- inactive, on 12/15/2007, -0/+61lol @ proof and may in the same sentence.
- Sk8SkaNJ, on 12/15/2007, -8/+52Personally I'd rather have it not have voice chat so I don't have to listen to retards screaming over the mic an entire game.
- inactive, on 12/15/2007, -16/+55The only "proof" is that it proves Nintendo is still just considering voice chat.
Meanwhile SSBB will only have goofy canned responses like "Right back at ya". WHEN WILL NINTENDO GET A CLUE?!?! - freetyme, on 12/15/2007, -2/+30If there is voice chat, even if its only with friends, on Brawl I think it will be the greatest game in my lifetime. I'll deal with horribly-awful, painfully time consuming friends codes as long as I can have voice chat with my friends. Besides, that way if I really want to play against some random person I'll get on any internet forum, or mapwii, or what have you and exchange codes with someone.
What would be better though is if Nintendo just had one friend code per system. Wouldn't that be so much easier? "Safer" than gamertags, and easier than individual friend codes. - chugger1992, on 12/15/2007, -1/+22why would anyone have their save name be fart, vagina, or foreskin anyways?
- mpn401, on 12/15/2007, -1/+17Yay, now I can listen to 12 year olds call me a fag while I'm playing.
- Wrathernaut, on 12/15/2007, -0/+12What's amazing is that you can have proof of a definite maybe.
- MasterFunk, on 12/15/2007, -1/+11Oh so the same as like me saying, "There is now proof that I may become the Lizard King."
- yutt, on 12/15/2007, -0/+9Yeah, Microsoft is really pioneering allowing 14 year olds to call anonymous people ***** while gaming.
Note: I own a 360, and not a Wii. - skywake, on 12/15/2007, -0/+9Because of the "social aspect" of the Wii the likelihood of multiple online accounts per console is high so I don't like the idea of having only one online account per console. When it comes to voice chat there is one game that people haven't taken into account here yet... Mario Kart Wii. We have heard almost nothing about it and Nintendo is being very secretive. If Nintendo is planning something big its going to be with Mario Kart and not Brawl.
- ProAm, on 12/15/2007, -1/+9PROOF Nintendo MAY get voice chat. >_>?
- njection, on 12/15/2007, -2/+10Just think of the spin Chris Hanson could put on this.
- Muffinthief, on 12/15/2007, -1/+8He also said that Brawl would be out on December 3rd...
- DuffyDirect, on 12/15/2007, -3/+10voice chat does *nothing* to enhance gameplay experience, NO ONE talks in halo 3 games, and if they do its usually whining and moaning or just talking about everyday stuff because theyre bored
- thatcrazycommie, on 12/15/2007, -1/+7I wish they would let us register usernames with our Wii codes before worrying about that. Seriously, how much work could it possibly take on their end? Just come up with a catchy name ("Wiidentity," maybe?), and ***** let people associate a name and password with their codes. It would make the online so much better.
- inactive, on 12/15/2007, -1/+7If they just set up Mario Kart so that when you're playing online, all the other characters just spew a random, unending stream of obscenities, you'd never know the difference.
- sam10685, on 12/15/2007, -4/+9What good is voice chat if you're unable to speak?
- mRIpX, on 12/15/2007, -1/+6proof that i might bury this
- willfe, on 12/15/2007, -1/+6How does turning off my microphone stop me hearing the other fools' microphones? :)
- inactive, on 12/15/2007, -4/+8voice chat would be amazing. also, there would be less trash-talk from noobs who think their master chief's bastard children.
- harvardlaw, on 12/15/2007, -0/+4Considering the fact that they already have voice chat for the DS, I don't see why people didn't see this possibility.
- Carnage83, on 12/15/2007, -0/+4Cause maybee ur the fool in question :)
- Shaflugi, on 12/15/2007, -0/+4That's exactly what I've been trying to figure out. What exactly do 16 digit friend codes do to protect children? It makes it significantly more annoying to add friends, that's it. People still continue to share their friend codes online with people they don't know.
- BillMoocho, on 12/15/2007, -2/+6The wii already has online gameplay, idiot.
It's also geared more towards people who actually have friends to invite over and play games with. - inactive, on 12/15/2007, -0/+3Huh? I thought people *paid* for Xbox Live so they could hurl and receive racist/sexist/homophobe comments at each other. Personally I don't like it, and fortunately the PS3 community is a little more reserved in this category.
- Dgen_X, on 12/15/2007, -0/+3OBJECTION!
- counterplex, on 12/15/2007, -0/+3Wow I thought for sure the Matrix reference wouldn't go unrecognized. Dugg up
- inactive, on 12/15/2007, -1/+4Proof that it MAY get something? This is Diggable news now?
- AmazingAndrex, on 12/15/2007, -1/+4You haven't played a Nintendo Wi-Fi game since after March 2006, I see. (See: Rivals List, Metroid Prime Hunters)
- ThndrShk2k, on 12/15/2007, -0/+3You obviously haven't played Phoenix Wright.
- Bamborzled, on 12/15/2007, -0/+3Yeah, I agree. I mean, Mario Strikers Charged would have been a thousand times better with online play! And Brawl and Mario Kart, I can't BELIEVE they didn't put mul--wait a second...
- mywhitenoise, on 12/15/2007, -6/+9I just don't get it. Why do Wii's need system friend codes, as well as game codes? If there's no voice chat, then what does Nintendo have to worry about? Not only that, but there's parental settings and wi-fi disabling. It really amazes me how uptight they are. I tried Mario and Sonic at the Olympics last weekend you can't even use 'fart', 'vagina', or even 'foreskin' for your save name.
It just doesn't make any sense to me why they choose numbers over screen names. On the PS3 (and I assume 360 as well) you invite someone by the screenname they gave you, and if they choose to accept you then you can send and receive messages from them. So what the hell is the point of friend codes if it's based on the same princible? - Andero, on 12/15/2007, -0/+3The messages in Brawl are user-input, not pre-canned messages
- inactive, on 12/15/2007, -0/+3You wanted to BLANK his BLANK while his BLANKmote was up his BLANK.
- dwninjungleland, on 12/15/2007, -1/+4"Proof" that they "May"?
Nice title. - Hazardc, on 12/15/2007, -0/+2well for the rest of us that like to communicate with our team and not just run around like clueless retards, we'll take the voice chat. thank you
if you just want to run around shooting random *****. you dont have to turn the voice on - dinostabOMG, on 12/15/2007, -0/+2Good luck, then, not buying any Wiis.
- inactive, on 12/15/2007, -10/+12You shouldn't have to sacrifice voice chat freedom to only be allowed to chat with your friends, it's *****. Nintendo needs to quit playing the kiddy card, that's what killed them in the past.
- hufferstl, on 12/15/2007, -0/+2We still don't know if messages are typed out from an alphabet or from existing words. I wouldn't be suprised if nintendo doesn't let you type curse words in those messages.
- linuxrocks2007, on 12/15/2007, -0/+2Actually, I'd say that's a good example.
- jakeamoore, on 12/15/2007, -0/+2Everyone loves to bitch about the online capabilities of the wii, aside from the friend code controversy, it works perfectly. Someone pointed out MOH:H2, 32 player online, it's good fun, little lag, etc... I would enjoy voice chat, but I'm not going to bitch about ***** online because there's no voice chat.
Also; the Wii has been out for one year, they are one year into online play. When the 360 came out, they had already been working on online gaming for about 3 years.
Besides do I really want some ***** 12 year old telling me how he pwned me on SSBB? I'm content to limp away to my own shame corner without having salt rubbed in the wounds. - kevro, on 12/16/2007, -0/+2mature as in 80?
- harpwn, on 12/15/2007, -0/+2The plaintiff is never found guilty, the defendant is. Law may not be your thing
- inactive, on 12/15/2007, -0/+2CoD4 on PS3 has retards screaming? I've played it for a week solid, at least 2 hours a day online with lots of different people, and have yet to hear any screaming retards. I do hear retards whose TVs are too loud and echo badly into their mics, but that's about it. Maybe you're playing at 2pm or something.
- Carnage83, on 12/15/2007, -0/+1Voice is needed in many game's, for tactic's and over all fun and I dont know how wii customer's allow this poor online support of a new gen console. Im glad im a pc gamer :)
- dinostabOMG, on 12/15/2007, -0/+1I'd rather be able to play when I want than have to deal with idiots with mics. Question, though: can you just turn the feature off and not receive voice chat?
- TheBigSquid, on 12/15/2007, -0/+1Somehow pedobear would agree with your comment.
- OpZingmao, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1Voice chat I'll live either way. Frankly I would like to keep it friend-coded, it's not hard for me to communicate some codes to my friends for the ability to talk to each other, and only them online. After all I feel like talking to whailing ***** all night while I'm playing a favorite game of mine. As long as a feature is a implemented to allow you to enable/disable voice chat at will I think I will be ok with it.
- DatVillain83, on 12/15/2007, -0/+1I am I the only person who doesn't believe a word of this at all? Of course 'anything' is possible!
- mywhitenoise, on 12/15/2007, -1/+2I just did it out of curiosity, actually it was my 25 year old brother-in-law that tested it out.
