- drywaller79, on 10/10/2007, -2/+46Every time they release a new character, it makes me wish that that they'd just release the damn game already.
- image0434, on 10/10/2007, -4/+47every time they release a new character, it makes me want a Wii that much more
- indraneel24, on 10/10/2007, -1/+33I know the feeling. I've gone from "I don't care about video games anymore" to "I want a Wii" over the course of reading the SSBB site for the last few months.
- TJacques, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27-->+B - Poop Throw!
- mwmccullough, on 10/10/2007, -1/+25What it really needs are some characters from the "Punch Out" series. Hands down.
- Cyber_Akuma, on 10/10/2007, -0/+20... he can fly real high with his jetpack on
with his pistols out, he's one tough Kong... - KingGoonie, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21Um... actually this is one of the most anticipated games of all time... where the hell have you been? Its been anticipated since first announced...
And its a NEW character NEVER in the game before. I swear you 360/PS3 teenyboppers make me laugh. HAHA NINTENDO IS FOR 8 YEAR OLDS, I SHOULD KNO IM 12 AND PLAY MY 12 YEAR OLD FRIENDS IN HALO 2 ALL WEEKEND LONG. No life teenyboppers lol. - Bajeda, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17Ummm, no? Mario is Nintendo's bread and butter. Diddy got popular, but not THAT popular.
- KingGoonie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16As opposed to "HERE IS THE 10TH BIOSHOCK REVIEW" or "YET AGAIN MORE GTAIV PICTURES"?
- MonsterChaOS, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15I'm nearing 30 and I care. See, I like fun games, and this series is by far one of the best. Sorry if articles about it get your panties in a bunch.
- Bajeda, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14Good idea!
- MonsterChaOS, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13and KNUCKLES!
- Snyz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Nintendo is really creating a lot of hype with this game by releasing characters like this.
- Bartboy919, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12Yeah, I need to kick some ***** out of him.
- psg188, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Button Mashing nonsense? SSB is the deepest fighting game ever conceived. Play anyone who knows how to play and you'll see that button mashing will get you no where.
- jobobshishkabob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8just wouldn't be a Digg Wii article without a flame by NiGHTSChao would it?
- freetyme, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8oh my!
- mecole21, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Donkey Kong From Donkey Kong Country for SNES is Donkey Kong Jr. and Kranky Kong in Donkey Kong Country is the original Donkey Kong. Diddy Kong is a monkey side kick. Donkey Kong = Ape.
- funknjunk, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9I still want my banjo kazooie =[
- honeymustardn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9No?
- dagamer34, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Different set of moves. So far there have been no duplicates. I think Nintendo listened to us on that one.
- trib4lmaniac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7C'mon Cranky, take it to the fridge!
- michael1406, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9What ever gave you the impression that that would happen anyway?
- Konstantino, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8I suppose you also find it surprising that Nintendo continues to already include Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong in several of their franchises? (Think Mario Strikers Charged, Mario Kart, etc). Come on now.
- DagMX, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Diddy kong is a a donkey kong series character, therefore hes nintendo owned character
- DevinOlsen, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKuO-1GoNJk
"this crazy kong, just digs this tune"
YES! lol - saintdesy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Yeah, ironically, Nintendo fans are probably older than the Sony/MS fans. Nintendo and their characters started a lot earlier...I've been playing Nintendo games since 1986. I'd bet most of the people on the other side weren't even BORN much less gaming in the 80s.
- onineko, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Good luck FINDING a Wii, I called my local game stores twice a week since release. Just now got one. I'm not allowed to call my local game stores anymore.
- michael1406, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Topher, shut up. I suspect you haven't even played SSB(M), so why complain?
And out of touch with reality? That right there is the most idiotic comment I have read on Digg lately. You come across as one of those graphic lovers who doesn't care for such pointless things such as "gameplay". Yeah, who needs a fun game when it looks good... - Etchii, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5SSB Melee is still played in tournaments all over the place.... button mashing will never get you into one of them.
Proper attack choice, timing, and knowledge of your character as well as the enemy are crucial to this game.
in short..
It's a fantastic game. - fantasticFlan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Ah, but Konami isn't owned by a direct competitor to Nintendo.
- nav1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Walnuts, peanuts, pineapple smells, grapes, melons, oranges and coconut shells, ah yeah!
- mywhitenoise, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I agree with most of what you said. But KingGoonie, you are the king of Wii fanboys, so I wouldn't go around claiming others as fanboys, or 'teenyboppers'.
But you're right, the dude's an idiot. This has been the most anticipated Nintendo game since the Gamecube era. - RodeoRobot, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7I agree. Sonic would make an awesome addition. Finally plumber vs 'hog.
- Bartboy919, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5No, It just Diddy kong. Get with the times.
- AnteChronos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4"Good luck FINDING a Wii,"
Yeah, it can be tough. However, calling a local game store twice a week usually won't cut it. The sample rate isn't fine-grained enough. Anyone still looking should try this: http://wiitracker.com/
Grab the RSS feed, be alerted as soon as one is in stock in any one of multiple online stores, and jump on the opportunity as soon as possible. I managed to get mine from Sears, which is an option I never even would have considered has I just been looking locally. - indraneel24, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Lanky? He has NO style or grace. His face is funny, and he can stretch and inflate himself. Crazy.
- DagMX, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5conker is a RARE character. Diddy kong is part of the Donkey Kong franchise that is owned by Nintendo.
- cave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I just find it amazing that the real time rendered Diddy Kong looks better than the pre-rendered Diddy Kong back in the SNES days, not just in-game (Obviously) but also in the booklets and promo art. When people say that the Wii's graphics sucks, I just don't get it at all. :S
- Bloc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4facepalm.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Let's get it on like Diddy Kong.
- KingGoonie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3No, hes DK's little buddy, and hes a monkey not a ape.
- yargthepirate, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4As of now, at least 183 people.
- swisstone, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3You're SO grown-up... I bet you drive a Volvo.
- KingGoonie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3And pictures of GTA IV and when 10 reviews of a game are given... how is a new character that has never been in the series before news? I swear MOST of the Nintendo stuff that makes it to the main page is news... can't say the same about the other systems.
Honestly, look at the top story now... what bands are going to be featured in Rockband... honestly is that really different? Rockband is a music game... and all that is diong is telling you what music is in it. Smash bros is a fighter game... and this tells you a new fighter in it.... damn ps3/360 fanboys and there bias against articles. - CaptainM4d, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2This is my new favorite character. ***** yes
- Akaji, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I miss Rare platformers...
- Okitaz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4No, no I don't.
- cathars1s, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2seconded. I picked up one from my costco last month. They were just lying out there.
btw, bilbravo: they were "limit 1 per customer" and not everyone is a scalper. -
