- apothekari, on 11/22/2008, -7/+124Yay 90% of the list is over a YEAR old.
*sigh*
I was so exited to have a Wii a year ago...Now?...Not so much. - MCA2142, on 11/22/2008, -4/+77Publishers for each game:
10. Lucas Arts
9. EA
8. Nintendo
7. Nintendo
6. Nintendo
5. Nintendo
4. Nintendo
3. Nintendo
2. Nintendo
1. Care to venture a guess?
Not much of an ecosystem if you ask me. - Jenovaside, on 11/22/2008, -3/+61no Zack and wiki, no okami? no re4?
- Froderick, on 11/22/2008, -13/+54Only 4 of these games are even worth playing. And Twilight Princess isn't a Wii game. It's a Wii port of a Gamecube game.
- arcanesmile, on 11/22/2008, -23/+62Top 10?.. .Wii has 10 games? haha, ***** me
- GhostyBoy, on 11/22/2008, -3/+38I bought the system because it was an innovative new approach to gaming...I remained in denial while my friends played GTA4...."whatever man, Nintendo is going to blow everything else out of the water pretty soon!"...
I am pretty close to just giving up on them. This is ridiculous. - Bulks, on 11/22/2008, -11/+467 games produced by Nintendo, 2 multi-platform, and a truck racing game.
Wee. - GhostyBoy, on 11/22/2008, -8/+38Bowling? Golf? Excite Truck?!?
This list just proves what everyone is saying, they need to get off their asses and make some good games. - groo68, on 11/22/2008, -2/+28It's sad when a three year old cares about the graphics and not the fun of the game.
- chaosblade77, on 11/22/2008, -0/+23No No More Heroes? That one comes across weird...
I'd also put Fire Emblem in my top 10, but Radiant Dawn had some issues and I can see not including it. - Nameloc, on 11/22/2008, -4/+27Am I the only one here that thinks most of this list is sub par?
- HolyMan28, on 11/22/2008, -22/+43Wii bores me.
- explodingtree, on 11/22/2008, -2/+22They lost me at calling Force Unleashed one of the "most best" games.
- clearlychris, on 11/22/2008, -9/+29Wii Tennis > Wii Bowling
- orion846, on 11/22/2008, -1/+16there was a lot of judgment and holier-than-thou in your post, for someone claiming to have been exactly where he was not long ago
- anmweber, on 11/22/2008, -3/+18I agree with the #1 100% SMG is such a beautiful game!
- tttt123, on 11/22/2008, -7/+22excited*
- MFoody, on 11/22/2008, -2/+16Like what. I have a wii and would like to know.
- sh0rtstop00, on 11/22/2008, -1/+15w00t just got the Wii and played with family last night.. it was awesome, considering our family usually do things by themselves. the Wii has united us.
- tbob19, on 11/22/2008, -0/+13No. It does look different but it sure as hell is sharper and runs better.
- christopheles, on 11/22/2008, -1/+13They ported it to Wii n00b. And it's better on Wii n00b.
- trivialmaggot, on 11/22/2008, -1/+13No "No More Heroes" = no top 10 list.
- TekTrixter, on 11/22/2008, -1/+13OK, bend over...
- Shakermaker, on 11/22/2008, -0/+11Careful - you don't want to make his boyfriend mad though...
- Whackly, on 11/22/2008, -0/+11By appealing to everyone in the family for different reasons. My wife plays Mario Kart and Wii Fit. My son plays the VC games and Wario Ware. I play Battalion Wars and World Of Goo. If I had to get rid of all but one of the entertainment devices in the house I would keep the Wii. It's not my personal favorite but it is the only console we can all have fun with by ourselves and also have fun with together.
- jinxedbohemian, on 11/22/2008, -0/+11Where the ***** is No More Heroes on that list?
Or Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn? - MonkeyoChaos, on 11/22/2008, -4/+14First off "you’re playing in one of the most best Star Wars video games world of all time. " lol.
Secondly several of these games suck, and like others have pointed out, the biggest problem with Nintendo is that they are the only ones that put out good games on their systems. So we get a Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Mario Kart, one or two other games, and then we sit around twiddling our thumbs waiting for the next ones.
#10 Why in the hell would you play Force Unleashed on Wii when you can play a version that doesn't look like ass on the 360 or PS3?
#9 Crap game. It's fun when you first pick it up, but soon as you get over the novelty of it, it's crap.
#8 The controls, while interesting, are not precise and can be frustrating.
#7 Good game, no complaints
#6 Great game
#5 A step back from Double Dash. Just not as good of a game as Double Dash was, and a lot of the changes were for the worse.
#4 Wii bowling/sports awesome
#3 I never much cared for the Smash Bros games myself, but it's a solid game with a ton of extras
#2 Best game on the system IMO
#1 Also amazing. - lovemorgul, on 11/22/2008, -11/+20There are TONS of good games for the Wii, just a lot of them are not traditional FPS/RPG stuff you’ll find on the other consoles.
- Whackly, on 11/22/2008, -1/+10Agreed, but don't assume that this list represents all the good games on the system. The list was banal and predictable. Force Unleashed isn't a very good game and using Wii controls doesn't make it better. Excite Truck is fun for like 2 hours and then it becomes boring. Twilight Princess is a retread with the world switching twist thrown in to distract you from the fact that it's a graphical update to the N4 titles. Mario Kart and Mario Galaxy are legit awesome games but it's not like there's nothing better on the console. No More Heroes. Boom Blox. World Of Goo. Batallion Wars 2. I realize the list is their favorites not necessarily the critical best of the console but it seems like the list makers don't really branch out much past what's advertised on the Nintendo Channel.
- aaabbbsss, on 11/22/2008, -7/+15Cliche and fabricated.
- PattycakesHaze, on 11/22/2008, -0/+7That is because this list was made by an 8th grader.
- Whackly, on 11/22/2008, -2/+8No. In fact you are dead on. The makers of the list don't get out much, apparently.
- Borgcube, on 11/22/2008, -0/+6By being the most sold one?
- championchap, on 11/23/2008, -1/+7Actually. he's right.
Super Paper Mario was going to be released on the GameCube some time ago.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Paper_Mario
Second line.
Do some research. - TalkGibberish, on 11/22/2008, -1/+7Is it Nintendo?
- conkeso, on 11/22/2008, -1/+7It obviously is "bestest"
- qwertyuio, on 11/22/2008, -1/+7The first three comments were from accounts created on the same day, and the comments were posted within 2 minutes of each other. Seems legit.
- BartonMathews, on 11/22/2008, -2/+8wtf no it doesn't!!! okami ftw!
- jcroweall7, on 11/22/2008, -0/+6I like my Wii, but I'm much more of a casual gamer. That said, I don't have any of the "party" games (except Smash Bros.)... But aside from the obvious picks, De Blob, Boom Blox and Zack and Wiki are top-notch games. I just had some friends over last night to play Mario Kart, and we had a blast. Frankly, I don't think Nintendo needs to release 5-star titles every month or every quarter; the system is built on games that are meant to be played with friends over and over again, and I think the Wii succeeds there.
I will agree that Nintendo totally dropped the ball this holiday season, though, and it's too bad. The games that came out last year for the Wii are still fun now for me, though. - MarkOfTheDead, on 11/23/2008, -0/+5No More Heroes
Kororinpa Marble Mania
Wario Ware: Smooth Moves
Zack and Wiki
Trauma Center (two)
Not tryin to be a dick, but I have all of these and like them a lot. - foofightrs777, on 11/22/2008, -0/+5Were you sentient at the time that Nintendo lost Square and thus FF7? That was a HUGE deal then and basically doomed Nintendo to 2nd and then 3rd place for the next two generations, respectively. In recent years however RPGs have really faded in their level of importance in selling consoles much as fighting games did in the late 90s. The only reason Nintendo is #1 now is because they went outside of the traditional market and brought in a lot of people who did not play games prior to the Wii. Take them away and you have the Gamecube part II.
- FreckleEars, on 11/22/2008, -0/+4At least look ***** up on the internet before you post. Just check if what you are saying is nonsense!
http://letmegooglethatforyou.com/?q=Resident+Evil+ ...
It's a port more or less but it is still on the Wii (I liked it more on Wii). - PHJames88, on 11/22/2008, -0/+4I've played betterer games.
- vsujohn2, on 11/23/2008, -0/+4God damn, whats with all the Wii hate?
Like Nintendo said, its not competing with the PS3 and the 360, so if you like 360 and PS3 games the wii isn't for you. How hard is that to understand? I've got a PC and a Wii and I'm having a ***** good time. - tbob19, on 11/22/2008, -1/+5It is also on Wii, PS2, and Windows. It is best on the Wii.
- Flamekebab, on 11/22/2008, -0/+4SMG is much easier than SM64, at least from my experience. I never got more than 106 stars in SM64, try as I might. SMG was far easier - I managed to get all 241, although some of the purple coin ones were tricky.
It's amazing how enticing SMG can be when the alternative is writing university essays! - PattycakesHaze, on 11/22/2008, -2/+6I agree to everything besides Double Dash being better than the Wii version. Are you KIDDING!?!?
- hartley, on 11/22/2008, -1/+5Because maybe some of use are tired of playing the same damn action-adventure games and fps that we've been playing for the past 10-15 years.
I don't care if its got crappier graphics, give me new game play and new interfaces damnit!!
If I want the calibre of games on ps3 and xbox360, Ill use my pc and get GOOD graphics out of it. - EtherGnat, on 11/22/2008, -1/+5The Wii bashing on this site is pathetic. There's nothing wrong with not liking the Wii; it's geared towards a different audience than other consoles and has deficiencies gamers could find disappointing. Just because it's not for you doesn't mean you have to hate on it, though. Millions of people are buying Wiis, buying games, and having a blast.
I hate the word elitist because it's usually misused, but it applies in this case. There's nothing wrong with liking hardcore games, but there's nothing wrong with enjoying the casual games of the Wii either. Preferring Xbox or PS3 games doesn't make you superior to those that enjoy the Wii, it's just your personal preference.
Are you so insecure that you have to bash other systems to feel good about yourself? Countless millions are enjoying their Wiis (although obviously they're not well represented on Digg) and that's a good thing for the gaming industry.
HOw many people will be introduced to videogames on the Wii and then graduate to more complex consoles? Hell, my 60 year old parents own a Wii, and even my 82 year old grandma talks about getting one. If people are enjoying themselves on the Wii how can that be bad? Do they really have to enjoy themselves the same way as you?
Again, nobody is saying you have to like it, but is the hate really necessary? - groo68, on 11/22/2008, -0/+4They make too much money to care.
