- EatingPie, on 08/25/2008, -11/+37At first I was really excited, but then I saw that he's quoting the e-Bay prices. These aren't the actual prices for a *new* game from a *reputable* source, but the rock bottom, sometimes used prices. And from whoever happens to be auctioning it at the time.
So not at all an accurate reflection of prices.

That may sound lame with lots of great games in the past few years, but when Resident Evil 4 came out for the GameCube, I was floored. The Wii version adds better graphics and the first time the Wiimote actually worked with a shooting game. Plus there's the bonus content that the PS2 and PC versions had. So I consider the Wii Edition to be the master version of the most excellent GC version. And if you don't like playing with the Wiimote, just use a GC controller.

- joehobbes, on 08/24/2008, -4/+14What's wrong with Gamecube games? They play on the Wii fine, and most of them are just as good, if not better than most Wii games. Plus they are a lot cheaper. F-Zero GX is a must-own in my book.
The prices look fine to me if you average them out (like he says). Prices fluctuate too much to be precise.

I have a standalone DVD player (part of my home theater setup), and my other consoles play DVD's; why would I care about the Wii playing DVD's? It's just not a selling point anymore.

The three (four technically) mentioned after the Wii games are excellent, I'd recommend them to any Wii owner as well. The others were less necessary, but it doesn't hurt the list at all.
Now, if the list had the same title and didn't differentiate between Wii and GC games, just threw them all in the same list labeled "Wii games," it would be a problem. - joehobbes, on 08/24/2008, -1/+5Amen to that!

The Wii Ware game Lost Winds is really great (but short). I've been playing Dr. Mario a lot since I downloaded it. Zack and Wiki is wonderful.

If you look at the listings, there are usually a ton of ones significantly lower and ones that are higher. You can usually find similar prices on Amazon for the used games.
Plus, there are some of them that can be found for close to those prices brand new. Anyway.... I routinely buy used games on eBay with no problems. It usually easy to find a fair price from a reputable person.
And then you have the WiiWare... those don't change -- no aftermarket, obviously. - CarnivalOfDust, on 08/25/2008, -1/+3If I don't like a site or article with referral links, I make a point of taking out the referral tag if I check out the item.
