- DRGinLBC, on 11/05/2007, -5/+152Ummm...I can't even begin to describe how excited I am for this game. Funny considering I'm almost 30! :)
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+47First screenshots released:
http://www.vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=6968 - mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -0/+34sounds redundant. I think Wiil would be easier.
- db0255, on 10/11/2007, -0/+33keep on gaming man!
- merdiesel, on 10/11/2007, -2/+30Mario Kart = greatest arcade racer of all time.
I can't wait to get my hands on this game! That steering wheel looks awesome too! - pwnrOiNK, on 10/11/2007, -6/+33I hereby dub the new controller the Wii-l.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24Release 1st Quarter 08.
Did you notice when Wario jumps a 180 he gets a boost from it. New move!
He hints that it will have a lot of players online racing together, sweet! - doshindude, on 10/11/2007, -4/+25it's nintendo. Yes. PS3 isn't worthy to make the digg front page.
- Calypsoaf, on 10/11/2007, -16/+35I'm probably going to get Dugg down for this, but here goes anyway...
Having different peripheral for thye Wii is neat, but really, how much is too much? As it stands now, if I wanted to get everything they just anounced, I would have 6+ pieces of just peripheral sitting around my room ('mote, 'chuck, controller, wheel, lasergun, exercise-pad (this does not count thrid party add-ons). If I wanted to play multiplayer from my house, I would have to dedicate an entire section of my home just to Wii accessories.
My question is, wasn't all this functionality suppose to be added into the Wiimote to begin with?
*braces for the bury* - SilverSpoon, on 10/11/2007, -5/+24I love how you can see the wrist strap in all these screen shots of their new accessories.
I mean, seriously, who's gonna leave that thing on. - Pensador, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18I loved Mario Kart 64!
- virtuality96, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1626 here and still loving my Wii and 360..
- merdiesel, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15play station three?..
rolling on floor laughing. - Innagadadavida, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16You don't have to buy them or the corresponding games. If you'd rather not have the accessories then don't buy them.
- spwpi10, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15I hope you didn't buy a Wii expecting a regular controller.
- bjs3171, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15you don't really need any of those accessories. i play excite truck just by holding the controller sideways, and it's fine. perfect, even. i'm sure mario kart will be the same way. i don't know what this lasergun is, but i'm betting you can just use the trigger on the remote. i guess you'd need the exercise pad, but really they should just make ankle remotes for running games. i agree though. accessories for the wii seem like laziness from the developers.
- AttilaD, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14It's 'cause we remember the first Mario Kart!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13Hell, I'm in the last half of my 30s and I'm still trying to get a Wii. I want this, MP:Corruption, Mario Galaxy and the new SSB.
I guess I'll have to stick to Mario Kart DS for now. (I love my DS Lite.) - MWeather, on 10/11/2007, -3/+16Most gamers are almost 40.
- berzerk, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14source?
- SilverSpoon, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13Hopefully people won't be throwing the steering wheel...
- wdunay3, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13Digg just for Mario Kart.
- bobcrotch, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Actually thats really funny. My brother in law who is 15 now kicked the crap out of me in the N64 version of Mario Kart, but I absolutely destroyed him at the SNES version =)
- STKD, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11For the idiots who seem to be missing the point: This is a FREE thing. It's for people new to games to get them playing on an even field with a method they'll understand. Why bitch about it? Just don't use it. You haven't paid for it after all.
- br0ck, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Actually, it looks like there's 12 karts on the track in the 2nd Engadget picture. Turtle shell bloodbath!
- db0255, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11did play station three not come out yet? man i feel stupid.
- iamsamsamiam, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12The wheel is so LAME.. but the game is amazing, being packaged together isn't bad i guess more free stuff that collect dust like my bongos from that DK game
- bigdoug2005, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10I herby dub you great at stealing comments
"Duncan @ Jul 11th 2007 2:31PM
I hereby dub the new controller the Wii-l." - br0ck, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9bjs - Wiinii is actually referring to the trailer where you can see the 180 that Wario does and where Reggie mentions that there will be lots more racers on the track.. with the exact number to be revealed later: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/21542.html
- BLyn, on 10/11/2007, -14/+23Are seperate stories really required for each of the announcments?
I'd really love to see just one comprehensive story for the ps3 conference make it to the front page. - keozen, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10If there is ever any PS3 news worth hearing I'm sure it WILL make the 1st page :)
(Call me a fanboy all you want but that's how social news sites like Digg work) :) - jeffeb3, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8it's obviously a roller coaster track. Gosh!
- Brian48216, on 10/11/2007, -7/+15God I really wish nintendo would stop making stupid peripherals like the wheel.
It looks like a fisherprice toy.
Mario Kart I'm excited. The wheel killed me on the inside though. - doshindude, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9LOLZ...people throwing that thing and taking out a TV...
- Shawn4168, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Yeah, this even looks significantly better than the Gamecube version...the lighting & shading in particular is impressive. Thanks for the link!
- R3Dirkulous, on 10/11/2007, -4/+11WTF is that supposed to mean? go troll somewhere else. Talk about simplified controls, sony has used the same control scheme for over ten years now.
- COLDshiver, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7According to Iwata: Keep gaming FOREVER!!
- Metalmoon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Screens look great... nice graphics
- Shirt, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8This game looks so good it hurts... o.0
This is going to be the pinnacle of party racing. Mariokart multiplayer is ALWAYS the greatest, beaten only by Smash Bros. (which also looks awesome) - wdunay3, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I'm right there with ya brotha. I'll be hittin' 29 in a few months and I still love this stuff.
- skull24, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9Must get Wii and PS3. Damn you Japan!
- ihascheezburger, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Uhh, really?
- ihascheezburger, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Hey...the n64 game was fun! But yeah, this is two generations later.

Thought they said it was coming earlier in Europe ? - lordtyros, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6You've never played Mario Kart DS.
- DRGinLBC, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6That's exactly it. My friends and I spent countless hours playing the earlier games. Too much fun!
- givinupthefight, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Not to nitpick, but that doesn't say most gamers are almost 40. It does say the average age of the person who *purchases* video games is 40, and that the mean age of gamers is 33, and it does have some percentages, but the only age demographics it specifies for gamers are under 18, 18 to 49, and 50+.
Still, cool statistics, I digg it.
(edit: boo comment system) - Dallas70, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Same here, man. 36 years old, wife 40 and we both love our Wii. Your best bet to find one is to check the Target website on Thursday/Friday, if it advertises a Wii then get your butt there Sunday morning, depending on the area most sell-out before noon. Wal-Mart does the same but theirs go on sale Midnight Sat.
