- BlueSkyfish, on 12/08/2007, -9/+101No Metroid Prime 3, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Battalion Wars, Medal of Honor Heroes 2, Fire Emblem, or Zack and Wiki?
Maybe you needed a bigger list than just 10. - slim_nick, on 12/08/2007, -5/+76Sites down, here's the list:
10. Wii Sports
It may not be high on the graphics or excitement, but Wii Sports is a pretty decent game that will keep the crowd entertained for a few hours. Bowling and tennis are my faves, but boxing is ok. I'm not a huge fan of the baseball or golf games either, but this came with the console so I really can't complain all that much! It makes the list because it's pretty simplistic and people of all ages can enjoy without much fuss.
9. WarioWare - Smooth Moves
This game makes terrific use of the Wii remote control. Over 200 mini-games that are every bit as bizzare as you could imagine. Short story mode, but some of the games are pretty funny and entertaining. This one is good for parties and making a boring family gathering a little less mind numbing by challening good ol Uncle Frank to a game of Wario.
8. Big Brain Academy
For those of you who own a Nintendo DS, this game is sort of the big brother of Brain Age but with a bit more action. It's another one of those multiplayer games, but this one tests you with puzzle involving some memorizing, numbers and thinking on your feet along with up to 12 of your friends! Probably best for parties and earning some bragging rights amongst the nerdier crowds!
7. Sonic and the Secret Rings
Sonic the Hedgehog has also been one of those titles that doesn't fail to entertain and this one brings back the excitement and gameplay we've all come to love. Although the controls for the game can get a bit tricky at times, once you get the hang of it you'll be crusing around at warp speed collecting those rings!
6. Elebits
This game is kind of like playing Ghostbusters, only you are capturing these tiny creatures that give you more energy to cause more destruction...to the room that is. With your remote, you aim and snatch up these little Elebits while you toss around objects in the room and eventually the town. It sounds a bit odd but it's strangely addictive in a way. Worth trying out.
5. Resident Evil 4
Ahhhh there's nothing quite as satisfying as killing zombies. Although this is an older title that has been out for a bit of time on other consoles, the Wii addition adds a few new controls thanks to the Wii remote. Aiming is handled with more control thanks to the remote and your character's movements work with the analog stick controller. While there's nothing new as far as visuals or stories, the disturbing voices of darkness keep this title alive in my book.
4. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Impressive scope of graphics, good gameplay and integrated controls make Twilight Princess a must have for anyone who owns a Wii. Best of all, this game is pretty lengthy so it'll make your time well spent as you follow link on his adventures. If you don't already own this one, don't miss out!
3. Super Paper Mario
" Run through vibrant 2-D worlds, stomping on enemies and breaking blocks....then, with the press of a button, flip into 3-D!" Just as all Mario games are entertaining, this one proves to be no different. You can play as different characters throughout the game and each has their own special skill to help you solve puzzles or get out of a sticky situation. The dialogue gets a bit lengthy at times, but at least it is humorous to some degree. Definitely a fun game to play!
2. Guitar Hero III
If you haven't heard of this game by now....just get it. You'll be glad you did. With tons of new songs, there's something for everyone.
1. Super Mario Galaxy
One of Mario's best adventures yet!! This one takes him soaring through space where he gets to wear different suits to complete his adventures. The level designs, controls, presentation, and just about everything else are amazing. This is definitely the game to get if you're a Wii owner. Some levels have you cursing at the screen as Mario plummets, but you'll use up those mushrooms to try again almost immediately. Don't hold off on this one.
I almost forgot Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. I know I only said 10, but I had to throw it in there! - Epacitythug, on 12/08/2007, -4/+62or maybe just take out Sonic, the mono GHIII, and big brain academy.

- EvaMonkey01, on 12/08/2007, -1/+32Really? Sweet, another reason to buy it.
- srouquette, on 12/09/2007, -5/+26Wii Sport, Wario Ware, Big Brain, Elebits ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF !!! :( - BlueSkyfish, on 12/08/2007, -4/+24This is coming from one of the biggest PS3 fanboys on digg.
- Renton, on 12/08/2007, -4/+22Since everything slimthps says is wrong, this must be a killer lineup.
- bakefy, on 12/08/2007, -0/+18and the mirror is down.
- aguitarhero, on 12/08/2007, -6/+21Why is Elebits on there and Metroid not? And whats with putting wii sports on there? I mean its a pack in!
- thatsmyaibo, on 12/09/2007, -2/+15Pretty ***** list. The Sonic game blows and the Wario Ware game and Big Brain are hardly must-have. I love my Wii but this is just another pointless list making it to the front page on digg.
- Smwbigboss, on 12/08/2007, -0/+13That doesn't come out until February.
- BigPapaCherry, on 12/09/2007, -6/+19Buried thanks to Wii Sports and Sonic
Big Brain didn't help.
Really.. Metroid Prime 3 doesn't make this list in what universe? - inactive, on 12/08/2007, -3/+15technically, MP3 was up there. but MOHH2 is more deserving than sonic or elebits. it has the best fps controls up-to-date.
- noahhoward, on 12/08/2007, -0/+10This article isn't about the chinese man you picked up in that bar.
- thatcrazycommie, on 12/09/2007, -1/+11I don't even need to read that list, the only must-own Wii games that have been released so far are Twilight Princess, Corruption, and Galaxy. And Super Paper Mario is a should-own.
- jabob, on 12/08/2007, -1/+10when the hell is hockey coming to the wii !?!?
- Brad324, on 12/09/2007, -1/+10what are you, the narrator?
- STKD, on 12/09/2007, -1/+10Wii Sports isn't actually a pack-in in every country. Heck I believe it's sold seperately in Japan.
- Alucard66, on 12/09/2007, -1/+10paper mario definatly does...
- inactive, on 12/08/2007, -5/+13I think the sports games on the wii are a lot of fun to play especially when it gets cold outside.
- Smwbigboss, on 12/08/2007, -2/+10It's actually pretty good considering this was only it's first year.
- mpaul39, on 12/09/2007, -2/+10It was a bad game. And I liked the Dreamcast ones.
- Instaa, on 12/09/2007, -9/+16Alternate title: Yes, there are 10 Nintendo Wii games!
- markthegoth, on 12/09/2007, -4/+10guitar hero III in awesome MONO
- dasmartmonkey, on 12/09/2007, -2/+8Missing from the list:
Medal of Honour Heroes 2
Zack and Wiki
The Godfather: Blackhand Edition
The list is fair, but I think there is a large market of people who would disagree with games like Big Brain Academy, and prefer one of these instead.
At least Wii Play wasn't included... I would've unleashed some fury. - LightWeight83, on 12/09/2007, -1/+7my thoughts exactly. they might as well just ask a random person on the street what their 10 favorite wii games are and then post the answer as a top 10 list. no thought was put into this..
- EllimistX, on 12/08/2007, -0/+6Guess your ***** on its own is not big enough to get a mouthful, huh?
- opnickc, on 12/09/2007, -2/+8Am I the only one who LOVED Excite Truck?
The metacritic page for that game makes me sad. - Corrosionx, on 12/09/2007, -0/+5What are you trying to do?
- darkyplasma, on 12/08/2007, -0/+5Whats with the squirrel?
- ghotli, on 12/09/2007, -0/+5I buried this using a wii...
- noahhoward, on 12/08/2007, -1/+6I think you meant to say and entertaining and fun pack-in.
- mrhoove, on 12/09/2007, -0/+5http://wii.ign.com/articles/840/840066p1.html
- ExMegalomaniac, on 12/09/2007, -1/+6i didn't care for it either
- triscuitbiscuit, on 12/09/2007, -0/+5I guess that Gears sucks in your world then?
I would have to say that jumping makes the game more realistic in terms of movements... You don't see soliders hopping up and down when they are running around... - Chugaboy, on 12/09/2007, -1/+6I loved excite truck sooooo much. *high fives you*
- sgtpppr, on 12/09/2007, -1/+5This article is terribly written. It looks like he randomly picked 10 games and placed them in no particular order. So...a gamecube game (RE4) ported to wii and a game that came with most peoples system (wii sports) are in top 10, but metroid prime 3 is mentioned at the very end of the article and not in the top 10?
- jpbleuu, on 12/09/2007, -1/+5excite truck is awesome.
- barc0001, on 12/09/2007, -0/+4Ouch! Crusin'? Really? I thought it was mediocre, but not THAT bad..
- ncapone, on 12/08/2007, -0/+4It's not supposed to do that! Take it back to the store.
- phrogxix, on 12/09/2007, -1/+5Where the hell is Zack and Wiki? Buried as inaccurate.
- Shaflugi, on 12/09/2007, -0/+4CoD is supposed to be nice? CoD was crap
- Dorepoll, on 12/09/2007, -0/+3The second game fixes this. The running from the boulder is one of the most insane multiplayer experiences I have ever had.
- Smwbigboss, on 12/08/2007, -2/+5Thanks for the info, I didn't even know some of those games were out yet. It sucks that good games get no respect unless they're advertised like hell. Maybe I should subscribe to a game magazine again.
- LifesBane, on 12/09/2007, -0/+3The only half decent shooter? I'd suggest grabbing Metroid Prime 3 next time you are on the hunt for Wii games... you'll likely completely revise your statement about Wii shooters after playing it. The control scheme in it is a dream come true for console shooters.
- osko2052, on 12/09/2007, -0/+3GH 3 is sending out new discs to everyone who has the game playing in mono.
- matteusx, on 12/09/2007, -3/+6Come on only 10? In classic Digg tradition I want to read an article titled "Top 400 Nintendo Wii Games You Have To Have"
- osko2052, on 12/09/2007, -1/+4It's been fixed. They are sending out new discs.
