- matchb, on 10/11/2007, -6/+104Mom, get your own Wii. I need more time for Metroid, Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros
- iluvatar, on 10/11/2007, -6/+95I'll let her play with mine.
- xxeyes, on 10/11/2007, -2/+72There is a HUGE market for this "game" and I expect it will sell consoles. However, as a more "hardcore" gamer, I am most excited for the potential Balance Board usage in other new games -- boarding sport games come to mind immediately. I'm also interested to see what indy developers [using WiiWare] will do with the Balance Board and Wii Remote combo.
- UberCoolCam, on 10/11/2007, -27/+85WARNING; May cause low self-asteem.
- Metalmoon, on 10/11/2007, -4/+59Man, lots of negativity around WiiFit. I thought it looked pretty cool, there could be all sorts of uses for this.
- royaltea, on 10/11/2007, -3/+46nintendo is printing money again
- atheinostic, on 10/11/2007, -6/+47Here is a pic of the prototype:
http://tinyurl.com/yow2wv - MrCrumbles, on 10/11/2007, -5/+45Do they have a Wii Spelling game yet?
- ShangoKai, on 10/11/2007, -2/+39When you make working out into a game instead of a chore, it becomes a lot more accessible to the average person.
- Pensador, on 10/11/2007, -1/+35I'm getting a Wii for the wife.
- lijamez, on 10/11/2007, -3/+32Skate/Snowboarding games.
- yoshihama, on 10/11/2007, -0/+28Balance board + wii-mote = American Gladiators: the game. ;-)
- Maarek, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24why do they need to prove....they actually have a track record of this stuff working well...
- KingGoonie, on 10/11/2007, -2/+24I am a hardcore gamer and think is awesome...
- MWeather, on 10/11/2007, -1/+22Intellectual elitism? There's a built in spell-checker!
- jason469, on 10/11/2007, -3/+24I'm glad to see them taking a step in the right direction. Our lives are becoming much more digital, so why not make such an important part of our life (exercise) fun?
- eihwaz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+21DS for BrainTraining, now Wii for WiiFit... Nintendo is REALLY taking a healthy direction in their strategy, it's great to see someone thinking outside of the box when it comes to "gaming experience".
- xerus, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18Holy *****. A skateboarding game on that thing would rule.
- Propapanda, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17It really is tragic the number of people who get so fat that their feet extend into giant round blobs, unable to fit on any reasonable surface.
- heysuburbia, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18Here is the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXRriHMlnH4 - SnuKs, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17How's this affecting you? Why are you so mad? Calm your ass down!
- crossmr, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15I wonder what the weight limit will be.
- shit, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13Gas and Brake for the new Mario Kart?
- TBoneFever, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12People thought the Wii was gimmicky, and it turned out to be a hit. Proof enough for me.
- bcoughlin, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14Wow, 3 new peripherals in 1 keynote ... luckily they're pack ins.
- Renton, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Holy *****. That kid got hit with a shoe in the game and felt it in real life!
- spyrochaete, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12I'm a hardcore gamer. I'm fat. I'm getting this game.
- Akaji, on 10/11/2007, -5/+17I'll be nice and just point it out right: IT WAS ALREADY COMMENTED ON 37 MINUTES BEFORE YOU COMMENTED
- CaptShmo, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15DDR pad in the works? Pleeeaaase nintendoooo
- MilesLombardi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Nope, they actually announced that one for the DS. It's by Ubisoft I think :S.
- insomniac8400, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10I hope that works like a power pad. We need track n' field!
- chakktor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10ass steam....
- NYCowboy, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12I have to say I enjoyed the conference. My faith in Nintendo has been restored. I can't wait till wiifit or any of the other games mentioned
- Cyberbladewolf, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Some of us are just stupid like that. Perhaps combining exercising with a video game is a great idea, as it might help some people get off their ass and do something. For example, if I do push ups, I get bored really, really damn fast. Now, if doing a push up was part of a video game, I might be more interested without even realizing it.
DDR is a good example, as is Guitar Hero. You don't have to get those games, you could just dance or play guitar, but when they become a game they suddenly become more interesting. - elpayo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11Nintendo, single-handedly changing the face, and body shape of gaming. This plus the Nike+ for iPod Nano may be the greatest advance in fitness in years. Getting people even slightly more motivated to work out is a very good thing.
- Valdiggi, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11I assume that it was NOT 100deg at 8:00am at your house today?
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9People pay rediculous amounts of money for gym memberships too.
- gameface25, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Reggie was overweight according to the game, and he kicked Shiggy's ass and took his name in the soccer game.
- noahhoward, on 10/11/2007, -3/+11Zelda? Blazing Angels? Sports? Metroid? Resident Evil 4? Prince of Persia? The Bigs? Madden 08?
Oh... you were trolling weren't you? Nevermind then, I thought you were just too stupid to research. - Brian48216, on 10/11/2007, -9/+17wonderful as this may be, it really feels gimmicky.
prove me wrong nintendo....prove me wrong.... - herogear, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8You're kidding, right? Complaining about a company offering a form of alternative entertainment in games when its two competitors offer the same damn thing you've been playing the past decade? And if I had to guess WiiFit will come with the damn pad, so stop your bitching about how you can't afford a racing wheel wah wah wah. For ***** sake, WiiPlay gave you a damn controller with it, and they announced the wheel and zapper will be pack-ins with games too. If anything, Nintendo knows if it wants the casual crowd in, it has to be inclusive - give them what they to play out of the box.
NOW, a real criticism (versus your half-assed, half-baked nonsense) is that with all these extra controls, who else will develop for them? More importantly, would we want them to? I already see a great potential for the Wiimote/Nunchuk setup that has yet to be exploited by third parties. Instead we get ***** ports of PS2 games with 'waggle' in it. How about someone addresses THAT? - virtualball, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8This technology looks far more advanced then DDR....seriously!
- Aurarch, on 10/11/2007, -5/+12what's next, the WiiRack?
- spyrochaete, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Whatever. Chester Cheetah says I'm the bomb.
- KingGoonie, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Um... not for nothing but I prefer having fun while doing pushups and excercises and all that... Why not just look at this as it is, a game that will get you in shape yes, but still a game, and the wii is for games, this one just has added benefits.
- MrCrumbles, on 10/11/2007, -4/+10It's not very wide. How are very overweight people trying to get in shape supposed to stay on this thing?
- MCHampster, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7THAT would be hilarious. Great idea!
- Cyberbladewolf, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Obviously weight isn't a problem. Reggie's size kinda shows us that. My guess is that weight becomes an issue for it when it really doesn't have to worry about weight because you can't walk.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5EA's Madden 08 for the Wii will be online too.
