- mediaspree, on 04/09/2009, -4/+44Cue Lucasarts ***** up a 1:1 motion lightsaber game in 3...2...1...
- nysus, on 04/09/2009, -1/+35WiiMotion is what the Wii should have been from the start. When I learned you didn't actually have to swing the remote like an actual baseball bat and all you really had to do was flick your wrist fast, the magic of the wii dissipated quickly.
- bubbafoley, on 04/09/2009, -3/+33Wii Sports was awesome but Wii Play was really lame.
- Hansenman360, on 04/09/2009, -3/+19Yeah, maybe. But Tanks is awesome!
- RegalBegal, on 04/09/2009, -2/+18"Dear Penthouse......
- bffoley, on 04/09/2009, -0/+15I felt the same way when they first announced this add-on. Kind of like when they released the Game Boy Advance without a backlight, and swore up and down that putting one in would be too difficult and would drain the battery too quickly. Next thing you know, there's a new GBA out with a backlight and the batteries dont die in an hour like they claimed would happen. They wait til the product hits market saturation, then roll out changes they know you'll want.
- SteveMax, on 04/09/2009, -2/+14Yes, but it's worth the $10 price.
- RegalBegal, on 04/09/2009, -4/+15My friend code is 123120341p32945018346501346504nnFFKSdjkf2349849 add me!
- Tsuroerusu, on 04/09/2009, -2/+10I'd love to a see a samurai game using Wii MotionPlus, that'd be totally cool.
- onlysc, on 04/09/2009, -2/+9man, my ps2 is on it's last leg. guess i'll have to get with the times soon
- braineater2448, on 04/09/2009, -4/+11Finally. Wonder if this will be as big of a hit as Wii Play.
- Elranzer, on 04/09/2009, -4/+10A Wii outperforms a PS2.
- XeroXenith, on 04/09/2009, -2/+7Yup, my Pentium II in the attic is certainly with the times, due to it being a PC.
- Shadic, on 04/09/2009, -2/+7Or because you're wrong - I played mine yesterday.
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -2/+6Nintendo just has to let the Wii fanbase know the time/place and say Wii Sports and they made a ton on money. The hardcore will pick it up for MotionPlus, the casual will pick it up for the name along.
- cocaclay, on 04/09/2009, -12/+16Hey, thanks Nintendo. I sleep outside Best Buy to get my Wii, you release a horrible set of games for the next year, then finally you come out with something to improve the controller that was already supposed to be awesome (but wait, the games for it were crap), and now I'm supposed to be happy/excited to go out and purchase this new controller "improver"? You should ship me it for free. I feel like I bought a 20 GB iPod Video just to find out that two months later I could buy the 40 GB one for the same price.
- JollyDumple, on 04/09/2009, -0/+4This is a good start, although somebody really needs to tell Nintendo about how the internet has changed over the past several years.
- blacktempest07, on 04/09/2009, -3/+6I'm still trying to push the idea for Wii Stroke. Not the kind that leaves you dead, but the kind that leaves you feeling like a winner.
I like that feeling. - GeekNurse, on 04/09/2009, -2/+5Please please please please please make Sports Resort with online play. That was the only thing missing from Wii Sports.
- Shadic, on 04/10/2009, -0/+3Brawl actually. And I'm in a community focusing around changing it through Homebrew. So piss off.
- mynameistux, on 04/10/2009, -0/+3yay, finaly my wii will be able to do what I thought it would be able to do from day 1
am so excited. - DOUBLEZER00, on 04/09/2009, -5/+8I haven't found a game yet that I like more than Wii Bowling. The Wii has such great possibilities and I think MotionPlus is going to let Nintendo and other game developers finally accomplish those possibilities. Think about one of the first Wii games, Red Steel. The game was pretty awesome except for the sword fighting, now with MotionPlus that will be a millllllion times better. I can't wait for devs to start working with this technology, I'm not a huge star wars fan but I'm looking for a first person Jedi game asap.
- MacHarborGuy, on 04/09/2009, -7/+10can we please stop with the "wii has crummy hardware" or "wii is last gen" or "wii is gamecube 1.5". it's old
- sonofalink, on 04/09/2009, -0/+3Did you even read his comment? If so, please copy and paste the part where he said he got his Wii 2 months ago.
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -1/+3Onimusha Wiilords.
- tmeaster, on 04/09/2009, -4/+6"Nintendo's Wii game console far outsells Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3, and its DS, which competes with Sony's PlayStation Portable, dominates the handheld video game market."
Even if it is ***** - that is all you need to know.
Why would Nintendo need to make drastic improvements or be timely with updates when they are kicking the asses of everyone else in the industry? - JollyDumple, on 04/09/2009, -1/+3I have to agree with snobrder218, Nintendo isn't exactly up to date with it's new stuff. Of course it's still great, there are lots of fun games, but they've fallen behind in terms of technology.
- mikemehak, on 04/09/2009, -0/+2he implied this was the same as buying an Ipod and then 2 months later there was a better one.
But it's not. You buy a wii and 3 years later there is a better version available as an update - MacHarborGuy, on 04/09/2009, -3/+4not really any different from some of the xbox live gamer tags i have seen. hotstufflordi08394 for example (at least it resembled hotstufflordi08394, but it could have been 08493)
- Cassanova, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1It was alright. They need to make an entire game based around that tank game tho!
- BrownieMix, on 04/09/2009, -3/+4I hope they make a sequel to Wii Fit soon. I loved playing Wii Fit with my cousin Sarah. The yoga was the most fun part about the game.
- snobrder218, on 04/09/2009, -3/+4Sales != a good console.
Look at the Dreamcast. That was a great system but the sales sucked; about 20mil when it ended. Plus the Wii appeals to a whole different market/target audience. - snobrder218, on 04/09/2009, -1/+2Not being able to differentiate examples FTL!
- Zap2, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1with the times, to me means supporting with new games and often.
The Wii fits that, the PS2 does as well, but its dying off much faster - MacHarborGuy, on 04/09/2009, -1/+2@snobrder218 "Sales != a good console."
And even though Doom 3 was the #1 selling game that ID Software has made, that doesn't mean it was a good game either. It was a good game for ID, it made them a good amount of money to keep working on other future projects. And now we get free Quake3Arena.
I highly doubt we will see a price drop on the Wii EVER, and even we do we will see the Wii in multiple colors before a price drop is even rumored. - wowking, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1Looking forward to these improvements and the new game. Ever since we got our wii from http://wii-in-uk.blogspot.com/ we've played Wii Sports like crazy
- Zap2, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1here is an idea...don't buy the add on!
You're Wii still does what it did on launch day(more because you have more games)
Plus you bought it 2 months after launch, you have no reason for not know what you were buying(sure they might have been rare, but you could find test model) - geek4x4, on 04/19/2009, -0/+1Yeah, it would totally suck if you bought something like an iphone and a year later they added a bunch of features and sold it for half the price. Good thing they never did anything like that!
/s
If you bought something a year ago you can always expect upgrades. I bought a 360 hard drive, later they released a 120gb hard drive. ANd they later put out a 360 with HDMI.
This is just another add on like a dance mat, game controller guitar, or microphone. You don't want to buy it, you don't have to, but don't complain if a game comes out that uses that add on.
At least it's an add on rather than having to buy a new Wii 2 with motionplus! - LostOverThere, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1Where do I sign up?
- snobrder218, on 04/09/2009, -4/+5@Mac: Well first off, I said NOTHING of that sort, you did. I'm just saying that the Wii isn't anything "new". Sure, 1:1 motion controls will be, but really, is it that useful? How many people really want to play a golf game thats 100% accurate? You're going to suck unless you're Tiger Woods. At that point, you might as well pick up some clubs and hit the fairways.
Wii's hardware is undoubtedly older. It can't compete with the graphics of PS3/360/PC. Yes, its not about graphics, I know that. I'm just saying, with more people with HD, they want to utilize that. Seeing the Wii in 720p would be awesome. 480p isn't doin it for me. - Froderick, on 04/11/2009, -0/+1So, when is the good stuff coming out?
- AtlantaFalcon, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1Wii Sports is no doubt fun, but I can think of a few things I would've liked to have in the game, #1 being career statistics, especially in the golf game. My dad, who basically has nothing to do with video games, wanted a Wii just because of Wii Sports. We always talked about how we wished it would've kept track of the number of our all time holes-in-one, double eagles, average score per round, etc.
Having user controlled instant replays would've added a nice touch too.
The other thing off the top of my head would've been the option to play more than three innings in baseball. - Mtown, on 04/10/2009, -1/+2So this will allow the Wii to detect 1:1 motion control! Great! Now my wii can finally do what I thought it was supposed to do at release!
- WutDaHeckMan, on 04/11/2009, -0/+0swimming?
- squareears, on 04/09/2009, -4/+4the game looks a lot of fun
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgKoWac2TA4 - abrasion, on 04/10/2009, -3/+3Should have been in the Wii from the start.
No argument, no excuses, no ***** - should have god damned well been in there from the start.
The hardcore might respect it a tiny bit at least, if it required some skill, instead of waggle.
How many ***** Wii games can you clock throwing the Wiimote into a spinning dryer?
Sorry but ***** the Wii. - casker, on 04/10/2009, -0/+0I know lets just all agree to disagree, Don't you think guys............... Wait can people agree to disagree on the internet.
- Raiu, on 04/10/2009, -1/+1I'd probably have cared more if it weren't for the fact the whole time the Wii's been out I've only found 4 games or so worth buying.
Plus I'm pretty ticked at Nintendo for releasing a bunch of ***** games, but they refuse to do Fatal Frame for the US. -
