- Megaten, on 10/11/2007, -10/+148Maybe it's just me - but I don't see people saying that it'll never have good games - just that it doesn't have that many this very moment. So to me this list is pretty off. I'll even ignore the fact that a lot of those "soon to be released" games on that list are probably actually gonna be ass or are relatively unknown.(have you really heard anything too positive about Umbrella Chronicles yet? And Disaster? Do we even know if that's still coming out, or have we heard, oh I dunno - one single sentence of info on anything about it?)
Plus, Scarface? Really? Decent as it may be, that isn't what I'd call a Wii selling-point. Coupled with the facts that Sonic and the Secret Rings sucks (yea, I tried to like it too...that thing just isn't too hot) and Manhunt 2 might not even come out after the recent debacle...this list is pretty much rubbish IMO. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -25/+111"Who said the Wii Has No Good Games?"
Everyone who owns one. - Tikkimann, on 10/11/2007, -7/+39"Twilight Princess is for the hardcore, a game that be a system seller for the Wii."
"In 16:9 & gorgeous 480p, these graphic are very impressive."
I like the Wii as much as the next guy, but since these were in the same paragraph, I had to stop reading right there. If you are making a defense for a system and don't want to sound biased, decent grammar is crucial. - kinseyincanada, on 10/11/2007, -4/+36Most of the games on the list havent come out yet, and right now the Wii has only two games that are good, Wii Sports and Paper Mario, and yes Residentevil 4 is a great game but im not going to but the same game again. I want to get a Wii but i want to wait till Mario comes out. also i would like to be able to find one in stores.
- thedharmabum, on 10/11/2007, -2/+28This guy hardly even knows what he's talking about, and clearly hasn't played even some of the released games. In his description of Wii Play, he claims that it includes "pinball" (it doesn't, nothing you could even confuse with it) and a game where you "navigate your Mii around a city block" (I guess the screenshot of the Mii-matching game confused him, so he made something up).
- thepotatoman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+26Umbrella Chronicles was at E3. Most said that for a light gun based arcade shooter where all you do is point and click zombies it wasn't very polished yet. Also out of the 20 games, only eight are out, only 6 are third party, and 2 of those 6 are gamecube/ps2 ports.
To be honest this list makes me feel worse about Nintendos lineup. - Septimus, on 10/11/2007, -2/+26It's sad when the best game on the Wii is a 2 and a half year old GC game (RE4).
- chris9902, on 10/11/2007, -4/+27Anyone who has played real games for the past 20 years.
- epyon180, on 10/11/2007, -5/+26Half of those games are not out yet and the other half are not proven to be good yet. I have a wii and I love playing zelda and paper mario but I have to say that I am extremely disappointed with the half-assed 1st generation gamecube graphics calibur kiddie games with no substance at all.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+25"Who said the Wii Has No Good Games?" - Judging by the title, someone must be saying it.
- charlescheese, on 10/11/2007, -5/+26And I played Twilight Princess on the wii on my 1080p bravia and it looks like complete ass compared to a PS3 or 360 game. I mean, it looks like ass compared to ANY PS3 or 360 game. That's not to say the art direction is bad, it's not, but the graphics and textures are piss poor compared to what's going on on ps3.
- pronouncable, on 10/11/2007, -1/+21Cool, a bunch of games not out yet and Wii Play.
- JigoroKano, on 10/11/2007, -5/+24According to MetaCritic
System: Games rated A or better / B or better / C or better
XB360: 7 / 58 / 116
PS3: 1 / 18 / 34
Wii: 2 / 7 / 24 - Epacitythug, on 10/11/2007, -5/+21Dont forget about Zelda
- snoox, on 10/11/2007, -6/+21digg, where wii owners come for affirmation
- Shanobi, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14I don't care what anybody says, it's the first year of the systems release.
One year into the 360's life, all we were hearing was "THERE ARE NO GREAT 360 GAMES"! But then Gears dropped, and everybody shut the hell up.
The Wii will be just like every other console in the history of mankind, building steam until the time that many of the big releases drop, then all of this arguing will once again be moot (as it was with the 360.) - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Actually, from what I've seen, the controls will have a big impact on Metroid. It'll be like playing a PC FPS on a console. I do agree, however, that so far, the problem is developers just trying to tack on motion controls on existing games rather than building new games from the ground up.
That said, I think Mario Kart is going to have a good go at giving Wii Sports a run for its money. I mean, it won't be revolutionary or anything, I don't think, but it's well suited to the Wiimote, and it's freakin' Mario Kart. - Matrix_Prime, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Nothing like putting out a list with ....I counted EIGHT....games that aren't even available yet.
- SeriouslyButNo, on 10/11/2007, -4/+13Well duh.
- n00854180t, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12Buried. I own a Wii, and most of those games, including the best ones, are not out. The rest are merely "okay", of the 5 that are out (Wii Sports for instance). Wii definitely lacks a good lineup of games that are available *TODAY*.
- meatwad506, on 10/11/2007, -5/+13Only some with mild retardation would consider Wii Play a "good game"
- dudefather, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9one hidden gem of a wii game has to be 'The Godfather blackhand edition', it has all the signs of failure, gta clone, movie tie in, ps2 port, EA, but it somehow becomes a very fun game on the wii. Its not the best game ever, but Ive sunk about 25 hours into it
- Sornos, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Who says I actually want to play Manhunt?
- Revlution4ever, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8umm. you are counting things that 360 had until the end of 06.
So, will i be able to count Mario Strikers Charged, Endless Ocean, Dragon Quest Swords, Umbrella Chronicles, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Batallion Wars 2, Zak and Wiki, NiGHTs: Journey into Dreams, Mario and Sonic at the Olympics?
Yeah, thanks. - samdu, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9But... graphics don't matter...
- jpt62089, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Near me, no stores have any Wiis in stock. Well of course they do but only when they get a shipment they still go pretty quick.
- charlescheese, on 10/11/2007, -7/+14Zelda's cool, but it's a gamecube game with a couple motion controls tacked on. As far as I'm concerned, the ONLY really great game for wii so far has been wii sports. I don't see anything coming out that will top wii sports either. Metroid again, looks like a gamecube game with tacked on motion controls. I'm sure it will be a great game, but it's just going to be like the gamecube games, which is to say nothing revolutionary like wii sports was.
- scrolltom, on 10/11/2007, -4/+10Wii Play is crap.
- shaolinpunks, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9I'm actually on my way back to gamestop to return paper mario cause I thought it was horrible.
- mightyzug, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6both are major issues that make the wii a novelty item and nothing more
- kunfu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Almost none of those games are out. I own a wii but the only game I'm playing is The Bigs.
- hbazerbashi, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8Even if you don't like the current games, the fact that Wii is selling in huge numbers, I'm sure it will catch the Studios attention since it is the most available gaming console at homes. So there will be so much more games, which is one of the most important things for a gaming console.
I still don't have a Wii ... :( :P - mightyzug, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9no let's not. that is utter BS!!! i don't give a ***** if the ratio of A rated games is higher for the wii, when that POS only has 18% as many titles being evaluated as xb360. 33 games vs 181 games and you're gonna cite a 2% margin as a win??? crackhead.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6And Gears is what, the 137th FPS for the 360? What's your point?
- princessangry, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6what about elebits?! I loooove that game. Can't wait for dewy's adventure looks really cute! and SMG! the two games I have to get this year! SSR was pretty fun, little intense on the thrusting (he he) but still fun I like the speed of it. ZTP was gorgeous! I loved it at soothed me with the twilight scenes and the wolf link was awesome. midna was cute too. trauma center second opinion should have been on there too. it was very different and great for people who love medical stuff.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7The wii has good games, just not any games worth the $50-60 price tag. If they were priced like DS games, then yeah, they'd be considered good games.
- pikpikcarrotmon, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Did anybody else notice Sonic's portrait on that mock-up Smash Bros. Brawl cover?
- brsteve88, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Buried for having six Mario related games. I have nothing against Mario, but come on.
- merdiesel, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Nintendo needs to start focusing on who kept them going for all these years... us, the real gamers.
- Epacitythug, on 10/11/2007, -5/+9IGN says Metroid is hard to photgraph and that you need to see then with your own eyes, the graphics are far better then what the Gamecube could ever offer.
- mightyzug, on 10/11/2007, -10/+14i owned a wii, emphasis on past tense. the games are crap and it was a total waste of time & money for me before i traded it back for a 360
- msgyrd, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Graphics aren't a selling point for a large majority of Wii owners. We knew the limitations going in.
Personally, I've played 360 and Wii side-by-side. On my standard definition TV, the difference isn't that great. If I owned an HDTV, I might care about the Wii's hardware limitations. - BuddyDoQ, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8There may be some truth to all this, but I've played my Wii games in longer runs that I have my 360 games. GoW is awesome, but I didn't want sit down for the whole thing in one go like I did for RE4 or Twilight Princess... Generally speaking I don't finish the games I play (Kameo got dropped on the second or third zone, Code Veronica on my DC is left collecting dust on or near the finial boss), but with the Wii, I just can't put the damned thing down. So port away, I say, port away!
- chipitople, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8i did
- samdu, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Zelda - Good game, but a GC port
Wii Sports - pack in party game
MP 8 - useless without a group of people
RE4 - THIRD iteration of a, granted, very good game
SSX: Blur - meh
SPM - Decent, but nothing to write home about
VC games - MAME/Emulators FTW!
Red Steel - You can't possibly be serious - frigginchris, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6or used to own one for that matter....
i sold mine back at the beginning of Feb. and made a $100 dollar profit off of it, I will probably buy another one when A. more good games come out, or B. when the price drops even lower. - blanktarget, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4How about "the wiii WILL have good games." half those aren't even out yet.
- MrObjectional, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I'm sorry but I am totally happy with the Wii so far.
Anyone looking for a "hardcore" game owes it to themselves to go pick up SSX Blur for a deep, challenging experience. - culbeda, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5RE4 is more than just a re-release on the Wii. The new control scheme and ability to perform a more twitch-style aiming makes the scheme better. Plus there are some nice upgrades / additions that add extra playability to the title. Overall, it's the best console gaming experience I think I've ever had, albeit single player.
- fadetoone, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Would be nice if it supported more than one wiimote too...
