- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -4/+140"gobs" "wii" and "coming" should never be used in the same sentence.
- Braingoo, on 10/11/2007, -9/+80There will be lots more to come other than those too. Like
Metriod Prime 3
Smash Brothers Brawl
Super Mario Galaxy
Guitar Hero 3
Raving Rabbids 2
Mortal Kombat Armageddon (with Wii controls looks pretty sweet)
Ghost Squad ( Light gun Shooter Game)
Soulcalibur Legends
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers
Sadness
Dragon Quest Swords
NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams - silverSurfer84, on 10/11/2007, -3/+55Where the heck is a full fledged tennis game? That game needs to be made.
- BuckleButt, on 10/11/2007, -8/+43Not to mention Nintendo's brand new ip's, Disaster: Day of Crisis and Project H.A.M.M.E.R.
- thebaron2, on 10/11/2007, -8/+39Well I hope so, dammit. I haven't played my Wii in more than 2 months, and I miss it.
- darkmagus, on 10/11/2007, -3/+34How about being able to walk into a store and purchase a console? Is that too hard to ask...i mean it has been 6 months.
- fober, on 10/11/2007, -3/+31FYI
Wii games are measured in 'gobs'. - Nick22, on 10/11/2007, -2/+29Im guessing you don't read magazines very much...
- SpeedyG, on 10/11/2007, -4/+27nyx210> Don't worry, in a few years you'll grow up, and the forbidden coolness of the mature videogame will go away, allowing you to appreciate any game just for the fun it brings.
- followme, on 10/11/2007, -4/+24Lets not forget about Battalion Wars II!
- daRoach, on 10/11/2007, -4/+22Dugg for Gob.
/The Final Countdown - yoshihama, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13These are nice, but WHERE'S MY STAR WARS GAME FOR WII? It's like the wiimote was made to be swung like a lightsaber, and with the built-in speaker I don't even have to make the humming noises. LucasArts, are you listening!?!
- NateDiggle, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11I want a new Kid Icarus game. Nintendo, please make it so.
- xerus, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12Is that just counting the racing games and FPS games about a post apocalyptic sci fi future with genetically enhanced super soldiers?
- skywake, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9@SpeedyG
we really need to redefine the word "mature" in the context of games
how can a game like Halo be called "mature" and all the games so far for the Wii be called "kids games"
I have a feeling that the maturity of a game is not directly correlated with its violence
have a look at GTA... sure its violent but that game is one of the most immature games I have ever played
I mean it is fun and I have played it for hours on end.... but its not "mature" by any means - swavalier711, on 10/11/2007, -7/+15dugg up for the use of "gobs," which I haven't heard in about 10 years
- xerus, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Blog post = free, Magazine = moneys
- fishbeef33, on 10/11/2007, -4/+10I bought a Wii just for the prospect of playing a new NiGHTS game. And when they figure out the best way to utilize the Wii-mote for Katamari, there will be absolutely no looking back.
Hell, if nothing else I'll have fun playing Gunstar Heroes on the Virtual Console. - blaaguuu, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9@bucklebutt
I too am quite interested in Project HAMMER - there has hardly been any info released on it sofar, but I am very intrigued. - AgentofId, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Lol, beat me to it OgnodoD...
You see NenDaiKi, studios actually like it when fans can find new entries in their franchises easily, so to avoid confusion they generally keep the name the same and tack on a new subtitle, or a number. ;) - vuke69, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6How about a decent platformer? Is that too much to ask?
SPM is cool and all, but the whole RPG "lite" genre just isn't doing it for me. - PeaTearGryphon, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5@nyx210
Wait for Manhunt 2 for the wii, possibly the most violent game ever to be released on a nintendo system (I know that isn't saying much but still...). - perryge, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I would, and perhaps will, buy a Wii just for Super Smash Bros Brawl. It should be on that list.
- DreamVsPs2, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7To bad " promising" doesnt always mean good. half the games will suck.
such shame ...... - dragonDC, on 10/11/2007, -8/+11I am so pumped for RE4 on Wii. I don't know why. I put 60 hrs into the gamecube version, but this has me all excited again. And I'm so thirsty for Resident Evil that I will be giving umbrella chronicles a shot also (no pun intended).
No More Heroes is going to be awesome also. - jabob, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7where the ***** is Wii Hockey or NHL Hockey?!?
is there no interest in this?
i can't WAIT to use that Wiimote for some stick handling - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Really, is anyone looking forward to using the Wii-mote to control Smash Brothers Brawl (or any fighter)?
The few great games I've seen or read anything about have been terrible matches for the Wii controller. - Goombellaofgoom, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3You seriously want to *pay* for something they're going to give us for free?
WTG online play. - OgnodoD, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4"The only question is why of all games they could rip titles from they chose THAT. "
Maybe because it's a Geometry Wars game? http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/21/geometry-wars-galaxies-shooting-for-wii-ds/ - robbiedo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I just bought Madden 07 last night at Target for $30. Fun stuff. The graphics leave something to be desired, but Nintendo has really redefined gaming.
- TroyBenedict, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Was I the only one who didn't find the listed titles to be all that impressive? A lot of those "gobs" are also being released o other systems, and unless the developers too extra special care to address the Wii's control scheme as more than just a simple port, then I'd rather buy them for other systems, where I can at least play them online (Madden 08, specifically).
The problem though, is that the Wii is becoming so popular that people are going to put out crap just because the user base is so large. I'm glad that the Wii has some promising titles, but it doesn't do us any good when they're not in our hands now. We've already been waiting a long time. How about some tangible results now. - Mystikal, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Gob: A pile of loose waste, coal and other minerals extracted from a mine that are not marketable. Gob may be left piled in underground workings or at the surface of the mine.
- Sparkster185, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Gunstar Heroes probably has as much playtime as Zelda:TP on my Wii. Only behind Wii Sports. But I have a feeling I'll be playing a lot of Streets of Rage 2, I love that game.
- PueSi, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Well you don't see people bitching all the time about the Xbox360 not having games so it's a big deal for the Wii.
- Tikkimann, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Eww. This guy said he though transformers could be good. I hope so, but I doubt it; remember, this company (activision) made Rapala Tournament Fishing, and it's a license game.
- msmearcheck, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2good now i can actually use my wii for something other than zelda and trying to get 120 stars in mario64
- muka3d, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Metroid Prime 3! How could that be overlooked?
And Super Smash Bros. Brawl? This list is ridiculous. If anything it is listing some of the lesser known upcoming games. - fishbeef33, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4My housemate and I have been wondering about Wii Hockey for months. Can you imagine what cross-checking or slashing would be like with the Wii-mote??!!
- xerus, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Yeah man, ***** colors.
- justice7, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2oh and Baseball ... well not as popular as it used to be.
- chuckamuck, on 10/11/2007, -6/+7So if this is huge news, what about the 200+ games coming for Xbox 360??
- MomentDEFINED, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1FTA: "Harry Potter (Wii). Okay, this may be a stretch, but the reason it caught my eye is that its heavy on wandage, and EA is making it. Yes, EA has been delivering the gameplay goods in my book, so this title could be worth your time. Probably not a must by, but a fun little title none-the-less me thinks. Coming next month."
No. EA is probably the biggest ***** company of them all.
"No More Heroes (Wii). Action-adventure game from the creator of Killer 7. Coming to Wii this fall."
That's probably going to be very "pretty" or "stylish", but Killer 7 was a piece.
Sad that Wii owners have to be convinced there are good games coming with a list of mediocre titles. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I'd have bought a wii if this storyy was true. needless to say I don't own a wii, nor ever will
- Amoveo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Darkstalker for Zelda, Super Smash Bros, and Mario I'll have plenty of games to play over those 8 months.
- Spazkake, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4GEOMETRY WARS ON DS NUFF SAID
- justice7, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2dengzhi -- Obviously not a Canadian.
Hockey is far from dead in this wonderful country. GO LEAFS GO .. . err .. yeah .. sens.. right. :) - KineticShampoo, on 10/11/2007, -5/+6You know what I see on that list? Mario playing more sports with lots of colors and Harry Potter.
Not buying a Wii just yet is a good decisions I made. - Shinobia, on 10/23/2007, -0/+0And still we wait for this stunning array of good Wii games that were promised. Is anyone else remembering that this is exactly what was promised for the Cube, and that didn't pan out either? I'm sorry, but pulling Mario out five or six more times doesn't count, Ninetendo! You're disappointing the heck out of me, a "casual gamer" who is supposed to be the prime target for the Wii. Casual doesn't mean we want lame games! And please, fanboys, don't even pull out the same three or four "good" titles you keep mentioning over and over again. The system has been out for a year now. No more excuses.
- Goombellaofgoom, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Personally, I'm going to wait for Mario party 9 or 10, when they've got the controls streamlined.
