This is a great Christmas story. It's good to see Nintendo do nice things! - VaporBro, on 12/26/2007, -5/+109Nintendo, I have been by your side since I was 3 years old with my NES. I'm 22 now, and you are still creating smiles and wonderful memories for all. That makes me happy...Thank you Nintendo.
I think I am going to plug in my NES and play some River City Ransom... - SirNoobius, on 12/26/2007, -13/+111stupid
- Ninjab3ar, on 12/26/2007, -22/+120Made me chuckle slightly, but I then proceeded to bury him.
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -8/+82I'm sorry we're currently out of Arthrogryposis, but we're seeking more of Stupidity, since you have an over abundance of it, could we please extract some of it from you?
- TriZz, on 12/26/2007, -1/+69I really did just tear up a little there. That's awesome that this girl can now enjoy the simple pleasure of video games. It's great that Nintendo was there to help this along and make it a very special Christmas for her.
- AriaStar, on 12/26/2007, -1/+38Though this may seem like a "small" gesture to some of us, being that this company is so huge, to a sick child, the small things matter a lot. Stories like this hit close to my heart as one of the few children sick enough to be expected to die who was instead fortunate enough to live. Games to distract from being sick, a happy way to pass time, even teddy bears and small gifts that show that people care bring a measure of happiness so desperately needed. Props to Nintendo, and extra props for not using this as a way to garner positive attention (sounds like a family friend is).
- josh1413, on 12/26/2007, -3/+38I'd give this girl one before I'd ever consider giving you one.
- ClayDragon, on 12/26/2007, -0/+34Sadass?
- GonadHunter, on 12/26/2007, -1/+35Its good to see any corporation do nice things, regardless of the publicity gained.
- Cannon590A, on 12/26/2007, -2/+35A big thumbs up to Nintendo.
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -1/+32Dude.. Ponies ***** rule. Anyone with common sense knows that.
- afx1, on 12/26/2007, -5/+35i'd be willing to pay like $250 for one of those, plus any tax, maybe 8.25% let's say. unfortunately i cannot find one at this time.

- Demonkid549, on 12/26/2007, -6/+32I had to ***** log in just to bury you, idiot.
- inactive, on 12/26/2007, -1/+22She's like Kratos from God of War.
- dunguyen1980, on 12/26/2007, -1/+22This is just one example of Nintendo's greatness.
FYI: Nintendo donates games and systems to hospitals all the time. They obviously don't do it for the publicity, as they don't talk about it - manifestdata, on 12/26/2007, -3/+24You are right. The billions Bill Gates gives to Africa and the free Audio/Video hardware Sony gives to Japanese schools does not even compare to this one Wii. Stop creating a flame war where one isn't necessary. This was a wonderful deed that should not be looked down upon for any reason, this was a good thing people! Who the ***** cares if you can't get one because there is a shortage.
Oh to see the smile on that little girls face when she received the Wii. Tottally worth more than an Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii in my opinion. - biblee, on 12/26/2007, -1/+20way to be an *****
- SebHughes, on 12/26/2007, -9/+26Idiot * 2
- hippieben, on 12/26/2007, -3/+20May you get your wish, dumbass.
- soundsofreason, on 12/26/2007, -4/+20Some people's comments on here are really *****' stupid. It's shocking how detached some people can be.
- tendonut, on 12/26/2007, -1/+16Sounds like someone is bitter from not getting one yesterday...
- tendonut, on 12/26/2007, -0/+14And so is every large company?
- diversionmary, on 12/26/2007, -0/+13The little girl was later quoted as saying: "Yes, Shawn4168, baseball really is my favorite."
- bryxal, on 12/26/2007, -0/+12you know I used to think like you, but seriously with all the people that do bad things, I don't care anymore why they do good things, maybe its for the pr maybe its not but the point is, something good was done, lets accept that and support the act, no matter what the incentive might be.
- beerbarron, on 12/26/2007, -2/+14Shame stories like this dont dominate the world press :( This is what I love about digg, reading stories like this. Instead of, bla bla kills bla bla, or hurricane bla kill's bla. Whilst its important to make these issues heard, we need heart warming stories like this to make national headlines!
- VaporBro, on 12/26/2007, -1/+12Gonna be fun watching your comment be dugg down further and further.
To bad I don't know you; you sound like an awesome human being and a wonderful conversationalist. - tendonut, on 12/26/2007, -3/+14Judging by this story, she won't
/goes to hell - fotbr, on 12/26/2007, -0/+11Makes sense. You don't HAVE to press any buttons, just swing the controller. I can understand why she'd like that the best if she has a hard time pressing buttons.
- bulkhater, on 12/26/2007, -1/+11Designer, The trolling is getting pretty thin. You;re just tossing out lame one liners and using NO critical thought or argument skills. It's the mental equivalent of the moron who, after being right and properly humiliated by a peer, retorts with "well, well, so's your mother!" If you;re going to troll, at least have the self respect to do it RIGHT. A good troll is a joy to read, but lame, slacker hacks like yourself are just plain boring.
- ispeakasian, on 12/27/2007, -3/+13Buried for capitalizing the "s" in "stupidity."
- bliz, on 12/26/2007, -0/+10nintendo for the wii..=)
- BinaryFragger, on 12/26/2007, -1/+11I know it's taboo to say something positive about Microsoft on Digg, but Bill Gates gives away millions:
http://www.gatesfoundation.org/ - shawnz, on 12/27/2007, -0/+10uhh... here's an idea... why not just not make as many?
if they wanted to create the illusion of a shortage, they don't need to make extra consoles and throw them out.
think things through before you say them, idiot. - phenom2k7, on 12/26/2007, -0/+10No seriously, we don't need more stupidity.
- Tallon29, on 12/26/2007, -0/+10I don't know, I'm not a big fan of ponies *****. Maybe I lack common sense.
- BakaDrgn, on 12/27/2007, -0/+9What the ***** is wrong with you?
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -0/+9What's with all of the dicks on Digg today?
- hoeorange, on 12/26/2007, -0/+9Any girl Diggers wanna prove this ***** wrong?
- XBSHX, on 12/26/2007, -1/+10They're constantly shipping them, they just pulled one out and sent it to her. Everyone snatches them up the second they see them in stores, its not like they have giant piles of them and they send her one and don't send the rest to stores. Grow up.
- TheInfamousOne, on 12/26/2007, -0/+9I was like 5 or 6 when i got my first nintendo. I loved playing duck hunt. Anyhow, i recently got it back out so that my 4 year old could play duck hunt. It was kinda odd thinking about it, but she loved it.
- CoreGMRConMan, on 12/27/2007, -1/+10I also have arthrogryposis. I do not see myself buying a Wii anytime. I tried them at wal-mart and I could not grip it correctly. However I can type and play other consoles except for NES. (the controller is not conforming.) I am surprised that they worked something out for her. However, Nom4d is an MLG player for Rainbow 6 Vegas on 360. He plays with his nose and mouth to a 360 controller mounted to a stand. i drive with a joystick in my vehicle. Its all one pad. Up to go down to brake. Right and left to turn. It is shaped exactly like an Atari controller. It is pretty nifty. It's just like driving a Warthog. HeHe.
- dboy, on 12/26/2007, -2/+10right, that Wii should have gone to you instead. ***** the little girl, she only has an extremely debilitating disease and suffers every day. you must suffer too in your mom's basement. put down the pr0n and go outside.
- Coopdoggie, on 12/26/2007, -2/+10I hope you rot in hell.
- bulkhater, on 12/26/2007, -0/+8Why not?
- tendonut, on 12/26/2007, -4/+12No, Sony will do the exact same thing. Too bad the kid will return it to add to the huge stockpile in every store.
