  • caddyalan, on 04/16/2008, -2/+17There are companies which sell converters which allow gamers to use standard NES and SNES pads on a PC (through USB). I've heard that this is true for the Wii as well, but I'm not sure.

    • DrWho520, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1That is definitely a matter of taste. What is not is the concave vs. convex buttons. The PAL had all concave buttons, which could lead to confusion in the heat of battle as to which button was being pressed. With the X & Y buttons being concave and the A & B buttons being convex, you could tell which row of buttons you were on just by touch. I thought it was much more intuitive, which probably spoiled me because to this day I find PSX controllers obtuse to use. I can never keep track of the buttons!

        I have basically the GameCube equivalent of this, and I'm pissed that it's useless for most games.

They produce something amazing like this that would sell like ***** hotcakes and they only put it out to elite members who probably will not even use the damn thing and sell it years later on eBay. Until Nintendo mass produces these for the public or someone gets a hold of one and figures out how to sell these made from the old controllers... ***** YOU!
      It's ***** like this that makes people mod ***** and pirate *****. We want it the way WE want it not the way YOU want it.
      While I'm at it has anyone seen a "classic controller" mod of some sorts that you can fix the broken ass stop sign design on the analog sticks? The damn thing just runs straight for the diagnal corners and that just doesn't work when you are trying to shoot ***** up in Geometry Wars: Galaxies.

      The SNES pad was the perfect size, the classic almost feels xboxishly bad in relative comparison.

      I would love to get my hands on one of these for my second classic controller.

As far as modern gaming controllers I'd rank them Classic controller (if it had rumble) > PS3/PS2 > Xbox 360. Those are reaaaally close though, since the Xbox 360 one feels like a Dreamcast controller :P

I had heard that this was going to happen but this seems like a GIGANTIC slap in the face to those of us who waited to buy the Wii and Nintendo of America goes ahead and releases that ***** ass Wii classic controller. All so they can ass rape us with a separate SNES controller that can take the place of the SNES and the NES controller alone. I just want to take my classic controller apart and use the analog sticks from a PSP-2000 to get it all to fit!!! At least it would be funtional and not some overgrown bulbous monstrosity with a penis attachment!!

    Of course one could also argue they are a pretentious people who go over the top in wrapping up a silly Nintendo controller and make it look like it belongs in Saks Fifth Avenue.

    Hell, they could even make the thing wireless with a gamecube connector, à la Wavebird.
