge, the nunchuck should have been wireless. this whole "it wouldn't have been a nunchuck if it was wireless" thing is ridiculous. the wires suck. a lot.
- opnickc, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1Are you kidding? Think of the batteries man!
- soulpiercer7, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1wait, isn't the reason that it's called a nunchuck that it looks like one? If you take away the cord, it'll cease to be a nunchuck. They'd have to change the name. All of the games that mention nunchucks will have to be patched to fix the name. THINK OF THE COMPLICATIONS!!!!!
be afraid, be very afraid... - ryllharu, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1"Nyko actually makes surprisingly great hardware."
Nyko Intercooler anyone?
http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/27/nyko-intercoole ...
Last year's news, but still relevant. Thankfully I wasn't stupid enough to buy one of these. - tastypastry, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1Sam's Club, buy the huge pack of double A's if rechargeable isn't your thing.
- opnickc, on 12/08/2007, -1/+2Or you could use the wired sensor bar and wired nunchuks like a normal person, leaving just the controllers themselves using batteries.
- JudgeMonkey, on 12/08/2007, -1/+2Eh, apparently there is some demand for this, but as long as I'm not tethered to the console I don't see the big deal with a wire connecting something to the controller.
- thebellmaster1x, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1That's what sleep is for.
Distraction while your Wiimote's batteries are charging. - WhereAmI, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1He has a Wii too.
And you don't even know the meaning of trolling if you think mywhitenoise is bad. wage, tru and user are worse. They probably haven't even touched a PS3. - opnickc, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1Uh, this wasn't made by Nintendo. And built-in batteries lose their charge over time - I (and many other consumers, I would guess) would much rather have user replaceable batteries which can be disposable OR rechargeable over a built in rechargeable.
