- Mossman85, on 03/25/2008, -35/+15Wii will Wii will rock you
- mywhitenoise, on 03/25/2008, -21/+7With only 63 songs. It's more like 45, since the entire Bonus tour (13) songs is absolute *****, and there's a fair share of garbage in the main set (Hives, OK Go, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Hole, Fallout Boy). From the looks of it, there isn't any DLC coming either http://kotaku.com/371546/harmonix-no-dlc-for-rock- ...
I'm not sure why anyone would buy the Wii or PS2 versions.- KingGoonie, on 03/25/2008, -2/+11Because they may not have the other systems. The DLC is the main reason I got GH3 on the 360, well that and because my nephew did too so the online play against him... But if they don't have the 360 or PS3, why miss out on a great game? Actually a friend of mine that has a PS3, WII, AND 360 got GH3 for the Wii because he just associated that game with the Wii as far as the everyone from hardcore gamers to nongamers want to play it....
My other friend who has none of sytems got it for PS2... and was suckered into believing that the PS2 version didn't come with a guitar at all, so had to buy the game and a third party guitar if he wanted it. I told her to just return it because thats BS. The third party guitar is horrible... unless thats the PS2 version itself, but I doubt it.- mywhitenoise, on 03/25/2008, -8/+6Was that second paragraph really necessary? Do I really give a ***** about your friend getting a third party guitar?
- code, on 03/25/2008, -3/+7enough to comment, absolutely...don't like the community, don't engage.
- BlueSkyfish, on 03/25/2008, -2/+1Do I really give a ***** about your taste in music?

- PhoenixAvatar2, on 03/25/2008, -4/+19Because I don't own a 360 or a PS3. That's why.
- bagboyrebel, on 03/25/2008, -1/+2so if you don't like the music then why are you buying any version of the games. I'll agree that most of the bonus songs suck, but not all of them, and that's still personal opinion. If nobody liked these songs then they wouldn't have made it into the game.
- mywhitenoise, on 03/25/2008, -6/+1Because there's still 40 good ones in there, along with 30+ good DLC songs, dip *****.

- thecosmicpope, on 03/25/2008, -1/+3No DLC, no character customisation, no online play, no GH3 controller compatibility and a higher price. No sale. I have been waiting for the Rock Band confirmation for the Wii for ages, and when it comes it is so poor that I will not be buying it. I don't care if its the developers or Nintendos fault, I won't buy stripped down products for the same price that people play the full fat version.
- logicalnoise, on 03/25/2008, -1/+3fine don't blame nnintendo but the wii's design is the main reason the game is so parred down.
- Jaydo, on 03/25/2008, -1/+2Bitchin over the GH guitar compatibility? Everything else I completely agree with... But I'm sick of people who are down on the Rock Band guitar because they're use to some clicking piece of *****. The Rock Band guitar strums like a guitar, get friggin use to it, learn to play it with a pick if you have to.
- nicko68, on 03/26/2008, -0/+3I think the issue is how many friggin' guitar controllers do we need? There is no excuse, GHIII can be played with a Wiimote, so the GH guitar controller is simply a shell that remaps existing Wiimote buttons to the frets and strum bar. HMX does not want to spend any time redesigning anything for the Wii, instead choosing to simply use the PS3/PS2 instruments.
This is good if you ever plan on getting a PS3 down the road, but otherwise this is a terrible decision- thecosmicpope, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1Indeed. That is the exact issue. When the next Guitar Hero style point and match game comes out am I expected to buy yet another guitar? Or another drum set? Or will the developers realise that I actually don't want a collection of these plastic fisher price toys and I just want affordable games?

- vondrak, on 03/25/2008, -7/+43no DLC? I shouldn't be surprised, GH3 still doesn't have it. I hope they at least release expansions discs. I'm also afraid they stripped the band/character creation like they did with PS2 version. How bittersweet this release will be.
Oh and nice thumbnail, that's exactly what being in a rock band is all about.- xeres, on 03/25/2008, -0/+4How do I change the thumbnail ? I realized right after I clicked post and now I don't see any option to update.
- heypetray, on 03/25/2008, -1/+9It's alright. Made me laugh.
- vondrak, on 03/25/2008, -0/+6That wasn't a malicious comment about the thumbnail, it's just funny.
- paOol, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1trucha signer. it's already possible to hack the .ISO file on guitar hero 3 and add your own custom songs. so the same should work for rock band. requires a modded wii though
- PunX0r, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1Care to elaborate on this a little more? I would love new songs for GH3 on the wii
- rylin, on 03/25/2008, -0/+0Slight problem there, as IOS37 ( http://wiibrew.org/index.php?title=IOS37 ) was released on the 21st, which will close down the bug used by freeloader and truchasigner as soon as it starts getting used.
There's no doubt in my mind that nintendo will mandate the use of IOS37 for all releases that go into print within a couple of weeks.
- xeres, on 03/25/2008, -0/+4How do I change the thumbnail ? I realized right after I clicked post and now I don't see any option to update.
- Topher06, on 03/25/2008, -10/+57Yeah, these games are a bust without DLC. I still feel that Harmonix/Activision is raping consumers at $1.99 a time, but with timely introduction of new music, particularily from your favourite artists, it will keep the games playable for a long while. Like everything else released on the Wii, this is half-assed.
- tidu, on 03/25/2008, -0/+3I figure, I already got the songs for free somewhere, $2.00 isn't that bad. And it's not like we buy every song, either. $2.00 a week at most (well, save for tomorrow...)
- Jaydo, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1***** YES, BOSTON!!!!!
- tdogg241, on 03/25/2008, -2/+18Part of the fault lies with Nintendo though, since they put very little internal memory in the Wii and because they STILL don't have a decent online network up and running. I'm happy to own a Wii for the sweet first-party games, but more and more I'm thinking about buying a 360 to supplement my gaming needs.

- Tigerbot5, on 03/25/2008, -10/+38I know some Wii owners that won't care about the no DLC, they just want the game...
- Kazbaeden, on 03/25/2008, -1/+10After they play it enough they'll care. While there are a great many songs in RB, the percentage that appeals to any given person is low. DLC serves to allow players to increase the percentage of appealing songs in the set list, which makes the overall gameplay more enjoyable.
- Tigerbot5, on 03/25/2008, -4/+5And yet people played GH2 for months with little to no DLC, and I bet there are still people playing RB with no downloaded songs...Hell, even GH3 has a very limited selection compared to RB and people still play it, too...
Sure, no DLC might make it so eventually it does get old, but honestly, what game doesn't?...- yohnstoppable, on 03/25/2008, -0/+2It isn't just the fact that it doesn't have DLC. It is the fact that the other versions have such amazing DLC. The version for the wii is inferior to versions that are already released on other systems, which is a bad thing.
I do agree it will be successful in spite of this, though. But they will be losing out on tons of money this way, as well as disappointing potential customers. I mean, they've sold 6 MILLION songs. It isn't a stretch to assume they'd sell a ***** more on the wii

- SamIAre, on 03/25/2008, -1/+2I'm excited to be getting it at all, and i don't think I'd have gotten a lot of the DLC, but I'm sure I'd have gotten some of it. Still, something is better than nothing.
- stinger666, on 03/25/2008, -1/+1Most of the good songs for rock band are DLC...What is rock band without And justice for all?
- mooseofshadows, on 03/25/2008, -1/+1yeah, I'll still buy it, but the fact that I might be stuck with a crappy rock band guitar and no band world tour sort of sucks. and character creation is pretty cool too.

- DanielPrimed, on 03/25/2008, -16/+9This is quite sad really, I guess Harmonix had no choice on this one. The Wii hardware simply isn't flexible enough to allow for DLC.
Personally I will buy the PS3 version, even if the Wi version had DLC I would still buy the PS3 version.- carpespasm, on 03/25/2008, -1/+24the hardware is flexible enough, Nintendo's online setup just isn't flexible enough. They really need to overhaul it to allow to have a unified login system and better integration of the shop channel in games.
- mywhitenoise, on 03/25/2008, -15/+4The hardware is NOT flexible enough. That's why you're not getting online mode, or custom characters, or Band Tour, or DLC.
- paulvq, on 03/25/2008, -4/+11Yeah the hardware's not flexible enough for downloadable content. That's why there's a Wii Shop Channel...where you can download content...
- mywhitenoise, on 03/25/2008, -3/+1Name me just ONE game that offers DLC on Wii.
You wiitards are a bunch of ignorant, and stupid optimists. - paulvq, on 03/25/2008, -1/+2I never said that any game offers DLC on the Wii. I'm saying that it's capable of it, but the developers don't want to do something like that.
- mywhitenoise, on 03/25/2008, -3/+1Name me just ONE game that offers DLC on Wii.
- estvir, on 03/25/2008, -2/+1Yeah, have fun with all of the Wii's storage.
- paulvq, on 03/25/2008, -1/+3That's what the SD card slot is for.
- Jaydo, on 03/25/2008, -2/+2Super Smash Bros. Brawl. There's one, do I get a prize?
- mywhitenoise, on 03/25/2008, -1/+2No, because you didn't respond to the right comment.
Also, there isn't any DLC for Smash Bros, there's user created files for stages. - nicko68, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1Yeah, the user created files, or "content", which can be "downloaded'.
- mywhitenoise, on 03/25/2008, -1/+2No, because you didn't respond to the right comment.

- merchantofsoul, on 03/25/2008, -12/+5No online play? I'll stick to Guitar Hero, thanks.
- popolop, on 03/25/2008, -1/+17Great. When's the European version coming out?
- mywhitenoise, on 03/25/2008, -7/+8Seriously, that's what they should have done. Instead of wasting all those guitars, drums, and mics on this crippled P.O.S. they should have released the PS3/360 versions to Europe.
- tidu, on 03/25/2008, -0/+5Alongside the Wii announcement, they announced the European version for Euro's Q1, April-June... And be happy, you're getting a few exclusive songs including Muse :(
- Timmyftw, on 03/25/2008, -0/+4this better be in Australia too. and ***** the exclusive songs how about the ***** game. Yhatzee was right. the game industry hates Australia.
- tidu, on 03/25/2008, -0/+5Alongside the Wii announcement, they announced the European version for Euro's Q1, April-June... And be happy, you're getting a few exclusive songs including Muse :(

- PhoenixAvatar2, on 03/25/2008, -4/+22I've been really excited about this coming out on the Wii, but there's no way I'm going to buy this if I can't use the GH3 Guitar Controller.
I was willing to shell out an extra $40 for GH3 because I knew that later games wouldn't require me to buy a new Guitar Controller for every one. But if I have to shell out another $40 on top of the $50 for the competition's game or, God forbid, $110 for a new guitar and a drum set and mic that I'm barely going to use? I'll wait for GH4 and slog my way through bad conversions with Frets on Fire.- stinger666, on 03/25/2008, -0/+3I was a guitar hero fan but once I bought rock band I never touched my guitar again. It's all about drums now.
- Jaydo, on 03/25/2008, -1/+1If you can't manage to convert to the Rock Band guitar, you weren't ever good at Guitar Hero to begin with. Just deal with it.
- BlueSkyfish, on 03/25/2008, -12/+46A huge delay, no DLC, and no online play. ***** you, Harmonix.
I'll stick with GH3, which I got back in November and can play online with it.- Rileyper, on 03/25/2008, -8/+5harmonix probably wanted it til Nintendo showed them the bill to have dlc
- bagboyrebel, on 03/25/2008, -4/+13I don't think this was harmonix's fault.
- Typhoon2009, on 03/25/2008, -1/+4Agreed. The Wii would be a major market for Rock Band, I doubt they intentionally made it take this long.
- techlinks, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1The Xbox Pro is $80 CAD more than the Wii at Futureshop. I bought a Wii on launch day, and I love my Zelda, Mario, and I'm sure I'll love Brawl. But I've been so disappointed lately. Maybe I just haven't been paying enough attention to the video game scene, but it seems like nothing great is coming out for the WIi.
Should I get a 360? - Unzorn, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1Don't forget 'no compatiability to GH3 guitar'
- ConquistadorFor, on 03/25/2008, -10/+3GH3 pwns wtf
and no real fun compared to GH3 if its not interactive in reallife- Rileyper, on 03/25/2008, -3/+1D.F.T.T.

what? - doshindude, on 03/25/2008, -1/+5Rock Band>>>>>>>>GH3.
GH3 is only better if you have no friends.
- Wootstapler, on 03/25/2008, -1/+7That's cool and all but what's with the random Rainbow Six like Thumbnail?
- robopuppy, on 03/25/2008, -4/+35Lame. Release a half-assed version for Wii but for the same price? No thanks.
- LoveWidescreen, on 03/25/2008, -6/+17I *almost* said "It's about time", but after I read that article and saw how much they're screwing over Wii users, it now looks more like "Not worth my time". Seriously now, even GH3 has on-line capabilities.
Yet another pathetic, rushed-to-market port. F**k you, Harmonix.- Tigerbot5, on 03/25/2008, -6/+7Please explain to me how no DLC is Harmonix's problem...I think it's very obvious that Nintendo is the one lacking there...And honestly, I bet a large amount of people have never bought any DLC for RB in their life, so I'm sure people will still enjoy this on the Wii...
- LoveWidescreen, on 03/25/2008, -3/+1That's not *completely* correct. They should be able to enable something that would synchronize your account on your Wii with their web site, and you buy your DLC through the web site. When you play the game, it can then go out, check the web site, determine if you purchased DLC, and then download it to an SD card or something like that.
Keep in mind that if you link an account on guitarhero.com with your profile on the Wii, the game will upload your stats when you play, and it will download various statistics on demand. So, clearly the games do have the ability to both upload and download with a game developer's network. If they created something like this, then stored the DLC (watermarked in some way) to an SD card, you wouldn't see anyone complaining about it.
Yes, it would be a lot nicer to integrate it via Wii Points, but given the choice between no DLC at all via Wii Points or DLC via a web site purchase that's linked to my Wii, I'll take the "inconvenience" of a web site purchase any day, and I think most potential RB customers would, too.

- tdwtomcat, on 03/25/2008, -1/+12Not worth it. This sucks.
- weirdwes, on 03/25/2008, -5/+67I still think they should use the WiiMote to give the Wii version a 4th instrument.
More Cowbell.- SpectreFire, on 03/25/2008, -1/+6Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription.. is more cowbell!
- mywhitenoise, on 03/25/2008, -4/+13I love how people always say that tired "more cowbell" phrase, even though THERE IS COWBELL in Rock Band. You use the mic.
- stinger666, on 03/25/2008, -0/+4I don't know why people are digging you down. It's true.
- G-RaZoR, on 03/25/2008, -1/+2You could always buy Cowbell Hero as seen in this youtube clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlqLLZQLNiA

- dwatten, on 03/25/2008, -10/+3brawl, soon mario cart and now rock band, wii is taking over the gaming platform. cant wait
- Diderotten, on 03/25/2008, -4/+4I love brawl as much as the next guy who waited 3 hours in line to get it at it's midnight(1 am: daylight savings)launch, but The Wii can't possibly overtake the console market with as little 3rd party exclusives as they have. Even the ps3 has beat it out in my opinion. Plus, for a lot of games(cooking mama), the wii comes out very gimmicky.
- aboyd, on 03/25/2008, -0/+3how can the Wii not take over the console market? Isn't it #1 already? That sounds like a takeover to me. Maybe you mean it won't remain in the #1 position?
- ahawks, on 03/25/2008, -1/+2You know what's funny...
You just listed two first-party titles, which have always been strong for Nintendo, and ONE 3rd party title, which all the other systems already have, and all have online play and downloadable content--EXCEPT the wii version.
That spells failure.

- thedogfatherx, on 03/25/2008, -4/+9Good for Wii. I don't own one but i'm forever a Nintendo fan. I believe they have been the most innovative gaming system company ever. Sad that game developers keep screwing over Wii/Nintendo fans.
- Bots, on 03/25/2008, -1/+4except the fact that it's their own system that has prohibited the functionality of games not necessarily game developers.
- bretto, on 03/25/2008, -3/+26No DLC. No online. Can't use GH3 guitar. Basically everything good about the 360 version is gone. No thanks.
- LoveWidescreen, on 03/25/2008, -1/+15Let's be fair. Blame Activision for not allowing the GH3 guitar to be integrated. It's their guitar. Harmonix has tried to negotiate with Activision, but they apparently don't want anything to do with it.
No DLC? They could have done it without having to go through Wii Points, I'm sure. Like linking your Wii with a web account, buying through the web site, then downloading the DLC to an SD card the next time you fired up the game.
No online? No excuse at all when Guitar Hero can do it.- thefunneverends, on 03/25/2008, -1/+3It's just speculation that the GH3 won't work because Harmonix said that each instrument will be stand alone. The GH3 Wii guitar requires you to plug in the Wiimote to use. It's possible to use the GH3 guitar with Rock Band but not possible to use the Rock Band guitar in GH3.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1GlovePie can pick up the GH3 controller inputs just fine. It's all about the specific signal sent along the bluetooth and Activision didn't lock it down. It's up to Harmonix whether they want to use the Activision guitar or not. If they don't... no sale.
- dutchdude15, on 03/25/2008, -1/+4You seem to be forgetting the addition of lasers and fully automatic weapons.
- LoveWidescreen, on 03/25/2008, -1/+15Let's be fair. Blame Activision for not allowing the GH3 guitar to be integrated. It's their guitar. Harmonix has tried to negotiate with Activision, but they apparently don't want anything to do with it.
- usingpond, on 03/25/2008, -1/+5Awesome picture in the description.
- SpectreFire, on 03/25/2008, -0/+2Yeah, loved that part of the game with all the guns, and smoke and explosions.
- laterallateral, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1I think that's the cut scene where if you suck too hard at playing Teen Spirit, the swat team comes in and smokes your failing ass, clean off the stage...
- SpectreFire, on 03/25/2008, -0/+2Yeah, loved that part of the game with all the guns, and smoke and explosions.
- phazon88, on 03/25/2008, -6/+4Looks like you'll be able to shoot stuff in this version eat that 360 & PS3.
- doshindude, on 03/25/2008, -1/+4Now I don't feel guilty for tanking early and buying the 360 version....the Wii version isn't even cheaper than the 360 version and it's totally gimped......No DLC, no custom characters.....No exclusive features (the "exclusive songs" will be on as DLC the day it comes out).
- Craftybadger, on 03/25/2008, -0/+6I'm still hurting from the fact that it still isn't out over here in the UK. Has there even been a bloody release date announced yet?
- theAlice, on 03/25/2008, -12/+1The first video of gameplay just got leaked: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2JJ6EM2fLk
- muzocan, on 03/25/2008, -0/+4Crap!
- CapeKid, on 03/25/2008, -4/+2I don't really understand why people want this game for the Wii anyway. If you are willing to shell out $170+ for the game, why not buy a PS3/360 as well. I mean, both systems now have enough games and are at the right price that it is time to buy. I mean, even the PS2 version is better because you could take those instruments with you when you upgrade to the PS3.
- ejhdigdug, on 03/25/2008, -0/+6Last I saw PS3/360 cost more then $170 and you have to buy the $170 game on top of that.
- saska, on 03/25/2008, -1/+1The best I can do for a 360 is $199 for a hard-drive-less used 360 and a deal on the 100GB hard drive through the company store. Still ~$325 for the console, plus $180 for the game.
This vs. the fact that I bought the Wii on launch day and I've used it every day since, I don't own an HD-TV (I only use my TV for gaming), and I could use that $325 for something else. It ***** me off. I held out for this and I wouldn't get what I deserve for the price of the game. - BobWoodshed, on 03/25/2008, -1/+1Because $150 (best on Amazon) + $400 for a PS3 (Microsoft can shove it) is $550. Now I'm no meteorologist, but $550 is at least twice as much as $170.
- Agrabah, on 03/25/2008, -6/+18Is anybody else really disappointed with their Wii?
I mean, the Wii is like the Europe of all the main systems. X-Box and PS get quality titles first, then the result is analyzed by Nintendo months later and turned into the same game. I can't count how many good Wii titles there are on both hands. And also, GIVE ME A MEANINGFUL ONLINE EXPERIENCE.- B1663r, on 03/25/2008, -9/+2Get ready to get dug down for insufficient adulation.
- riskybeats, on 03/25/2008, -1/+1There go eight syllables I hope I never hear in consequent formation again.

- ahawks, on 03/25/2008, -0/+13***** this.
Not compatible with the GH3 guitar.
No downloadable content.
No online play.
How is this ANY better than the PS2 version?
I love my Wii, but ***** like this will kill it. I don't know if it's Nintendo or the 3rd parties involved, or a combination, but there is absolutely no reason to buy the Wii version of this game.- nightmare1228, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1To be fair, you can't just blame harmonix for the gh3 guitar not working. Activision is just as much to blame. On the 360 it is the opposite, I can't use my rock band guitar on gh3.
- nicko68, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1But you can play GHIII on the Wii with the Wiimote, which makes me think that the GHIII guitar shell simply remaps Wiimote buttons to the fret buttons and strum bar. There's no reason why HMX couldn't do the same.
Nyko is coming out with GHIII guitars (which, of course, use the Wiimote) so I'm sure it's not a patent issue.
It's because HMX wants to reuse the PS2/PS3 controllers, and Activision is a great scapegoat these days.

- Rodalli, on 03/25/2008, -0/+3"How is this ANY better than the PS2 version?"
It's not. I would have lubed up months ago, back when I decided to wait on Wii Rock Band instead of buying the PS2 version, if I had known the Wii version was going to be just as *****. Thanks for inserting this giant dick into my ass, Harmonix. *super-enthusiastic thumbs up*

- ejhdigdug, on 03/25/2008, -5/+1They will offer down loadable content, just not with the release:
Regarding downloadable content: During Rock Band for the Wii development Harmonix focused on making the core gameplay experience as solid and enjoyable as possible while tailoring it specifically to the strengths of the platform. The Wii version still contains the robust four-player band experience and all the fun at the core of other versions of Rock Band. However, because the Wii's online capabilities and potential have yet to be fully realized, we wanted to wait before we explored online functionality for Rock Band to ensure that players get the high-quality of online performance they've come to expect.- PhoenixAvatar2, on 03/25/2008, -0/+3That sounds like they're talking about Rock Band 2, not some patch for the game.
In any case... Source?- ejhdigdug, on 03/25/2008, -1/+1They said there will be no Rock Band 2, they'll just continue to offer new songs on line. At leas that was for the X-Box version. They make so much money on this I can't imagine that they'd remove it for the Wii

- j4nj1m3n3z, on 03/25/2008, -1/+1Harmonix and MTV are really blowing this one. DLC and online play would have sole a whole lot more copies.
- stinger666, on 03/25/2008, -2/+1Remember that the Wii is the console for casual gamers. Most people who buy it won't even want to play online.
- nicko68, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1Rock Band / Guitar Hero are prime examples of casual games.

- rkthoadan, on 03/25/2008, -0/+3They are seriously shooting themselves in the foot with this. I've got a Wii but I may consider e-baying it to trade it in for an XBox or PS3 if that's what it takes to get a decent version of Rock Band. The Wii is doing awesome right now, but lack of storage and online play are huge weak spots and MS and Sony are smart enough to see them and target them with a vengeance. If they do it correctly, and Nintendo doesn't address these weaknesses, I think it may lose the lead it has established so far.
- yohnstoppable, on 03/25/2008, -0/+4no downloadable content = not buying.
- Spoomeister, on 03/25/2008, -2/+3Rock Band is doing very well on the 360. I hear it's also played on the PS3 (...by like, 14 people. I keed, I keed...).
If Wii owners are the target, how many Wii owners, who don't also have a 360, wanted this? And if multi-platform gamers are the market, what moron is going to not only get GH3 (with the guitar that works with that and other rhythm games), and RB for 360 (with the guitar that doesn't work with GH3), but also RB for the Wii (which means another mic, guitar and drum kit cluttering up the game room)?
Oh, and if it is for people with more than one platform, are people seriously going to buy music twice over for multiple platforms? Or worse yet, music only licensed for one version but not another?
Where exactly was the demand for this? - dagoonmaster, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1it just seems awesome ...i feel as though something horrible will happen that will mar this game on the wii... >_>
- completerobot, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1Did you even read the article?
- SubDJ, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1Guys...can't we agree that adding all of the current DLC into the Wii edition, making it totally not 'half assed'? This saves you money compared to downloading on the other consoles.
As for playing online, I won't be surprised if it's exactly like the PS2 version, which I've played the most with my friend, having a blast. New songs and cool avatars are icing on the cake, but having a sweet tooth sure makes some people cry like little kids about not getting candy...
I just wanna rock. - GrouchoMarx42, on 03/25/2008, -2/+1I dunno why the ***** people are so annoyed at this. I'm just glad this game's finally coming to the Wii. With wireless controllers, to boot.
- completerobot, on 03/25/2008, -0/+3Maybe because a huge chunk of important functionality is missing? Wii owners will be stuck spending upwards of $100 for a version of the game with no online play or DLC. And the lack of DLC may be understandable, given the system's limitations, but even GH3 had online play. There's no excuse for that.
- GrouchoMarx42, on 03/25/2008, -1/+1You know, while I like DLC... I just don't feel like online's really that big of a deal. I mean, the fun of Rock Band, and of the Wii in general, is having a bunch of people around making fools of themselves while waggling a little white stick. Give me a reason why online play is absolutely necessary, and is a better alternative to actually inviting friends over to rock out.

- insanebrain, on 03/25/2008, -1/+1nooooooooooooooooo . .o. o. o. !!!
- Jumangi, on 03/25/2008, -1/+2No online play...no DLC...Yea the Wii version is defiantly the one to get.
- jsin1276, on 03/25/2008, -1/+2This was expected as the Wii isn't geared toward excellent online gameplay and dlc. Though it is good that Wii owners will be able to experience this excellent game.
- Kregg17, on 03/25/2008, -2/+3No DLC?
I don't wanna pay for songs anyways.
No online play?
I don't wanna play ONLINE with people. Its a party game (SOCIAL). I don't think I will ever WANT to play by myself.
I'm sold on the idea. I'm not willing to blow hundreds of dollars on the game and a new system to play it. - prattstick, on 03/25/2008, -2/+2This is the best gaming new I've heard in a while! No DLC isn't really a big deal for me, I'd be content with just the percussions
- zachberry, on 03/25/2008, -0/+3If anything, this might boost 360 sales.
- Archaic1, on 03/25/2008, -0/+5Wow, that's really slack... Way to completely gut the best parts of the title :S
I agree with comment at the bottom, might as well just go out and buy the PS2 version today... - homercles337, on 03/25/2008, -2/+1I dont care about the Wy and i never will. I also dont care why people think "wii" is pronounced "wee." Its not if you know *anything* about phonetics.
- dcshiderly, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1Nintendo's using the Japanese pronounciation, totally appropriate given it's a Japanese company.
Get off your high horse; you appear ignorant and boorish.

- kiwimonk, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1yay ! mono rockband! You only need one drumstick to play :)
- adammharvey, on 03/25/2008, -0/+2and Wii owners get the shaft on this one
- picto, on 03/25/2008, -2/+1The title "Rock Band Wii coming in June 2008" made me laugh. I wonder if Rock Band groupies could work on an earlier "release"...haha
- ramshaw, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1The 360 and PS3 versions aren't even out in Europe yet how about they concentrate on that...
- Dush, on 03/25/2008, -0/+0Maybe they'll do a "Best of DLC" (read: most sales) compliation disc for PS2 and Wii someday.
- jeff1to1618, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1the only way I buy another guitar game is if I can download songs (unless its beatles). I hope its not futile waiting for dlc for gh3
- Slayerdude51982, on 03/25/2008, -0/+4I was waiting for the Wii version once it was rumored, figured ohh I might be able to get DLC or play online (cause at the moment I don't have a 360 or a PS3), but this blows. What's with the Wii getting half assed ports? (Smackdown vs Raw 08 anyone?) I can't believe that Harmonix is gonna skimp on DLC and Online for the wii version. Unless they are gonna give half assed expansion packs later on (Guitar Hero Encore) then maybe, but I bet you the main reason why they decided to say hell with DLC, memory storage. If nintendo would just release an external HD or something that you could plug into your USB port, why would Nintendo put something on a system that isn't used? Oh wait. They already did that, it was the ethernet port on the GC.
