Am I the only one who hasn't touched my Wii-mote in a month or so. (Besides running around pretending its a lightsaber). - coheedcollapse, on 10/11/2007, -5/+59This is a stupid list. Not only has everyone already figured this stuff out already, but we're doing most of them on better mediums (such as the computer).
The only useful ones (which I'm still sure people who own the Wii already know about) are the full screen streaming video and flash games. That and the "FREE" Wii channels which I'm personally completely bored with (They need to actually get some interesting questions on "Everybody votes" instead of crap like "Do you like Cats or Dogs?" "Do you ride a bike?"...etc)
Also, sorry to bring it up, but it's silly that when Wii has a severe shortage of good games it's totally ok and we're digging lists on how to keep it fun, but when the PS3 is short on games, we like to blow that fact out of proportion while totally ignoring all of the cool stuff you can do with that system. - Okari, on 10/11/2007, -5/+5711. Play with your Wii.
- Itazura, on 10/11/2007, -1/+501. Play Free Flash Games
2. Watch Streaming Video
4. Play older classic games
6. Use it as a portable presentation system
7. Use the free channels
8. Use it as a free streaming media server
10. E-mail yourself reminders
Sounds like you shoulda got a dell dude. - geekfrom99, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4111. Keep praying at your Earthbound shrine for a VC release.
it'll come eventually guys, patience... - coheedcollapse, on 10/11/2007, -9/+40If that was a reply to my comment:
People who say that the Wii has "way more good games than the PS3" are deluding themselves. Not only does personal experience (owning both) tell me that that's total and utter BS, a quick glance at the Metacritic scores show that the top 20 rated games for the PS3 scored from 93 to 76 (More than half of them above 80), while the Wii scores range from 95 (At the top with Zelda) to 71 with only *4* games above 80....and that's with the "innovative" controller.
I'm sorry. I love my Wii. I know the future of the Wii is bright, but convincing yourself that the Wii has more and better games *right now* than the PS3 is downright stupid.
Add the fact that I've turned my PS3 into a full-blown media center (thanks to Linux+VLC - I can play any format I throw at the thing), and I'm sorry, but I think that the PS3 is well worth the money.
You think the PS3 has no redeeming qualities because you either don't own one or are too stubborn to give the damn thing a chance like so many other self proclaimed PS3 failure experts we hear so much from on digg. - praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -2/+31I just played with mine.
- Stereophonics, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2911. Go to digg and insult every PS3 owners for the lack of AAA games on their system.
- niradg, on 10/11/2007, -1/+27this is a bit offtopic, but i'll say it anyway
Message to developers: stop porting conventional games to the Wii. Make some new games from the ground up that truly take advantage of the technology. It would be nice if we could get a workout in the process too (who wouldn't want to do their workout by slashing away at enemies rather than going to the gym?) - desistere, on 10/11/2007, -6/+31"Simple poop in your copy of Wii Sports and do a few rounds of boxing and you’ll see how it’s possible."
You can also "loose" weight with a complex poop on Wii Sports. - schoate09, on 10/11/2007, -6/+28I've been playing Super Paper Mario, it's a fun game, but my Xbox 360 with Crackdown/Halo3/GoW is occupying most of my time for now.
- tacojohn, on 10/11/2007, -8/+29I can't wait for Smash Brothers, Metroid Prime, and Mario Galaxy. There are a few other titles I'm looking forward to and whatever other channels Nintendo has up it's sleeves....
- StillGaming, on 10/11/2007, -11/+2912-year-olds coined the term, "AAA"
No, I'm serious. Look at the embarrassment of the internet, the Gamespot/GameFAQs boards.
http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/search.php?board=213
"DMC3 special edition is AAA."
"Wow Deus EX is so AAA"
"This is AAA."
"New Famitsu Scores Out...Forza 2 AAA?"
*barf* - Dundasbro, on 10/11/2007, -3/+21Did you wash your hands before using the mouse?

"9. Loose weight and have fun doing it. There have been a lot of articles popping up online about people using the wii to loose weight. Simple poop in your copy of Wii Sports and do a few rounds of boxing and you’ll see how it’s possible. "
I think pooping in my copy of Wii sports would only be good for losing 2 or 3 pounds at most. - coheedcollapse, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13Holy friggin crap man. I've been saying that since the start. Game companies need to stop shoveling their crap onto the Wii just because it's booming. We need some really innovative stuff to do with the Wiimote, not just this general "swing sword, aim gun, throw whatever" crap we've been seeing.
- AntBing, on 10/11/2007, -5/+17Well said. My Wii isn't even plugged in right now, while my PS3 is constantly running either games, Home beta or Folding.
- gartekh, on 10/11/2007, -6/+18personally I'm not waiting for any AAA games.
The American Automobile Association should NOT make games. - MikeD606, on 10/11/2007, -7/+19Can someone tell me what it means for a game to be "AAA"? Who gives it that rating?
- KnockoutNerd, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1411. Hone your Smash skills to own the noobs online.
- ThreeSixWii, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11"Simple poop in your copy of Wii Sports and do a few rounds of boxing"
I am still stuck at this step. Guess I need more fiber. - coheedcollapse, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12Whoops. I assumed since this happens so ridiculously often (misstated price of the PS3) and a large portion of the users on this site are American that the $ stood for dollar and not the various other currencies that use the symbol. Sorry, my bad.
- fugularity, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Am I the only one still playing just WiiSports every day? I know it's limited, but I just love the gameplay so much! I'm excited for a full on wii baseball game...
What to do with your Wii? Beat my ratings:
Tennis - 2340
Baseball - 2290
Bowling - 1760
Golf - 1720
Boxing - 920 (I just can't master this one!!!) - staticneuron, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8There is no real meaning for it. I am not sure where it was started but I do know that it is used in the industry to much confusion. For some developers/publishers a AAA game stands for the Size and cost of the game. Most devs would assume a AAA game cost over 15 million at least. The other description for AAA title is a game that was largely successful (despite cost to make).
What is interesting is that when industry started using this term (even in job listings) and the media picked it up.... so did fans of various corners of gamedom which had them calling their fave games or most anticipated titles, AAA titles. - daRoach, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9I love how the bulk of the comments on his page are correcting him of his typos.
- TroyBenedict, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I have a better suggestion. Release some AAA games.
- markpenix, on 10/11/2007, -1/+71-10: Wiimove yourself from infront of the TV.
- cell00, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5There are plenty of people who play Super Smash Bros (64) on emulators online competetively, and the game speed is being "adjusted" (anything but slower makes no sense), so why wouldn't it work for brawl?
And please don't ever say M$ again. - qwerty1263, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I own all 3 (360, Wii, PS3) systems and I don't rate them against each other because I think each has a different niche a different approach. However, the 360 and the PS3 seem to be getting a tighter gap between the two because they are basically developing and releasing the same games for the 2 machines over the course of Q3 and Q4. I think it will soon be a thing of the past to see too many exclusives for any system, mabe 2-3 a year that will be worth mentioning.
- csbu, on 10/11/2007, -5/+10coheedcollapse its not $600 everywhere in the world
- TroyBenedict, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8You're a bit out of touch if you think that with nearly 7 million systems sold since November, it's still hard to find on store shelves, that the Wii is going to be irrelevant? C'mon. And so something like the PS3, which sold 87k last month in the US -- less than the GBA -- IS going to be more relevant? Might want to go back and recheck your data.

- fallenone05, on 10/11/2007, -1/+511. Post VC release announcements on digg every freaking week, THANK GOD THEY CREATED A SEPARATE NINTENDO SECTION ON DIGG!
- Korexz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I wouldn't say I haven't touched my wiimote in a month, but I have been playing a lot of Mario Kart Double Dash and Soul Calibur II.
Any idea how hard it was to find wavebirds?
Nintendo needs a firmware update to let you use the classic controller on GameCube games! - mightyarmenian, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4this link to older classic games http://cube.ign.com/articles/772/772300p1.html on the gamecube was better than the article
- mightyzug, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5#11 - trade it in for a 360 :P
- joey368, on 10/11/2007, -1/+411. Play Zelda again & complain that Link doesn't wear pajamas the 2nd time.
- STKD, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Nope. Still playing Tennis and Bowling whenever I need some fun. If someone had told me at launch I'd still be playing the "tech demo" 6 months on, I wouldn't have believed it myself.
Must... bowl... perfect... game! - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Sold my Wii. And might consider picking one up again after it builds up an awesome game library in a few years.

- fugularity, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Why does anyone think blocking anyone does anything worthwhile? It seems awfully petulant to me...
- Tikkimann, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Are you guys talking about the original, or the Japanese one for the N64 that was never released? I think it was called Mother 3...
- tacojohn, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Good news guys- my typos has been corrected. w00t!
- coheedcollapse, on 10/11/2007, -7/+91) It's $600
2) Instead of "Virtual Console" games we get around one or two classic (or full blown original games) with multiplayer networking added for about the same price per week. (That and you can boot up SNES9x in Linux to play any backup you might have from your original SNES days at no extra charge).
I understand what you're getting at though. The cost is hard to swallow for most. There are just plenty of ways to justify it for some - it all depends on what you're looking or in a system really. - YagLana, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Your mother doesn't count.
- posure, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Super Paper Mario was pretty good (although its a bit too slow-paced). Thats the only time I've touched my Wii much since launch other than parties though. Most of my solo gaming time goes to the 360 because of the much better graphics and online capabilities (that and I got sick of swinging the Wiimote around).
- kravex, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Buy a wiimote and take it round to your friend who has one :-)

Thank you! I am not sure its worth trying to argue back to people who cannot form their own opinions. - Okari, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2@Xerus
Most of the games we have now are too short. SPM was fun, but I beat it in less than a week, which is fast for me. -
