- Gundabad, on 01/17/2008, -3/+81Alright I'm just gonna lay this out there... I'm a huge Nintendo dork, but I personally didn't even come close to crappin' my pants over any title on this list. Pokémon Mystery Dungeons? Crosswords? Super Dodgeball?
While these all might be good games, the article is waaaaay too excited - EvanVolm, on 01/17/2008, -1/+35Where the hell is Elite Beat Agents 2?
- DeviantDragon, on 01/17/2008, -1/+27Let's Ride: Friends Forever from THQ is going to be GOTY.
- greenblob, on 01/17/2008, -5/+27Shovelware will yet again drown out quality games.
- johnhummel, on 01/17/2008, -1/+18Yeah! That *totally* killed the PS2 - because nobody bought quality games when they could buy "Ephemeral Fantasia". Hits like Final Fantasy and Devil May Cry were *totally* ignored under the shovelware.
Or, perhaps as history has shown, more games released on a console == more sales, even shovelware, and lots of shovelware == higher chance of "break out hit" (a la Katamari), etc. - SpectralSounds, on 01/17/2008, -0/+17R4DS
- TiMMY8765, on 01/17/2008, -0/+17you can do that with the ds if you get one of those micro sd adapters
- themastersb, on 01/17/2008, -4/+18PSP has some positive sides. For example: Not having to buy games and just downloading them for free is a big selling point.
- danielrh9, on 01/17/2008, -1/+15Sorry, but I have to say it. Nintendo has been a cockteasing bitch as of late.
They've dangled two Brawl release dates in front of us that were both pulled within a months time of the planned release. They've yet to give a firm release date for Mario Kart. They've yet to give us a date for Wii Ware. They've yet to give us a firm release date for the U.S. version of Wii Fit. They've promised us Wii to DS demos, and have even gone as far as to give it to Japan, and have yet to give other territories the privilege of a date.
I've really had enough of their ***** as of late to be honest. - zulfy26, on 01/17/2008, -1/+14The DS has the same "feature".
- Renton, on 01/17/2008, -0/+11The core games are great, but the spinoffs are mostly *****.
- DeviantDragon, on 01/17/2008, -1/+12Hell yeah, Super Dodgeball:
http://www.dsfanboy.com/2008/01/15/super-dodgeball ... - addrake, on 01/17/2008, -1/+12"Huge Nintendo dorks" do not question the raw awesomeness of super dodgeball. BEST SPORTS GAME ON NES NOT MADE BY TECMO!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Dodge_Ball - turrican, on 01/17/2008, -1/+12Prepare my wallet? That's not where I keep my R4..
- airwalkery2k, on 01/17/2008, -0/+10I wholeheartedly agree. Until then, I recommend importing the Japanese original that spawned the game, "Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan" or its sequal "Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2". If you can stand Japanese music, that is.
- Harbinger67, on 01/17/2008, -0/+10One has two chicks, and in the other you're just married to one girl.
- tidu, on 01/17/2008, -1/+9Where is Pokemon Snap 2?
- mds40, on 01/17/2008, -0/+8what's the difference between "Aquarium" and "Fantasy Aquarium"?
- habbofresh, on 01/17/2008, -1/+9no *****." Wii would like to play."
well, "II would like to play too" - phazon88, on 01/17/2008, -1/+9OMG "Bratz: Super Babyz" I just creamed my pants.
- hadak, on 01/17/2008, -0/+7Myst is exciting. I haven't played through that game in over a decade.
- crazyhorse13, on 01/17/2008, -1/+8glad I got a ds for christmas
- inactive, on 01/17/2008, -1/+7Dude, Rare's owned by Microsoft now. They didn't "go" to them. I think we all wish that Rare went back to the big N, but that will never happen, sadly.
Besides, since they went over to microsoft, they've taken classics like perfect dark and conker, and made ***** remakes. - nabhanc, on 01/17/2008, -0/+6I'm excited for Bangai-O and Super Dodgeball.
- nukemunky, on 01/17/2008, -0/+6Right...The stock 32MB memory card is just the right capacity to hold a good ammount PSP isos. /sarcasm
- kcdstudios, on 01/17/2008, -0/+5civilization will cue my departure from reality
- brufleth, on 01/17/2008, -0/+5You must be too young to remember Super Dodge Ball on the NES.
- cambrown99, on 01/17/2008, -1/+6Smash Bros. Brawl should tide me over for oh... the next 18 months or so
- EtherGnat, on 01/17/2008, -1/+6Comparing ratings across systems is problematic, there are too many variables involved. I suspect there are more hardcore games on the PSP, which tend to get higher scores from review sites who target that audience. I believe if you look at user scores you'll find the trend reverses itself (although comparing these scores isn't any more valid than critical reviews). You'll find the same trend with the Wii vs. PS3 and 360.
The bottom line is both systems have some great games. Buy whichever one appeals to you, or buy both. - moocow1452, on 01/17/2008, -0/+5What about N+?
- DyDx, on 01/17/2008, -1/+6Jan. 21: Advance Wars: Days of Ruin from Nintendo/Intelligent Systems
January: N+ from Atari
Feb. 12: Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney from Capcom
February: Assassin's Creed Altair's Chronicles™ from Ubisoft
March 25: Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword from Tecmo, Inc.
Spring: Sid Meier's Civilization® Revolution™ from 2K Games
These are the only games that are worth mentioning, based on their names and what I've heard about them. N+ is a DS version of that addictive flash platformer/physics simulation and should kick ass. The Civ game is supposedly be designed from the ground up for DS/Wii. I've heard good things about the Ninja Gaiden demo, and another Advanced Wars game is welcome, as is another attorney game.
But yea, most of those titles don't look good. - Kevin108, on 01/17/2008, -0/+5You know a lot more people would buy Wii games IF THEY COULD BUY A DAMN WII!!! :-)
- MioTheGreat, on 01/17/2008, -1/+5Damnit, Nintendo. I WANT BRAWL!
- ELCad, on 01/17/2008, -0/+4Let me know when you get yours and we'll exchange friend codes.
- skywake, on 01/17/2008, -0/+4Although I am the kind of person who carries around a launch DS Lite in a Mario themed case I agree. The only things I can call myself even remotely interested in are "Advance Wars: Days of Ruin" and "Anno 170: Dawn of Discovery". I don't really care about lack of decent new games on the DS though because Brawl is near ;)
- Y0tsuya, on 01/17/2008, -1/+5Wake me up when Wii consoles flood the shelves.
- chingy1788, on 01/17/2008, -0/+4i meant DS version, its all to do with the touch screen
- navster15, on 01/17/2008, -0/+3While there may be couple more games on the list worth mentioning as well, your list is pretty spot on. I am so sick of these game companies rolling out their 100+ game lineups when I am not remotely interested in 95% of them. Of course, the remaining 5% more than make up for dealing with the chaff. :)
- noseeme, on 01/17/2008, -0/+3"Feb. 25: Bratz: Super Babyz from THQ"
***** yeah, I can't wait to buy that *****. - Gir53457, on 01/17/2008, -0/+3Waiting for delivery. Win.
- kufu91, on 01/17/2008, -0/+3they have Myst coming out
- CleverGecko, on 01/17/2008, -1/+4wait, did that say YOGA training? that's silly.
i agree with many of you... these ds fanboys are really WAY to excited about a handful of good games, and a plethora of badly assuredly badly translated japanese junk... - antitab, on 01/17/2008, -0/+3Clearly you have never experienced the bizarre compulsion to maintain a digital farm.
- culbeda, on 01/17/2008, -0/+3Harvey Birdman for the Wii? You have my attention.
- Dgen_X, on 01/17/2008, -0/+3super dodgeball = ***** yeah
- mattcoxonline, on 01/17/2008, -0/+3I disagree. It wasn't as good as the original series' - but it wasn't bad.
- theragu40, on 01/17/2008, -0/+2Yet you will purchase Brawl instantly when it comes out, as you will do with Mario Kart. They're feeding the hype machine, to a genius level. It just sucks to be us.
- inactive, on 01/17/2008, -1/+3My one and only dream from nintendo is this: make a super smash bros for a portable system. That's all I've wanted since the first Smash Bros came out.
It would be damn sweet playing that over wireless. - greenblob, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2Notice that I said "drown out." A major problem with the Wii is that good games are going unnoticed while shovelware is selling. I don't care if the Wii lineup is full of shovelware, as long as good games get recognition.
- Nergal, on 01/17/2008, -1/+3There is already one put
