- JoeyDa, on 07/23/2008, -0/+3God that dude for Wii Music looks like an idiot.
- Toproq, on 07/23/2008, -3/+4Nintendo fans have never been true gamers. How dare they pretend that kiddy games like mario and Zelda qualify them as true gamers. They just need to realize that the wii sports minigames collections were made to market to them and shut up.
If they want real gaming they need to buy a PS3.- daftfunk1, on 07/23/2008, -2/+2How dare you generalize Nintendo fans. Mario and Zelda are more important to gaming than any thing PlayStation ever did, and don't say Final Fantasy either because that franchise started on Nintendo.
- Toproq, on 07/23/2008, -2/+2LOL. I dont generalize. I tell the truth.
You keep telling yourself that Zelda and Mario actually account for something skippy. The rest of us know the truth. Nintendo just copied Atari. The only real revolution that matters in the video game history was the playstation moving people away from 2D and into 3D. - chaosblade77, on 07/23/2008, -0/+2Playstation moving people to 3D? The N64 pushed 3D just as much as the Playstation did, it was just less popular due to using cartridges over disks. I don't see how you could honestly believe otherwise and have any idea what you're talking about.
Just from your comments, you seem to be one of those people who seem to believe there was no "gaming" before the Playstation/Xbox. The only reason the Playstation was even successful was because a single bad business decision by Nintendo. Had Nintendo released the original "Play Station" add-on to the SNES (Yes, SNES) Sony wouldn't even be in the game market right now. Instead they were left with a near-complete game console and simply upgraded the hardware for the next generation and released it as their own console.
Maybe someday you'll realize that there is more to gaming than HD graphics and FPS/Action RPG games.

This article is half bias and half correct. Yes, Nintendo's fans always struggle with them because Nintendo is not a company that tends to make decisions based on consumer opinion. They make a plan and go for it. It's how they have worked ever since they started selling game consoles, and since it's working I doubt that will change (yes, it's a bad thing).
The problem here, as mentioned in the comments on that article, is the lack of respect Nintendo is showing core gamers and their fanbase by not telling them anything. There have been more first party titles that target the core gamer than the casual gamer, although some were noticeably watered down to attempt to appeal to both. Third parties are picking up the pace and slowing down the shovelware. Although there are still more core games on the other two consoles, that's to be expected. Sony hasn't taken their shot at the non-gamers yet and Microsoft is only just starting. Their entire libraries are core games. An entire market just for you, no sharing it with casual mom-and-pop games!
If you aren't happy with the Wii, then don't buy the thing. If the console had you interested because of the controller or the fad or some stupid reason like that it's your own fault, go sell it on ebay. You'd probably also be one of the people who also complain about having too many peripherals and add-ons. How many are necessary? Two, and that's assuming you play games on the virtual console and consider the nun-chuck a peripheral. No, your plastic baseball bats and tennis rackets that your remote slide into aren't necessary.
