- Alphateam, on 10/11/2007, -2/+87This is lame.
My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who heard that it might be maybe possible to hack a Wii while at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious. - ninephoenixes, on 10/11/2007, -2/+45"...it means you can possibly run unsigned, home-brew code on the Wii."
For the 2 days it'll take them to develop a patch. - DrSpud, on 10/11/2007, -0/+25Buried for the disturbing image.
*shivers* - Inferny, on 10/11/2007, -2/+22WTF picture?
- rhfb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12"mob chip" eh? Is that when someone from Nintendo comes and whacks ya if you install it?
- Harbinger67, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12What the ***** does that have to do with anything? Look, newbie fanboy. Point your fact-gun somewhere downrange and not at the innocent stories, thanks.
- chugger1992, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11The Wii uses Flash 7
- aywwts4, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Yeah, and how are all those motion controlled flash games coming?
- drunkentoad, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9hey, i know that guy! And he wouldn't lie either.
- chrisinsocalif, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7The guy in the picture seems to enjoy his Wii wii
- ToadLeg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4man performing fellatio on Wii = NSFW!
- ByronT, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Well, I don't think the Internet Channel application can be updated without you manually doing it because I just updated for the first time, a couple of days ago, since I bought my Wii (a long time ago). So as long as you don't update the app anytime soon, the exploit might work on the (eventual) "old" versions (if they update the browser to fix this "bug").
- Puppetfunk, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Actually I don't even have a Wii. I play it at my friends house all the time and it's actually really fun. That's the point. Fun. But people seem to want Hardcore things to happen and they don't realize Wii is hitting the essence of gaming: FUN.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Thank you, Simone.
- skywake, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3if by hacker you mean Wii owner and by exploit you mean put a game into it......
I will find you some of those people that can make the Wii a good gaming system - FDL1, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Because, you know how fast Nintendo puts out those patches... Seriously, it took them a while just to prevent a basic DNS spoof to use the Opera browser in the shop channel before it was released.
- Stirk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2December 3rd, 2007.
- cawpin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I guess it could be consider fellatio or cunnilingus depending on what you consider the trigger to be.
- KingGoonie, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I don't even know what any of this hack stuff is that I continuously read about lol.
- cl0n3x, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Interesting... They have the article link to a description of the article, which links back to the main article on the site (click on Internet Channel in the article), and that's why I love gizmodo.
- csulok, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2there is no sdk for flash 9 so it uses an older version of flash.
- mightyzug, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5yea i totally agree. the wii is fun... as long as you don't own it. it's fun to go to your dudes house and play for a few minutes, but for any real gaming it is a ***** joke.
- Amablue, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You know when you've run out of good arguments when you have to resort to attacking the one game on the system that you're not interested in. By ignoring the other 99% of the games you make it much easier to attack the Wii.
- STARTSOMETHING, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1does anyone know any more information on this hack?
- E7ernal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1enjoy it while it lasts
- t0ny, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2No December 25th, 2007. That when I get presents!
- MSTK, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I'm still waiting to be able to run Linux on my Wii.
- chokeaduck, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1So this is more of a proof of concept type of thing. And one better turn their WiiConnect24 off if they don't want their console potentially bricked when the patch comes, that is IF there is even an exploit actually executed?
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Even if they can't force an update over the internet, they can and have included updates on newer game discs that automatically upgrade your system.
- MewtwoReturns, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Show me someone using a Wii hack to give themself unpurchased Wii Points, then I'll care.
- nolesfan247, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Ferris Bueller FTW!
- bsonline, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1New exploit? I already figured out how to use the internet channel to look at porn. My Wii makes for a happy Wii Wii. Why do I need anything else?
- skywake, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1how many exercise games are out for the Wii so far? Wii Fit was only announced last week and yet people are already saying that the Wii only has fitness games?
and while I am here, why is my reply at the same level as someone who responded with "SUX MA DIX"? surely Digg hasn't gone that far down hill in the last year... - MrSidnet, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Sheesh, nobodo owes anybody anything.
They already have mod chips that let you run signed code ("backups").
What this article is talking about is HomeBrew, unsigned code. I love all the things my hacked DS can do (Colors!, Phidias, Moonshell, BEUP, and DSOrganise being some of my fav's). I really cant wait till these things come out for my Wii. I would at least love to use it as a DVD/CD player. - krayzee911, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1He's... hacking the Wiimote... with his tongue?
God help us if he deepthroats it. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I'm sure you can just put the Wiimote in your mouth and suck that.
- dasdef, on 10/11/2007, -4/+4Nintendo hasnt done much for me lately. *****'em, they've already made enough money off of us anyway. if you ask me, i think THEY owe ME something. If my room had dust in it, rest assured it would be on top my nintendo wii.
- chrisinsocalif, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Sorry, meant to comment on the guy below.
- NicUrfe, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Yeah, i think we should raise money to buy it a new Kidney.
- BriscoCounty, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I don't know what you crazy kids are into these days but I'm not hack'n on my wii.
- seneyr, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Which is annoying as all hell since you can't use gametrailers.com at all.
Thank you Adobe. - seneyr, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1And what's the point? To brick Wii's?
- msarge, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1This news means absolutely nothing.
- archer104, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1No problem whatsoever.
- KingGoonie, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Funny... I have about 10 great games on the wii... best launch year for any console ever... and none involve excercising except for MAYBE wiisports. But even then... if thats excercising to you.. well then damn you must be one fatass mofo.
- MarkOfTheDead, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1that image made me wet burp a bit.
- koopa1, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Wow I am on Gizmodo and Digg... weird but fun! :)
*The WiiMote Licker* - mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2oh dude, you're full of *****. Shut the ***** up already. The Wii had a horrible launch, the only good games that came out on launch were Zelda (which really wasn't even all that great), and Trauma Center (a DS port). The best launch belongs to Dreamcast.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Wii isn't fun. As an owner of both a PS3 and Wii, I have more fun playing Motorstorm, or online with Resistance...yeah I know, not a whole lot of games right now, but the same can be said for Wii.
I have close to 50 Wii games (they're burned) and the only one I really consider fun is Elebits, the other good games are just GC ports. WarioWare is *****, I need games that last more than 10 seconds. - Puppetfunk, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Wii Kicks ass. You suck chode.
