- muxaulo, on 08/27/2008, -1/+6Ahh, the sweet memories of blowing into a cartridge to clear the connections.
- Gatesophile, on 08/27/2008, -1/+4I love my Nintendo 64. So many hours have gone into playing that thing.... oh the memories.
- joehobbes, on 08/27/2008, -1/+3The articles isn't just the history of the N64 -- it's all the other information about it....
Kinda like what all you should know if you ever want to pick one up.
Good article -- just wanted to clarify - bro2baseball, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1Agreed. I have had my system for 10 years and have never had one problem with it. And that is with A LOT of use. I still play my N64 with friends a couple times a month, and I haven't had a slightest issue.
- chaosblade77, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1I guess I'm being buried over game consoles not being media centers if flash cartridges are used. I didn't think about that while I was posting, but it doesn't really change my opinion. I'd rather a game console be JUST a game console and be offered at a lower price than offer media playback I'll never use, or have 10 other things in my house that already do it.
- Slydevil01, on 08/27/2008, -0/+1"The console itself is notorious of overheating and generally poor console reliabillity and durabillity."
My launch system removes its index finger from its anus, and places it heartily underneath your nostrils, sir. - NaziHatinChimp, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1***** that. In fact, I think the N64 was probably the last console I owned that never overheated. And those cartridges were made like bricks.

- chaosblade77, on 08/27/2008, -2/+1Personally I'd like to see a move be made back to cartridges.
Flash memory is cheap (cheaper than something like Blu-Ray at least)
More durable than discs
Higher capacity than DVD
Offers faster loading times, negating the need for game installations, as well as...
Negates need for extra storage for save data, meaning...
Any hard drive space would only be for downloaded content
Quieter than discs
Smaller form factor, meaning consoles could also be smaller
