- DryCat, on 09/09/2008, -2/+78The headline of this story should be: GAMEPRO STILL EXISTS. IS NOW A WEBSITE.
- GutterMoo, on 09/09/2008, -4/+61A list of 28 games? Isn't that every title for the whole console? I kid I kid.
- Dumbledorito, on 09/09/2008, -2/+42Good thing they mentioned Wii Sports, or I would have never played... the game that comes with the system.
- Memitim, on 09/09/2008, -5/+40Nice list, but the page formatting sucks. Ads overlapping images makes it a mess.
- protogenxl, on 09/09/2008, -4/+36Go find a pen or some other similarly-dimensioned object in the detritus surrounding your keyboard. No, really. Do it, now. Don't sit there reading to see where I'm going with this, go find a pen.
OK, now insert the pen in between your middle and ring fingers and use your other hand to squeeze them together. You may have noticed that this really hurts.
You have now recieved your punishment for not playing Okami.
If you have played Okami, you may disregard the previous. - mywhitenoise, on 09/09/2008, -11/+40Is this list serious? There's about 5 Wii games "everyone" should play on that list, another 5 that I everyone played on PS2 or 360, and the other 18 are garbage.
- kingmanic, on 09/09/2008, -0/+23It's every title that doesn't outright suck.
- laserdog, on 09/09/2008, -0/+21They failed to mention how gimped the Rock Band port is.
No downloadable songs? They really should have figured out how to implement that in the year it took them to port it.
Especially considering that "non-gimped" Rock Band 2 for the Wii is just around the corner. - SketchaMPM, on 09/09/2008, -4/+22Mario Galaxy is the greatest 3-D platformer I've ever played. Never thought I would get to say that.
- springboks, on 09/09/2008, -0/+19Haven't you heard Top 28 is the new top 10
- smoger, on 09/09/2008, -1/+19yup,.. your kids will love Resident Evil 4 and No More Heroes. good parenting
- ironhide, on 09/09/2008, -3/+20Aw, look a gaming snob. How cute.
- johnomaz, on 09/09/2008, -1/+15Mario Galaxy was and is still fun. Paper Mario I just started playing and is in a class of its own. The creativity there is just phenominal. Gonna start Zelda: Twilight Princess soon.
- Fjosnisse, on 09/09/2008, -2/+16Ill go out and buy 28 games right now and play each one of them, because I have the time........ Thanks.
- Feety, on 09/09/2008, -2/+15Dugg for Zack & Wiki.
- ZephyrNinety, on 09/09/2008, -5/+18***** Guitar Hero, I said it.
- teh_spazz, on 09/09/2008, -2/+1628? Couldn't find two more?
- Methusalah, on 09/09/2008, -0/+11Maybe you shouldn't be playing video games?
- opiv421, on 09/09/2008, -3/+15What's with the 28 ___ lists?
- metapop, on 09/09/2008, -1/+12excite truck is loads of fun. one of the best arcade style racers i've ever played, seriously.
- Canuck, on 09/09/2008, -1/+12Why does the list have to have 30? They could have removed 3 and made it 25, is that an acceptable number? Is your criteria that the number must be divisible by 5, 6, or 10?
- ronintetsuro, on 09/09/2008, -1/+12I had no idea anyone still took GamePro seriously. I was expecting an Onion article.
- AlienHairball, on 09/09/2008, -0/+10He must be using Chrome ;)
- fadetoone, on 09/09/2008, -0/+10Ads?
- smoger, on 09/09/2008, -0/+8and some are $10 on WiiWare
- Dumbledorito, on 09/09/2008, -1/+9"28 Games Later."
- gavdana, on 09/09/2008, -1/+9I don't know ... "By far the worst system I have ever owned." Seems to imply your mom DIDN'T buy it for you. Give her credit, she lets you live in her basement.
- Chubs879, on 09/09/2008, -1/+9This list is great if you're already a fan of the Wii and Nintendo's new philosophy. If not, then there's nothing this list can do for you if you already hate Nintendo/Wii.
- sremick, on 09/09/2008, -1/+8Pretty sure there was some sort of gun in that game.
Yup. - Methusalah, on 09/09/2008, -0/+7I just can't think of a video game that gave me more than a "mildly satisfied" feeling when I completed it. It's not like completing a video game can somehow make a dramatic difference in your life.
- elitebmo, on 09/09/2008, -0/+7the pen keeps slipping from between my fingers, but on another note, i have played okami.
- noahgelman, on 09/09/2008, -3/+9I hated Mario Galaxy so much. It was beautifully made, that's not the problem for me. It's that it was incredibly repetitious and it was very easy. The game seems to be made for younger people. I grew up playing Super Mario World on the SNES. That game was hard and I loved it.
- svensksvamp, on 09/09/2008, -0/+6I collect all 121 stars with both mario and luigi, I haven't touch the game since.
I'll probably pick it up 5 years from now and be totally stoked, just like when I picked up Mario 64 two years ago. - Jelga, on 09/09/2008, -0/+5Okay, seriously, I know it's hard to not call the current consoles "next-gen", but they're current-gen consoles now. Get it right, yeah I sound kind of snobby but jesus christ...
- chaosblade77, on 09/09/2008, -4/+9Zelda was a GCN game with waggle, but Smash was an entirely different game built from the ground up, no question about it. You may as well say Halo 3 was just a port of Halo 2 or something. I'd still say Melee was a better game for it's time, Brawl had too much focus on single player and I don't like the physics.
And Mario Kart was disappointing due to the lack of modes and features. Compared to Double Dash it just felt lacking (not that Double Dash was really good), they could have done so much more with it. Online is the only decent aspect of the game. - smoger, on 09/09/2008, -1/+6you CAN boot a Linux distro on it. and that's a retarded request anyway.
..although freeDoom is pretty cool on it! - smoger, on 09/09/2008, -2/+7they forgot Dr. Mario Online Rx and Pinball Hall of Fame
- PabloIV, on 09/09/2008, -1/+6Mercury Meltdown is astonishingly fun
- smoger, on 09/09/2008, -0/+4you only stated that you wanted it to boot a Linux distro, which it does. you didn't list any other requirements for it.
if you want a little media center and it HAS to run Linux for some reason, you could always buy a Mac Mini - mywhitenoise, on 09/09/2008, -3/+7You had me up until that Linux rant. If you want a Linux distro so bad, but a PC.
- nicko68, on 09/09/2008, -0/+4Well that's how much 360 and PS3 owners must be spending since everyone says the "attach rate" of those consoles is so much higher than that of the Wii.
- purzzzell, on 09/09/2008, -1/+5Calling smash a button mash fest means you don't know how to play.
- bagboyrebel, on 09/09/2008, -2/+6Wow, another person who didn't like Galaxy, I was starting to think I was the only one here. I agree that it was way too repetitive, and it also removed most of the platforming that should have been in the game.
- opnickc, on 09/09/2008, -1/+5"You spend most of the time just walking around unlocking doors that lead to buttons that unlock more doors!!! "
It's called the adventure genre. - Vibratic, on 09/10/2008, -0/+4He was saying RE4 was a port, not Brawl.
- Nexus85, on 09/09/2008, -1/+5How can you ever put Mario Sunshine before Galaxy? It was horrible, with that damn waterpack... I hated it! Mario64 the other way, it's way up there with Goldeneye and Ocarina of time... Those good old times
- mrgermy, on 09/09/2008, -1/+5Even worse when you actually face the person you're boxing. Takes it to a whole new level of intensity....
- Step1Mark, on 09/09/2008, -0/+4I guess people think it catches the eyes more because they weren't being generous enough to allow 2 titles that shouldn't make the cut. Most list that are lets say top 40 or 50 tend to have items that should have been considered but not on the final list. because they need so many items they add it anyway.
- SketchaMPM, on 09/09/2008, -0/+3Double Dash was basically flawless. It's criminally under-rated for a Mario Kart game.
- banditboydavid, on 09/09/2008, -2/+5Dugg this just for the fact that I own a Wii. Don't agree with all the choices. I'm highly disappointed that they forgot to mention probably the coolest game ever, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. Now that game should go on the top 28 list. But at least they got Mario Kart Wii on the list.
