- jrm125, on 10/12/2009, -1/+26Blowing in it should turn it on.
*that's what she said* - AngryDeuce, on 10/12/2009, -2/+26DO WANT!
- faatbuddha, on 10/12/2009, -0/+19Oh, the ergonomics!
- badqat, on 10/11/2009, -3/+22Very cool mod. Nintendo ought to sell something like that.
- scottrothman, on 10/12/2009, -0/+15Why is the music so fast?
- Smokeydabear, on 10/12/2009, -0/+13Actually if you read the post you'd have seen he can play dozens of NES games.
- Jektal, on 10/12/2009, -0/+12With 4GB of storage he can play hundreds or thousands of NES games. And Gameboy games.
- overridemymind, on 10/12/2009, -0/+12Pimp my fail.
- kjones555, on 10/12/2009, -0/+11A portable way of playing nintendo games on the go? That'll never sell!
- ManUnitdFan, on 10/12/2009, -0/+11Come on Engadget, don't tell me it's for sale and then not provide any information on how much it costs or where to buy one. That's just cruel.
- ifruit, on 10/12/2009, -2/+12ever heard of gameboy?
- SigmaEcho, on 10/12/2009, -0/+10Because he was playing the European version of Super Mario, through emulation software that is clearly set to play NTSC (The North American TV standard) games. That's what the "[E]" at the end of the filename means, the European standard, PAL, is 25 fps, vs 30 fps in the US. If you notice, the copy of Tetris he then plays is the American version "[U]" and plays at the normal speed.
- Jmorris5ten, on 10/12/2009, -0/+9I think the screen should have been positioned where the sticker is.
- tm13lke, on 10/12/2009, -0/+9These are the times that I wish I wasn't a moron, so I could make something like this on my own.
- toeMas, on 10/12/2009, -0/+8I'll never have to blow into the bottom of an NES cartridge again
- BMWM5er, on 10/12/2009, -0/+8You're supposed to hold B to make Mario run.
- overridemymind, on 10/12/2009, -1/+9Actually, that's how you turn it on.
j/k - theOster, on 10/12/2009, -0/+7anyone else really bothered by how slow he was going through 1-1?
- tcsucks, on 10/12/2009, -2/+9Sort of want.
- Bologner, on 10/12/2009, -1/+7Ever heard of deleting duplicate comments?
- mogdor, on 10/12/2009, -1/+7Do you know the difference between this and a gameboy?
- jnuffnuffnomnom, on 10/12/2009, -0/+6ever heard of being funny?
- TinyE500, on 10/12/2009, -0/+6Seriously, someone needs to tell him to hold B while he runs.
- indubitably, on 10/12/2009, -0/+4WTFV
- neoq36, on 10/12/2009, -0/+4That cartridge just brought back so many memories and fun times
- mabba18, on 10/12/2009, -0/+4It's awesome, but it would be even better if it looked like a plain cart from the front, with screen and controls on the back.
It would be totally perfect if everything was recessed, and it still work in a NES as a cart. - mattcoady, on 10/13/2009, -0/+3Most people don't go further than the first page and if the source makes money from advertising or selling merchandise, that is now lost to engadget.
- grantmoore3d, on 10/12/2009, -0/+2As cool as this is, I can't help but shed a tear at the loss of precious NES controllers / cartridges.
- ShingoEX, on 10/12/2009, -0/+2I hope Nintendo doesn't go ***** over this thing. They can legally make the device to run like a NES and such, but Nintendo isn't exactly happy about the whole "rom" idea.
- StarmanDXE, on 10/12/2009, -1/+3How do I buy that NOW?!?!?1?!
And what's inside it? A GP32? - johnwayne1, on 10/12/2009, -2/+4Want
- iDoraemon, on 10/12/2009, -1/+3Mad props to showing screenshot of StarTropics. Most underrated NES game...ever.
- iheartbakon, on 10/12/2009, -0/+2RTFA
- TBBucs, on 10/12/2009, -2/+4Ah, *****.
- FaceFuker, on 10/12/2009, -0/+1hes rubbish at tetris
- mogdor, on 10/12/2009, -0/+1Shame shame, you give internet marketers a bad name.
Hey, that rhymed. - LowROI, on 10/12/2009, -0/+1i remember needing some type of password for that game, but you had to have the manual or something to decode it. I think I ended up getting the password after going through all the permutations until I got it, but I still hated that.
- TotalHalibut, on 10/13/2009, -0/+1I'd rather other sites not take the credit for my work, especially Engadget.
- overridemymind, on 10/12/2009, -0/+1I hope your penis explodes and thousands of tiny spiders run out, climb up your chest and bite your eyes. After that, your tongue and lymph-nodes swell up (your eyes are done by this point) and the doctors have to stick dozens of long needles into them to save your life.
In other words, take your spam sites, and shove them up your ass.
Have a nice day. - Hrodrik, on 10/12/2009, -1/+2Er... oops.
- rumbl3r, on 10/21/2009, -0/+1Americans can see more frames per second than Europeans. This can be proven by math and science.
- captZEEbo, on 10/25/2009, -0/+1I'd prefer a DS with a flashcart
- bcassner, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1Very nice mod, other than the audio being a bit distorted very awesome mod.
- Bender1001, on 10/13/2009, -0/+1Clarification before I make dumb posts earns you a thumbs up ;-)
- heartless_, on 10/13/2009, -0/+1Sorry, but engadget did no such thing. They properly credited the story and linked outwards. It is far from blogspam or anyone taking credit for anyone else's work.
- robwhite1979, on 10/12/2009, -0/+1Awesome title.
- Halsfield, on 10/13/2009, -0/+1I thought this was an nes system that had somehow been frankensteined into a catridge to fit inside another nes. Title should read something like "NES catridge modded into portable NES"
Also, what was with the music being sped up in the video ? - Hrodrik, on 10/12/2009, -2/+2This is a war between the industry middlemen and the artists+consumers.
