- alenade, on 10/02/2008, -20/+575I wonder if DSI:Miami is next.
- bcaylor, on 10/02/2008, -7/+335Didn't Nintendo say that the original DS was supposed to compliment the Gameboy right before they stopped making them altogether?
- WiZZLa, on 10/02/2008, -0/+262The homebrew community will probably enjoy trying to hack the internal SD card reader to play ROMs directly without a cart loader.
- WiZZLa, on 10/02/2008, -10/+220buying a go-kart?

o Built in web browser.
o Will release in Japan November 1 for 18900 yen (about $180), two colors: White and flat grey. - nymphetamine, on 10/02/2008, -0/+119Hopefully they added WPA support.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -0/+113YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
- juneof44, on 10/02/2008, -0/+111Everyone got upset when the Revolution was renamed to Wii, but we've all gotten used to it.
At least it wasn't called the iDS! - limezor2, on 10/02/2008, -9/+104They really couldn't come up with a better name than DSi?
- sk1p17, on 10/02/2008, -8/+101Why is he being buried?
They did say that - guitarh3ro, on 10/02/2008, -3/+96...So, basically, by getting rid of a GBA slot, they're screwing over games that require the GBA slot for certain functions. Guitar Hero, Pokemon D/P/Pt (for migrating from previous games), and any game that uses the Rumble Pak.
...
I love everything else, but getting rid of the GBA slot is a disappointment. - DarkJedi375, on 10/02/2008, -7/+99I went and bought myself the DS when it came out. It was fun. They release DS Lite and I bought that too. Now, here comes the DSi... I'll let you guess what I'll be doing when it comes out... :/
- Mogger, on 10/02/2008, -2/+75iHate it too.
- TheVigilante, on 10/02/2008, -5/+77I'm totally getting a DSi despite the fact I don't play my DS now.
- cheeseron, on 10/02/2008, -3/+64i don't think anyone will miss guitar hero for ds
- gaqua, on 10/02/2008, -5/+59For the price of a DS, DS Lite, and DSi, he could probably actually come near a modest used go-cart, especially if he's got a bunch of games.
I actually think the go-cart would have been more fun. - AuburnTigers, on 10/02/2008, -1/+55It's a DS Lite...with a camera.
And it will sell millions.
You're welcome. - DidYouLoseASock, on 10/02/2008, -7/+58The third platform is BS. It is just the new DS. They do not want people like myself to feel bad for already owning a DS lite and want me to go out a by the new DSi.
- rillo561, on 10/02/2008, -5/+52I'll keep my 'old' DS, I like GBA slot
- MasonZombie, on 10/02/2008, -1/+47God I hate the "i" before everything *****.
- Lochie, on 10/02/2008, -3/+48i lol'd
- flxfxp, on 10/02/2008, -0/+44sometimes.....the truth is hard to swallow
*puts on sunglasses* - jptolife, on 10/02/2008, -1/+45Need more info!
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -3/+46there is only 1 touchscreen, damn you guys are retarded
- Insomniac33, on 10/02/2008, -0/+42Looks like this is one handheld...
*Dons Sunglasses*
... that some people would kill for. - mario323, on 10/02/2008, -1/+42Here's a brilliant idea: KEEP your old DS.
Did I just blow your mind? - mjwhip, on 10/02/2008, -0/+40I prefer "Vaj" to pretty much anything.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -0/+38Why is every device these days "taking on the iPhone".
The iPhone is a phone. The DS is a gaming system. - jaychuck, on 10/02/2008, -2/+37Being the only person on Earth who doesn't own a DS yet, this will be a must buy for me.
- Phrase, on 10/02/2008, -1/+35I dunno if you guys are excited, but I'm psyched.
I've always found the DS a great game platform because of the innovation and it's something I can just wind down with in bed before I go to sleep. All that touching mmmhmmm, hard to resist. - rabidg00se, on 10/02/2008, -0/+33MScrip, you're right. But, games like Guitar Hero: On Tour use the GBA slot as a required part of gameplay. Of course there are others, but that's the one I can imagine being most affected by this.
- Scrappy1850, on 10/02/2008, -1/+32YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!
- acegi, on 10/02/2008, -1/+32he accidentally the whole gba slot
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -1/+31exactly what i'm hoping for.
GBA slot what?
and who actually plays Guitar Hero on their DS anyways? - Incidents, on 10/02/2008, -0/+29There are TWO cameras.
The external camera on the outside is 3 megapixels and the front-facing one in 0.3 megapixels.
Also, only one screen has touch; having two was a translation error. - firebirdx01, on 10/02/2008, -0/+28I don't think this warrants a $50 leap in price.
- TheDarkstarter, on 10/02/2008, -1/+28yo dawg we put a touchscreen in yo touchscreen cuz we heard you like to touch while you touch

I dont think I'm upgrading. Look at the battery life!!!!!! - frozenpxl, on 10/02/2008, -9/+33Its funny because its like CSI: Miami.
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -0/+24Yes, but only the cell shaded Crysis: Chinatown Wars.
- CursorTN, on 10/02/2008, -1/+25And ditched friend codes.
- coyote1284, on 10/02/2008, -0/+23If they made a "upgraded" Wii, I hope they don't call it "Wii Ni"
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -2/+24Personally I'm done upgrading. I got the original DS, then the DS Lite, but now they've removed the GBA slot and therefore made the thing incompatible with various existing DS games.... and I hardly consider that an "upgrade". So it has some bigger screens, touch screen, MP3 etc... big deal, my iPod Touch has all of that. I'm not trading game compatibility for some barely noticeable screen size improvements and other crap I won't use.
- gadgetlust, on 10/02/2008, -1/+22The two screens aren't strictly necessary for every game, but they are great for certain genres of game and ones specifically designed for the DS hardware. More complex action / FPS games usually map a variety of controls to the touchscreen, including analog aiming. Some shooters / pinball games use both screens to increase the real estate available for playing. RPG's usually display dungeon maps / character stats on one screen and show the game on the other.
It's not really a gimmick. It is a more substantial gaming experience than you could have on one screen. I love my DS - actually play it more than my Wii. - Lochie, on 10/02/2008, -1/+22touching
- vinibinini, on 10/02/2008, -5/+26wow they did it again
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -2/+22He was only buried 4 times...
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -2/+22Hopefully they don't start finding semen samples on DSi...
- Divals, on 10/02/2008, -1/+20DSi is a pretty lame guy. Eh eliminates GBA slot and doesn't worth anything.
- Elranzer, on 10/02/2008, -1/+19IT PRINTS MONEY!!
