- PixelEater, on 10/13/2008, -9/+81Buried for 6 pages instead of one. What a tired trend.
- diggface5000, on 10/14/2008, -2/+45"thank you mario but our princess is in another castle" makes me cry every time
- Sornos, on 10/14/2008, -2/+37Missing a lot of stories from Majora's Mask.
- NovaPrime9, on 10/13/2008, -18/+33buried for babyman.
- BradOFarrell, on 10/14/2008, -0/+15Not nintendo.
- DaftAda, on 10/14/2008, -1/+15Ahh, good list but you missed the scene from Majora's mask, where the girl and her redead father are reunited. That really choked me up! :)
- inactive, on 10/13/2008, -3/+17I have thought many things about the Metroid universe... like how awesome it is... but I have never thought of it as a tear jerker.
- jotate, on 10/14/2008, -0/+13Man, reading about Saria becoming a sage gave me goosebumps. That game was right in that ball-dropping phase of my life. I was totally in love with that little green haired girl.
- amitait, on 10/14/2008, -2/+15In short...
5. Toroko No More
4. Saria Becomes a Sage
3. Solid Snake Lies
2. Koholint Fades Away
1. Metroid Saves the Day - Zerander, on 10/14/2008, -4/+17Best videogame maker in the world.
- bluesparks, on 10/14/2008, -1/+13Dugg for numbers 5 and 1. As far as Zelda goes, I always thought the frozen sight of Hyrule Castle being overrun in Wind Waker was moving as well.
- inactive, on 10/14/2008, -3/+14***** you. Two of my friends died at a wedding and then had funerals.
- inactive, on 10/14/2008, -0/+11Oh baby Metroid. :{
- lastmaster, on 10/14/2008, -0/+10Wow... I totally read the entire article, then down to this comment before i realized that it was babyman that posted it. Some of us don't give a ***** who posted it, it's all about the article.
- arobar, on 10/14/2008, -2/+11Of course the article must have no worth because you don't like the person who submitted it. Forget reading the article, just pop right into the comments instead to share your incredible insights with us. Obviously your time is very valuable, you wouldn't want to waste it actually reading an article for the content instead of it's face value... That is to say, however would we have known the article was no good had you not judged the book by its cover?
- jehan60188, on 10/14/2008, -1/+10if they wanted to write for the sake of entertaining, they would keep it on one page
if they wanted to write in order to make a quick buck, they would put it on multiple pages - wilem, on 10/14/2008, -1/+10I am glad I am not the only one that weeped when the metroid rescued me :(
- Zamfir, on 10/13/2008, -1/+9Weblogs Inc. need 'dem ad-bucks!
- awgg919, on 10/14/2008, -3/+10eh...
- Enasni1212, on 10/14/2008, -0/+6Except that anyone who will play that game has already played it. And I agree about their choice in Zelda moments. I would have picked scenes from Majora's mask and the ending of Twilight Princess over their choices.
- GamingForever, on 10/13/2008, -10/+16Dugg for Nintendo!
- inactive, on 10/14/2008, -1/+7Dugg for Super Metroid's sacrifice. It was the first time I felt genuine sympathy for a fictional character.
- shutaro, on 10/14/2008, -0/+5...the breakdancer. *sniff*
- KublaiKhan, on 10/14/2008, -0/+5That game is chock-full of tear-jerking scenes. Good comment.
- rayefrenzy, on 10/14/2008, -0/+5I MISS YOU BABY METROID! ;-;
- SketchaMPM, on 10/14/2008, -0/+5Metal Gear Solid got an update for the GameCube with enhanced graphics, story and gameplay. It was called 'Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes'.
- sadisticmind, on 10/14/2008, -1/+6I felt nothing for Aeris, i was always rooting for Tifa, she was the hot one.
- Serris, on 10/14/2008, -0/+5Shut the ***** up you insecure *****.
- Jareth86, on 10/14/2008, -0/+4Whats the difference between that and crying during a movie, or is that for pussies too? Not for manly men like you, who are totally NOT gay, right?
- all_about_the_D, on 10/14/2008, -0/+4after reading this all i could think about was how i wish i had been older when i first played ocarina of time, rather then when i was 9. that whole saria thing went way over my head i guess. butttt, even though it's not a nintendo game, the end of Half Life2: Episode 2 definitely had me stuttering. that was the first time i had experienced something in a game that could rival any emotion i had gotten from a movie or book.
- d3sapar3cid0, on 10/14/2008, -1/+5wow, you must be a real man.
- cesclaveria, on 10/14/2008, -0/+4I still use "saria song" as ringtone, now it is an MP3, but back in the day I had to input the notes on a crappy editor.
- ShatteredX, on 10/14/2008, -0/+4I agree with 1, 2, & 4. The Metroid saving you in Super Metroid was awesome and you got to use (very briefly) the insanely-awesome RAINBOW beam. I thought it was very sad when Link wakes up and realizes that the events of Link's Awakening were all a dream as well. And I was pretty sad when you visit Saria after Link is older as well (she was hotter than Zelda).
- illlookforit, on 10/14/2008, -0/+4Many video games today have these things called "stories" and the best stories are the ones that can make you laugh and cry.
So..."yes". Really. - ciano, on 10/14/2008, -1/+5I can't believe they had two Zelda moments and neither were the end of Twilight Princess. Maybe because it's a relatively new game, and they want to avoid spoilers...
- inactive, on 10/14/2008, -1/+5Yeah, the whole Saria thing was the one time I remember being really sad in a video game too. You guys were such great childhood friends, then you found out she had romantic feeling for you...but you will never see her again, nor will her family or anyone else she knows.
I felt sorry for her. - inactive, on 10/14/2008, -0/+4The crazy lady with the kitchen knife
- Wandel, on 10/14/2008, -0/+4I'm always amazed when a top X list has more pages than list items.
- dafragsta, on 10/14/2008, -0/+4The Koholint Island thing is definitely a bittersweet ending. I remember beating that game and just expecting Link to be return to Hyrule. You'd think it would've all been weirder if it were a dream. Then again, I guess weird is relative.
- Enasni1212, on 10/14/2008, -0/+3I agree, but I was actually more affected by his resurrection. Though it's not a sad scene by any means, Marle's reaction can be best described as, "awwww."
- nrox653, on 10/14/2008, -0/+3WTF?
- Scrappy1850, on 10/14/2008, -0/+3the breakdancer in the middle of the street? or when the grim reaper went to get his paper?
- acero47, on 10/15/2008, -0/+3A) No one mentioned Final Fantasy
B) Top 5 Biggest NINTENDO Tear-Jerkers - FallenTurtles, on 10/14/2008, -0/+3I always feel warm when I beat Viewtiful Joe and it says "Everyone loves a hero. Everyone loves you!"
- ursername180, on 10/14/2008, -3/+6I know there are going to be a bazillion of Zelda moments in these comments, but I think this one about Queen Rutella and her son is really touching:

(About 2:00 in) - shutaro, on 10/14/2008, -4/+7It's all about Paper Boy... That game brought a tear to my eye every time.
- ericnorris1, on 10/14/2008, -2/+5ELI'S DEATH IN HL2 EP2 omfg that made me choke up hardcore....i felt so bad!!!
- inactive, on 10/14/2008, -0/+2All of them were *****, except for the MGS one.
- rdvade, on 10/14/2008, -1/+3I totally agree. I close the page as soon as I see it breaks the content into unreasonably small chunks. Fools trying to waste my bandwidth to try sell me ***** (which I don't mind BTW, just as long as its kept to one page and flash is kept out of it). Maybe there should be some sort of warning like NSFW, or those little "this article may be inaccurate" warnings, then I can filter this ***** out!
- jac13226, on 10/14/2008, -0/+2the escort mission at the end of star fox 64 was pretty good too. "You've become so strong, Fox..."
