- Falldog, on 06/26/2009, -5/+38Regardless of whatever we might think of the games, Nintendo really has really found a well producing niche to milk. http://imgdump.info/img-still-prints-money-41970.h ...
- mediaspree, on 06/27/2009, -1/+19My girlfriends grandfather plays wii bowling with his buddies. Yet hasn't the slightest idea what a PS3 or xbox is. Nintendo wins this round.
- boydrew, on 06/26/2009, -6/+23I like nintendo. they certainly aren't producing many/any games for the traditional core audience but they are certainly revolutionizing the gaming world with innovation not based on graphics (a never ending battle they couldn't win) as well attracting groups no one thought would ever be interested in video games.
- hopeast, on 06/27/2009, -6/+21Stop hating nerds! I've played Wii sports resorts on my softmodded, out-of-warranty Wii, and yes, it is like Obama and Jesus having sex in your mouth. It is something we can all enjoy.
- highwebl, on 06/27/2009, -0/+15That's awesome.
Nintendo should hire you to do their advertising. - magneteye, on 06/27/2009, -4/+17No surprise. Wii is a fun system, great for family and friends. Wii is all about gameplay and interaction. I just got Overlord: Dark Legend, and the graphics are pretty decent actually, and the game is pretty fun and addictive. Tiger Woods 2010 on Wii? The BEST golf game experience on any system, period. When I want hardcore, I play games on my PC on my 22" LCD at 1680x1050 and get immersed in the sick graphics with my headphones on along with a case of the Dew and a box of Slim Jims.
- DawgMan93, on 06/26/2009, -12/+23These comments suck.
- mr138, on 06/27/2009, -3/+14Huh that's funny because I'm a "hardcore" gamer and I own a Wii but no ps360 (pc gamer).
You say you bought Tiger Woods because it's fun, and ordered Wii Sports because people will enjoy them?
So fun !=hardcore? wtf?
If i have to give up hardcore status to have fun playing games, fine by me, that label is ***** anyways. - INTERNETMASTER, on 06/27/2009, -2/+11Nintendomination
- krakelohm, on 06/26/2009, -5/+13Maybe it's just you that sucks at Wii Sports...
- tehrich, on 06/27/2009, -1/+9Why are people morons for buying something they enjoy?
- LostOverThere, on 06/27/2009, -0/+7Nintendo releases a single sequel to a multi million seller title and the company dies?
...Sweet - Elranzer, on 06/27/2009, -1/+8I predict a massive Digg-down buryfest since 90% of these are coming from insecure PS3/360 fanboys.
- LostOverThere, on 06/27/2009, -1/+8Proof that you don't realise that Nintendo can develop more then one game at a time.
- mr138, on 06/27/2009, -0/+7"There is 1 quality title for every 10 pieces of garbage though."
Yes Nintendo solely has this problem. No other console in the history of games has had shovelware. - Carrot1991, on 06/27/2009, -0/+6Nintendo:
http://www.penny-arcade.com/images/2009/20090603.j ... - LostOverThere, on 06/27/2009, -0/+6Then you missed out on some great titles, like Madworld, The Conduit, Tiger Woods PGA 10, House of the Dead, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart.
- TownIdiot, on 06/26/2009, -7/+13Why the ***** would nintendo release a sequel to one of their best selling games targeted towards a specific demographic? Its because your 8 year old brother and 'girlfriend' can compete with you that these games sell so well.
- kcchan1, on 06/27/2009, -0/+5All Wii games have a 4 letter code that starts with R, referring to the codename of the Wii. It's like the name of a CPU core that's marketed as something else.
- earlvanze, on 06/27/2009, -1/+6thanks for reminding me to download that.
- betocool, on 06/27/2009, -0/+4lol same here.
- LooterMcBeer, on 06/26/2009, -12/+15People need to realize that the Wii isnt for hardcore gamers and nintendo doesnt ever want it to be. Im the only gamer out of all of my friends they all own xbox 360's or ps3's and all of them have a Wii. The Wii is the only one that gets played. Its aimed at young kids and the 30+ adult non gamer. The sales of it prove this. I just bought Tiger Woods 2010 for wii today with the motion plus and its fun as hell. I also pre-ordered Wii Sports Resort because i know people will want to play it when they come over for cookouts and things like that.
Im in the middle of a raid on WOW while typing this and then im going to go play prototype for a few hours until we go over to some friends to drink beer and eat wings and im pretty sure it will probably end up in a game of Wii Sports also. Exactly what Nintendo is aiming for as a company. - theragu40, on 06/27/2009, -0/+3I appreciate that effort Qchan, as I have been a Nintendo fan for a long time and hate to see people hating on them. But the problem I see (as a Wii owner, mind you) is that many Nintendo-produced "core" titles are getting dumbed down for the masses. So even though they are still producing non-casual games, the non-casual games are getting more casual. This frustrates me to no end. Two prime examples are Brawl and Mario Kart Wii, both of which are much more friendly to lesser players than are their earlier counterparts.
That being said, third parties are really stepping up bringing some real core games to the wii. I just bought mad world and house of the dead overkill, and I really enjoy both of them (particularly HOTD). Then you have The Conduit, The Grinder, Gladiator AD, and more coming down the pipe. There is light on the horizon if things keep going in this direction. But I definitely spend more time gaming on my PC than on my wii right now. - groo68, on 06/27/2009, -3/+6yeah, cause wii owners spend money on one wii and can be content with wii sports for years, while ps3 and xbox 360 owners pay 60 to 120 dollars a month on a new game cause they beat their old single player one. that is if they can find any games they want after 3 or 4 months.
- JGUSMC7, on 06/28/2009, -0/+2if you can play wii sports 10 years from now and be content then I have a 250 dollar bouncy ball i'd love to offer to see you.
- JGUSMC7, on 06/28/2009, -0/+2I will totally agree with you just so i can get buried.
- fabio1, on 06/28/2009, -0/+2thank you for the very vivid image you imprinted in my head.
- dustinmacdonald, on 06/27/2009, -1/+3Nintendo didn't ditch their fans, they've just expanded their market. If you can't appreciate the many games and services Nintendo has already released for the Wii that would appeal to their "hardcore" audience, then you're not a Nintendo fan.
- sgroach, on 06/29/2009, -0/+1I wish I had read this comment before clicking on the link. Sigh...
NSFW :( - ka0tic, on 07/07/2009, -0/+1I'm sure you'd destroy them in any FPS though. Let them win at least one game...
- strictnein, on 06/27/2009, -0/+1Nice porn ads on imgdump. Dugg.
- Qchan, on 06/27/2009, -3/+4Are you sure about that?

That's it! Nintendo has more core titles than casual. That doesn't even include a lot of their Japanese releases such as Trace Memory and Disaster: Day of Crisis. - krakelohm, on 06/27/2009, -4/+5Wow... sounds like your weekends rock :|
- breakaway11, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1Wii Sports Resort will do pretty well for people who love Wii Sports, but are getting kind of sick of it.
http://wiifitaccessories.com - JGUSMC7, on 06/28/2009, -1/+2HOW?
- iamsmooth, on 06/27/2009, -2/+2SMG is one of the ONLY great games for the Wii. I'm saying the fact that Wii owners would rather buy Wii Sports Resort than SMG is retarded. Mario = platformer = a game, Wii Sports Resort = retarded gimmick that retarded owners are still falling for, I bet you're one of them!
Yes, I'm a Wii owner, last game I played was Punch-Out! :o So hard to come by good games as a Wii owner, *sigh*. Good thing I don't take sides in the console war and have all systems and game on PC as well :D Want my friend code, *****? - MRintheKeys, on 06/29/2009, -0/+0In it's design phase, the original name of the Wii was codenamed "Revolution."
- mr138, on 06/27/2009, -4/+4Yes, SMG is a fantastic game.
It must have been hard to play it though without owning a Wii.
So either you're retarded also, or you hang out with retarded people.
Which is it? - heysuburbia, on 06/27/2009, -6/+5Hands on mini review of the game:
http://www.wiinintendo.net/2009/06/27/i-go-hands-o ...
Earlier this month, I took Wii MotionPlus for a swing with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10. It was then that I realized truly what Wii MotionPlus had to offer. The device worked great with Tiger Woods and I made a bold statement: “Wii MotionPlus is set to truly re-define the way we play games”. The only way to prove that was to use it with another compatible game, one that was designed from the ground up with Wii MotionPlus in mind. And so, I got my hands on a copy of Wii Sports Resort. After a few hours, I’ve explored the many aspects of the game and have a very good sense of how good the game is, as well as how well Wii MotionPlus can enhance gameplay.
To make things easier, I’m going to divide up my impressions. This post will include my general thoughts on the game, but future posts will detail each of the activities. If you have any questions, feel free to post them in the comments and I will try my best to answer them. Anyways, on to my thoughts…
Time to start out with another bold statement: Every Wii owner should have Wii MotionPlus. It is a very fun game that has things for everyone in it and can even satisfy the hardcore gamer with the sword fighting, among other things. It also comes bundled with Wii MotionPlus, so the price is a bargain. If you enjoyed Wii Sports, you will absolutely love this game. If you hated Wii Sports, then there is a good chance you will enjoy this game. It feels like a Wii Sports-type game (because it is), but the sports in the game are much more fun and engaging than the first. Heck, even two of the sports reappear from the first game.
Don’t get me wrong, this game isn’t perfect. I found some of the sports, like Frisbee, just weren’t that fun for me personally. There is at least one or two sports in here that will appeal to you since there is a wide variety of them in the game. My favorites are Swordplay and Air Sports. Wii MotionPlus makes Swordplay so much fun and challenging at the same time. There is even a mode where you can fight waves of opponents and it made me so much more excited for Red Steel 2. And Air Sports… it’s so simple, yet there is plenty to explore and collect.
Even Archery is a lot of fun to play. The controls seem very natural and it’s satisfying when you do good in the game. In fact, almost all of the sports feel natural when you are playing them. There are a few times when you do need to calibrate your controls, but they are done in a non-intrusive manner. Before a sword match, you have to press the A button on-screen and your device is calibrated. Hold down A to start when playing Archery and calibration is set. You don’t even know the game is calibrating the device half the time because of the manner it’s done.
And even if that isn’t enough, just press the + button during a sport and lie your Wii Remote face down on a flat surface. In a second or two, the device is calibrated and ready to go. Very simple. I’ve only had to do that a few times since it’s mostly not an issue in the game. The 12 sports in the game are very intuitive and easy to learn. Some of them are more fun than others to me, but that all comes down to personal preference.
After a few hours of gameplay, I would say that this game is a must buy title for any Wii owners. If you don’t have it pre-ordered yet, go do so. I’ll explore each sport in detail over the next week or so, time permitting. Remember, feel free to post questions and I will answer them in the comments area. - Avaseal, on 06/27/2009, -7/+6yes
- Kanten, on 06/27/2009, -4/+2If the "casual game" library was a decent quality I'd be more willing to accept it. There is 1 quality title for every 10 pieces of garbage though. They desperately need some quality control.
There is a difference between a good casual game and a just plain bad one. There are many of the latter. - bsonline, on 06/27/2009, -5/+3If you look at the ISO files for Wii Sports and even Wii Fit, they are actually named as Revolution titles. I wonder if resort is the same, created before launch and held for polishing or "the right time"....?
- TurboSquid, on 06/26/2009, -10/+8Lets wake up and face it, Nintendo and the Wii are pitched at a very different group of people. They have made softcore-gamers out of a large group of people who would never have played a video game if not for the Wii. Plenty of people bitch about the Wii's graphics, lack of power, and "crappy" games, but these are the people who own a PS3/360 and enjoy games like Halo or other graphics driven twitch shooters, this is not Nentendo's market.
When the Wii launched there was plenty of attention made to their "revolutionary" new controller. There was plenty said about how it was made to look like a TV remote to try and make non-gamers comfortable with using the system and this is what they have done.
So 360/PS3 owners, please stop putting down Wii owner or those who enjoy these "casual" games as they are not even looking to get your money or time. You are not their market, and perhaps the people playing the Wii today may just graduate to a "higher" level of gaming with the Xbox3/PS4 comes out because of the fun they had playing on the Wii. - JGUSMC7, on 06/28/2009, -6/+3Don't comment here unless you love the wii...the wiifanBOYS will bury you to hell.
- Cowzeetgrass, on 06/27/2009, -4/+0long comment is too long
- Cheesepuffly, on 06/27/2009, -8/+3$250 paper weight. Blends in with paper nicely.
- CanadaMan87, on 06/27/2009, -6/+1I mean their whole business as of late, they've completely ditched their fans in favour of selling retarded fitness toys to non-gamers.
- srirock303, on 06/28/2009, -7/+2day 2, 150,000 un-played Wii sports games collecting dust.
- Kanten, on 06/27/2009, -6/+1To the degree of the Wii's shovelware? No.
- JGUSMC7, on 06/27/2009, -10/+3so would this be the 2nd Wii game people actually play?
